Peachland Volunteers Spirit of Peachland Civic Awards
Peachland Volunteer Fair
Peachland is a vibrant community where volunteers deliver services and contribute so much to the quality of life. Each year, residents are recognized for their service through the “Peachland Civic Awards”. Nominations are currently being accepted for a variety of categories including: Citizen of the Year, Youth Citizen of the Year, Freedom of the Municipality, “Unsung Hero” and many more. The nomination period is open through to March 30th with the nomination forms available in at the Recreation Centre, at the Municipal office and online at www.peachland.ca . Enjoy an evening recognizing the contributions of many people that help to make Peachland a community that we are all proud to live in. Everyone is welcome to attend. No RSVP is necessary unless you have been contacted as an award nominee or as a special guest.
Volunteering is a great way to build skills, meet new friends and give back to your community. But finding the right opportunity can sometimes be challenging. Join us for a night of socialization and information as many of our local community volunteer agencies gather under one roof to share what opportunities are available. In Peachland, volunteers are in the fore front of so many of our community services - community event and projects; heritage and arts; volunteer firefighting; health and wellness; sport and leisure - the list is endless. Drop by to see what opportunity might work for you.

It’s time to spring into summer and enjoy everything our beautiful community has to offer. From hiking opportunities to walks along our waterfront, there is so much to see and do. This winter we worked with Richard Smith to update the information panels at the Trepanier Kiosk. We invite you to drop by the Kiosk to find out more about Peachlands rich history and also find out about hiking and walking opportunities around the Trepanier area. As well, the lifeguards will be back at Swim Bay the end of June and we will be offering a variety of Swim Lessons and Lifeguard training opportunities. Here at the Recreation Centre we have a variety of new Arts and Crafts and Get Active opportunities and races available for you and your family. Remember to visit us online at www.peachland.ca or on facebook (search Peachland Recreation) for the latest happenings.

Aquatics Aquatics The District of Peachland is pleased to present our Summer Swim program. Our waterfront lifeguards are on duty from June 18 to August 24 from Monday through Sunday 10:00 am-6:00 pm Help your child develop a healthy lifestyle through swimming. Your child will learn to swim and stay safe in a fun environment that promotes a personal best and celebrates individual success. Our small class sizes in the beautiful Okanagan Lake make it an unique swim experience. Classes may be re-organized to ensure that children are participating at the most appropriate skill level. In the beginner levels, children will focus on getting comfortable in the water, water safety and will learn progressions that will lead to stroke development in the higher levels. As the children progress, they will learn both competitive and survival strokes while building their distance and speed. Children will also learn about making safe decisions in, on and around the water. In each level, participants are evaluated based on performance criteria and progress to the next level once all criteria have been successfully completed. 10:00 am SwimKids 7/8 10:15 am
