ROADWORKS CHAOS TO HIT BRAMHALL? Four Main Routes Into Stockport To Have Roadworks At The Same Time

Bramhall residents could be facing four weeks of frustration as roadworks are planned on four different routes into Stockport. Whilst the planned works aren’t directly in Bramhall town centre, they could have a knock-on effect on residents travelling in and out of Bramhall. The roadworks are planned to take place on the A6 around High Lane and Hazel Grove with 24 hour traffic lights in place from October 31 to November 18. Offerton Road, in Hazel Grove, which can be used to navigate around the A6 will have temporary lights starting the same day until November 11 from 9.30am to 3.30pm. Bramhall Lane, in Davenport, another alternative to the A6 will have carriageway repairs needing temporary lights. These will be in use 9.30am to 3.30pm during the week, longer at weekends. A section of Woodsmoor Road will also be closed at times. Also work to improve the junction of Spring Gardens, Churchgate and Waterloo Road, central Stockport , has already begun and runs until November 20. With Christmas shopping trips starting to be planned, it could be a slightly longer drive for festive shopping but the Council plans to have all works finished well before the seasonal rush really kicks in.
