JONNY BINNS DEATH: ‘NOT GUILTY’ VERDICT Jury clears pair of murder but guilty of manslaughter By Staff Reporters TWO men who ran over and killed a father-of-one in a pub car park will be sentenced today (Friday). Jaelan Herlt and Khaleem Harris were both cleared of murdering Thornhill man Jonathan Binns but were found guilty of manslaughter by a jury at Bradford Crown Court. Mr Binns suffered “unsurvivable” injuries after he was hit by a Ford Fiesta driven by Herlt in the car park of The Scarborough pub on The Town, Thornhill, just over a year ago. The prosecution accused Herlt of deliberately ploughing into 32-year-old Mr Binns, while front-seat passenger Harris encouraged him. Eight other defendants aged between 17 and 21 were

Jaelan Herlt – driver also on trial for violent disorder following two incidents which involved fighting in the pub car park on the night of February 17 last year. It was said that Mr Binns came out of the pub after the fighting had subsided and

posed “no meaningful threat” when Herlt ran him over. Herlt, of Derwent Road, was also found guilty of violent disorder, and Harris changed his plea to guilty for the same offence part-way through the month-long trial. Harris, of North Road, was also convicted of possessing an offensive weapon. A Stanley knife was recovered from the abandoned Fiesta when police searched it. Harris’s younger brother Kamrren, 18, of The Town, was found guilty of grievous bodily harm in relation to attacking another man, violent disorder and possessing an offensive weapon. Two of the remaining seven defendants were acquitted of violent disorder. They were Ashley Longstaff, 20, of Lees Hall Road, Thornhill Lees, and Thomas Chapman, 19, of Edge View,
