Junkie swallowed 28 wraps of drugs Jailed: Addict who needed CT scan and x-ray after trying to hide evidence By Staff Reporters A DRUG DEALER who swallowed 28 wraps of class A drugs in an attempt to hide evidence from the police has been locked up for almost three years. Tim Moyce, 37, from Dewsbury, swallowed the wraps of heroin and crack cocaine while he was driving through Wakefield in February, after noticing police officers following him. They signalled to Moyce to
pull over but he ignored their attempts. Officers saw him swallowing the wraps in between drinking large quantities of water. When they finally stopped him, he told them he had swallowed the drugs. He was taken to hospital, where he was given a CT scan and an x-ray which showed the wraps in his stomach. Moyce, right, of West Park Street, admitted possession of heroin and crack cocaine with intent to supply, as well as a charge of dangerous driving, when he appeared at Leeds Crown Court.
Following the incident he remained in hospital for eight days, during which time he passed the 28 wraps, which had a street value of £243. He told police he had been using heroin for 22 years and had agreed to sell the drugs on behalf of his dealer, as he had no money to buy his own. Moyce was released on bail but on June 15 was caught speeding along Balne Lane in Wakefield, reaching 65mph in a 30mph zone. A group of men outside a mosque had to jump out of the way to avoid
being knocked down. He was arrested after he drove into a cul-de-sac in Batley. Moyce’s solicitor James Littlehales said that his client was “extremely lucky that something more serious did not happen”. The court was told that Moyce had a limited criminal record but did have a long history of drug abuse, which he had funded by taking a job as a driver. But he began offending after he lost that job. He was jailed for 32 months and banned from driving for three years.
