WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 1ST The Proper Foundation Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labor in vain. - Psalm 127:1a Imagine spending years building an expensive home with the finest materials and craftsmanship. It is a work of art, and the project is almost complete. As the day arrives to move in, a building inspector arrives and hands you a notice that condemns your beautiful home because it doesn't meet code. Many Christian workplace believers who invest years in their businesses will one day stand before the Lord and realize they were building the house, not the Lord. God is very picky about motives behind the actions. Before we act, we must ask why? Why are we doing what we are doing? Has God called us to this task? Or is the real motive purely financial? Or control. Or prestige. If any man builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, his work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man's work (1 Corinthians 3:12-13). David learned this principle by the end of his life. Throughout his life he had learned that God always tested him to find out what was in his heart, and what his motive was in his actions. David instructed his son to "...acknowledge the God of your father, and serve Him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the Lord searches every heart and understands every motive behind the thoughts" (1 Chron. 28:9a).

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O LORD, my rock and my Redeemer, let my service be tested and accepted in thy present that at the end i will receive a crown of life.
I live for you day after day; you are my director and my redeemer

THURSDAY OCTOBER 2ND Identity in Christ “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20 NIV) God spoke you into your mother's womb at just the right time for you to be here now. It wasn’t by accident, nor was it a pleasant surprise to God; he designed you on purpose to be on mission with him for such a time as this. Your faith will grow stronger as you focus on your identity in Christ. What this means is that you abandon any image of yourself that is not from God. You stop believing what others have said about you; you stop believing how others have labeled you; you stop accepting how others have defined you. Where I’m going is here – if you don’t know who you are, then you’re vulnerable to other people telling you who you are. But the concrete, solid, gospel truth is that you are who God says you are and no one else has a vote in the matter. You are now identified with Christ and have the power of the Holy Spirit within you. You are God’s precious child and he created you in a way that pleases him. This “identity issue” is an important part of living the abundant life. Jesus was able to face the incredible demands of his mission because he’d settled this identity issue. He knew exactly who he was; he knew that he mattered immensely to his Heavenly Father, and that gave him confidence to move purposefully in faith. God wants you to be you – You can relax knowing that being yourself is exactly what God wants of you. A pencil brings glory to God by being a pencil. 8
But, if you take a pencil and try to use it like a screwdriver, it won’t work and you’ll likely break the pencil. You will find the stress drained from your life when you stop trying to be somebody you’re not and instead start being who God purposefully designed you to be. Believe God calls you by name – God didn’t call you as part of a blanket invitation; he called you specifically by name. You are his masterpiece, a work of his own hands. Like many earthly fathers, God feels pleasure when he sees you just being you. Believe you are who God says you are – No one else has a vote on who you are. You are free to be you instead of imitating someone else. You are free to use your unique, God-given gifts and there is no need to compare your gifts to the gifts of others. No one else is in competition to be you!
Father am a masterpiece of your creation, you created me so unique, that my part is growing brighter and brighter until it reaches the full light of day, as I follow you, lord, I believe my path is becoming clearer each day in Jesus Name Amen
I am a masterpiece, created in the image of God, ready to fulfill God desire over my life .

FRIDAY OCTOBER 3RD Spiritual Conflict Do you ever feel that you are the only one who has problems? It's not true. All of us suffer spiritual conflicts. And I believe there are three types of spiritual conflict: Spiritual conflict against the world. Jesus said, "I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world" (John 16:33 NLT). Jesus is saying that you're going to have problems-that's not pleasant, is it? But the second part of the Scripture lets you know that you can have the joy of the Lord in your heart because He has already overcome whatever you are facing! Spiritual conflict against the flesh. Sin tries to get into your life every day, but by the power of the Holy Spirit, you can make the decision to keep it out. In Galatians 5:16 NIV, Paul said, Live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. Paul laid it on the line. He admitted that he had shortcomings and problems and was tempted just like everyone else. So how did he overcome? By the power of the Holy Spirit. There are choices to make each day, but as you rely on the guidance of the Holy Spirit, you can make the right ones. Spiritual conflict against the devil. The devil seeks those he can get his grips into. First Peter 4:8-9 NIV says, Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith. In other words, be your own police force. Control yourself. Yes, conflicts will come, but the One who is the overcomer is on your side!
10
In the name of Jesus I withstand the devil; I am firm in my faith against the onset, rooted, established, strong, immovable, and determined. I cease from the weariness and pain of human labor, and I am zealous and exert myself and strive diligently to say enter into the rest of God to know and experience it myself. I will not fret myself, nor shall I let my heart be troubled, neither shall I let it be afraid. I hope in you, God, and wait expectantly for you; for I shall yet praise you, for you are the help of my countenance and my God.
Morning Matthew 5 Evening Matthew 6 11
I am not defeated by conflict because my Savior, Jesus Christ, has overcome the world!
Psalm 42:11, Hebrews 4:10, 11
SATURDAY OCTOBER 4TH Plan for Good “Those who plan what is good find love and faithfulness” Proverbs 14:22. Do you wake up every morning expecting favor and blessing on everything you do? Do you plan for what is good? When we plan for what is good, the scripture tells us that we find love. The scripture also tells us that God is love. When you plan for what is good, you will find God in the midst of your plans. What do you expect as you go throughout your day? Don’t let the negative voices of the world or other people in your life get you focused in the wrong direction. It doesn’t matter what is happening in the economy or the housing market, God’s plan is for your good. When you plan for good, you are in agreement with God. You and God are a majority. Do you need more of God in your life? Do you need more love peace and faithfulness? Plan for what is good, and you will move forward into the life of victory the Lord has in store for you!
12
Father in Heaven, thank You for the good plans you have for my life. I choose your plan and ask that you direct my mind and thoughts according to your purpose over my life. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
Morning Matthew 7 Evening Matthew 8, 9 13
I am on God perfect plan, he provide and take care of my need, today I still shine like the morning star.
1 Peter 5:5 Matthew 6:10
Protected I am calm, courageous, and at peace. Whatever may be happening in my life or in the world, I know that God’s gentle all-providing presence is with me. In any moment, I can become still and experience the presence of God that is continually upholding me, strengthening me, and comforting me. God’s presence is within all people, so I know this is true for loved ones who live and serve in places where conflict is a part of everyday life. I know and affirm that the presence of God transcends appearances and guides each one in ways of peace and safety wherever they are. In any moment of anxiety or concern, I take a deep breath, relax, and acknowledge God’s loving, healing presence. In any situation, I am calm, courageous, and at peace. He protected us along all the way that we went, and among all the peoples through whom we passed.”—Joshua 24:17 EMPATHY The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:18 FROM THE FATHER'S HEART My child, do you know that when you hurt, I hurt? Pain is no stranger to me. I have been there, and I understand. I'll walk with you through your fires, and I'll wipe away your tears. When you cannot walk alone, I will carry you. Lean on me today. A GRATEFUL RESPONSE It is You, Lord, who heals my broken heart. You stand nearby, ready to wrap loving arms around me when the hurt be-comes too great to bear. When my dreams are crushed, you, not time, are the great healer. You feel my hurts, Lord—even more than I do. SIMPLE TRUTH There are no sorrows greater than our God can heal; there are no hurts deeper than He can feel 14
Psalm 14:1 The fool hath said in his heart, there is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good. The Reverend Dave Scott stood trembling at the doorway to the sanctuary. During the night, vandals had broken into the church. They hadn't taken anything, but they had destroyed just about everything. Windows were shattered, pews splintered, Bible ripped apart. Reverend Scott felt a terrible sickness in the pit of his stomach. Who could do such things? Was nothing sacred anymore? We need to ask ourselves these questions, because we face such situations all the time. Terrible things are done all around us, and often they happen without regard or respect for things we hold sacred. Foolish people hold our God in contempt, and we can only find consolation in the fact that the Lord sees all, and His justice will one day be done. For us, we must hold onto His goodness and His strength so we can endure such inconceivable crimes. Our Lord is greater than the "things" foolish people destroy. His will be done! Prayer: O Lord, while the evil days keep coming, grant me strength enough to endure until the end. Remind me that I worship you, and nothing any man or woman can do will ever destroy that. Amen.

SUNDAY OCTOBER 5TH New Wine Luke 5:38 new wine must be put into fresh wineskins Jesus taught that the forms of our Christian practice must change. In His parable of the garment and the wineskin in Luke 5:36-39, the garment and the wineskin are the external dress and the container, not the substance of our faith. They represent the religious customs, practices and traditions in which the substance of our faith is packaged. Jesus is stating a fact--the garment needs mending and the old wineskin is old! What worked before isn't working anymore. Times change, cultures change, and what worked 20 years ago may not work today. But what doesn't change is the object of our faith. "Time-honored faith" and "long-established practice" blend together and become indistinguishable to the status quo. When someone advocates another form of practice, it becomes apparent that the security of the old wineskins rests in the long-established practice instead of the time-honored faith. The reasoning behind the resistance is logical: "I came to Christ singing that song," or "It worked for me. I don't see why it won't work for my children." We have to ask, "Is it relevant? Does it relate?" The older generation is the stable force in our churches. They are faithful and mature, and they represent the financial stability that every church needs. They also make up the boards and committees that determine the style of ministry, but they have a tendency to perpetuate long-established practices that are meaningful to them. This problem is more sociological than spiritual. Why is it that a good, Bible-believing church which faithfully carries out its ministry 16
struggles to hold onto its young people, when down the street a contemporary ministry rents a store building and has four times more young people in a matter of months? Because the contemporary ministry relates to the young and their style of music. It caters to their desire for expression and participation. If we fail to provide new wineskins, we will be ill-equipped to serve the "new wine"--the next generation of believers. To impart life, you need to do something different from the past in affecting the present it has to be new.
I surrender all to you my dear God, Lord, help me never to cling to my past so that I can have a clear the old ways just because they manifestation of my future, I cling make me feel comfortable. onto the Holy Spirit that is to teach me new things to come, new things that is needed in my life, in my Ministry, in the church, in my school, and in my home, so that I would continue to experience you all the time in my life in Jesus Name Amen. Morning Matthew 10 Evening Matthew 11 17
John 14:26 I John 2:27
MONDAY OCTOBER 6TH Saved Soul, Wasted Life "For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 3:11 A poll was taken not long ago that asked Americans what they thought was their main purpose in life. The responses were interesting. You would think some might say, "To make a contribution to society," or "To have a meaningful life." But what most people said was, "The main purpose of life is enjoyment and personal fulfillment." It's interesting to note that 50 percent of those polled identified themselves as born-again Christians. According to the Bible, the purpose of life is not enjoyment and personal fulfillment. The Bible teaches that we are put on this earth to bring glory to God. We need to mark that well in our minds and hearts. Speaking in Isaiah 43:7, God said, "All who claim me as their God will come, for I have made them for my glory. It was I who created them" (NLT). Therefore, we are to glorify God in all that we do with our lives. Are you using your resources and talents for His glory? Sometimes we think that God has given us this life to do what we will. We will say, "Lord, this is mine. This is my week. Here is your time on Sunday morning. The rest of it belongs to me." Or, "Here is the plan for my life, Lord. Here is what I want to accomplish." Or, "This is my money. Here is your 10 percent, Lord. I give a waitress more, but 10 percent is all you get." We develop a false concept of God. It's possible to have a saved soul, but a wasted life. If you were asked today, "What is the main purpose of life?" what would you say?
18
Father I would say that you have I live in the realm of success and been my source of living, my victory all the rest of my life hope, my great provider. Help to through Jesus Christ my lord . acknowledge you all the days of my life as my source of victory as I continue to magnify your holy name in Jesus name Amen.

Psalm 42:1 Psalm 63:1
TUESDAY OCTOBER 7TH Is Your Faith In Your Fear? “But Jesus immediately said to them: "Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.” (Matthew 14:27, NIV) Across the breadth of the Bible, God consistently sends the message, “Do not be afraid, for I am with you.” The Bible reveals that God knows we tend toward fear, particularly as we respond to uncertainty and change. Yet the Bible also reveals that God is the only unchanging certainty in this world – or out of it. Yet, is it possible we have more faith in our fear than we do in God? No matter how complex life becomes, it still comes down to this basic choice: Will we place our confidence in the All-Powerful Supreme Being and Sole Authority of the Universe, or will we place greater confidence in our fears? Although the choice is black-or-white basic, God knows it’s not simple. It involves a challenging stretch, and that’s why God continually reminds us, “Fear not, for I am with you.” God is clear that our abilities, our resources – even a belief in the myth of luck – will not be what strengthen us for the journey. (Philippians 4:13) We fear we can’t do the things God calls us to do, and we fear that God will not protect us or provide for us. We choose this fear, embracing the unholy lie that our circumstances are bigger than the One True God. Our faith in God gets placed on the altar of our own perceptions when we should be placing our perceptions on the altar of unflinching faith. Our God whispers to us in that still, small voice, he calls us to develop confidence in him; he calls us to abandon the confidence we have in what we see and the confidence we have in our fears. God keeps the curtain of our future drawn so we will learn to live by faith and not by sight, so we will become certain of what we hope for and become sure of God, even when we cannot see how he’s working in our current circumstances. (Hebrews 11:1) 20
Ask God to replace your fear with faith, Eliminating your fear involves more than working up your courage. This is a spiritual battle that requires you to develop faith. But first you need to make a choice – Will you fear, or will you “faith?” Faith means you believe the truth – Your behavior and decisions are most often rooted in what you believe. When you experience fear, ask yourself, “What does this fear say about what I believe in this circumstance?” What fears are you experiencing today? What do they say about the beliefs you currently embrace? Ask God to pull these false beliefs and fears out by the root. Get caught in an act of faith – One day, a woman who had hemorrhaged for 12 years slipped up behind Jesus and touched his robe, believing he could heal her. “Jesus turned –caught her at it. Then he reassured her: ‘Courage, daughter. You took a risk of faith, and now you're well.’” (Matthew 9:22, MSG) God is for you, and he encourages you to be caught in the act of faith.
Father help me to overcome fear and keep my believe steadfast in you, I hold on to you for my daily needs. I commit my life in your hand; you are my great comforter, my redeemer, you have redeemed me from every form of fear and intimidation, I totally believe in your word over every step I take this days in Jesus Name Amen.
Morning Matthew 13 Evening Matthew 14 21
I have the mind of Christ, the Messiah, and do hold the thoughts, feelings and purpose of his heart.

WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 8TH Sowing In Tears "Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy." - Psalm 126:5 Psalm 126 describes an interesting process that goes against our natural tendencies when we are taken into a difficult period in our lives. Whenever we are hurled into a crisis that brings tears, our tendency is to retreat or recoil in fear and hurt. However, there is a better way that God tells us to handle such times of travail. Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy. "He who goes out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with him" (Ps. 126:5-6). God is telling us that if we will do what is unnatural for us in these circumstances, He will make sure that what we sow in tears will return in joy. This is one of the most important lessons I have learned when faced with difficult circumstances. Rather than sit back and allow self-pity and discouragement to consume us, we should plant seed during this time. Reach out to a person who needs a friend. Invest in the life of another. See where you can be a blessing to someone. The psalmist acknowledges that we are doing this while we are in our pain. However, during this time we are to sow seed. That seed will return to us in another form. Here is what will happen when we do this. "He who goes out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with him." We will receive joy and fruit from the seed that we plant during this time. Sheaves represent the fruit of a harvest. We will actually get a harvest from this seed. "You must not let the circumstances destroy you! Too many in the Kingdom are counting on you to come through this because of the calling on your life!" Those were the words spoken to me by a friend one time when I was in the midst of a very difficult business and personal circumstance that was threatening to destroy me emotionally. 22
This person saw what God was doing and the fruit that God wanted to bring from these circumstances. Sometimes we need others around us to push us through the difficult times. If you find yourself in a difficult place today, see where you can sow some seed. Soon you will be reaping songs of joy. If you're like me, you're constantly busy, running here and running there, throughout the day. But Exodus 14:13 NKJV tells us to "Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord." I think that often God is trying to get the answers we need to us, but we're so busy running around that we miss His answer that is right in front of our faces! When you get caught up in your busyness, everyday problems can consume you like a fire consumes a house. And when you are in the middle of that hustle and bustle, you can find yourself running around inside the burning house in a panic trying to find a way out, when the exit is right where it has always been. Father I cast my care on you, I roll I come to you; Lord, when I'm my works on you, Because you are weary and need to slow down, the giver of life, you gave me this for you will give me rest. . life so that I can happily live it for your glory, your blessing are mine today, your favor are my today in Jesus name I claim it

THURSDAY OCTOBER 9TH Limiting Anxious Feelings 1 Peter 5:7 NIV Cast all your anxiety on Him [God] because He cares for you Let's assume you have sought God's will for a certain direction, and you believe that He has led you to make specific plans. The problem is you are still worried about whether your plans will come about as you have hoped. When I'm facing such situations, I try to follow the six steps described below to limit my anxious feelings. First, state the problem. A problem well stated is half solved. In anxious states of mind, people can't see the forest for the trees. Put the problem in perspective. Will it matter for eternity? The danger at this juncture is to seek ungodly counsel. The world is glutted with magicians and sorcerers who will promise incredible results. Their appearance may be striking. Their personality may be charming. But they are bankrupt of character. Avoid them (Psalm 1:1). Second, separate the facts from the assumptions. Since we don't know what's going to happen tomorrow, we make assumptions, and we usually assume the worst. If the assumption is accepted as truth, it will drive your mind to its anxiety limits. Therefore, you must separate assumptions from facts. Third, determine what you have the right or ability to control. You are responsible for that which you can control, and you are not responsible for that which you can't. Don't try to cast your responsibility onto Christ; He will throw it back. Fourth, list everything you can do which is related to the situation that is under your responsibility. When people don't assume their 24
responsibility, they turn to temporary cures for their anxiety, like eating, TV, sex or drugs. Fifth, once you are sure you have fulfilled your responsibility, see if there is any way you can help others. Turning your attention away from your own self-absorption and onto helping people around you is not only the loving thing to do, but it also brings a special inner peace. Sixth, the rest is God's responsibility, except for your prayer, according to Philippians 4:6-8. So assume your responsibility, but cast your anxiety on Christ.
Lord, help me recognize the difference between today's responsibilities and anxieties, then put them in their proper places in Jesus name Amen
Morning Mathew 18 Evening Mathew 19, 20 25
Dear Lord, I come to you, for I labor and am heavy laden and overburdened, and you cause me to rest, you will ease and relieve and refresh my soul forever.
James 4:6-7 Hebrews 4:10-11
FRIDAY OCTOBER 10TH God Honors Faith Where He Finds It God is no respecter of persons in the sense that He would ever favor one individual over another. It is faith that God honors wherever He finds it, regardless of a person's background, nationality, social status, or which church they attend. Hebrews 11 outlines for us many of the men and women of faith in the Bible and what they accomplished by simply believing God's word to them. These were people from all walks of life, but they acted on their faith. Verse 1 NIV defines faith as being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. In other words, we can believe God to move in a situation even before we see the evidence of His moving. That is faith in action-believing for what has not yet happened. No matter what test or need has come into your life, believe that God is going to move on your behalf. Stand on God's Word and be assured that the situation is going to turn around. It may take time, and there is no guarantee the situation will turn out exactly like you want it to, but God is faithful to honor faith where He finds it.
26
Father, in the name of Jesus, I God is no respecter of persons, commit myself to walk in the and my faith moves His heart to word, for you word say my faith act on my behalf. can only grow through your word. Your word is living in me and its producing life in my world . I recognize that your word is integrity itself, steadfast, sure, eternal and I trust my life to its provision in Jesus name Amen.

SATURDAY OCTOBER 11TH Combating Spiritual Blindness 1 John 5:14, 15 If we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him There are several specific needs which we should consider as targets for prayer in spiritual warfare. One need relates to the condition of blindness which Satan has inflicted on unbelievers (1 Corinthians 4:3, 4). People cannot come to Christ unless their spiritual eyes are opened. Theodore Epp wrote, "If Satan has blinded and bound men and women, how can we ever see souls saved? This is where you and I enter the picture. Spoiling the goods of the strong man has to do with liberating those whom Satan has blinded and is keeping bound. . . . This is where prayer comes in." Prayer is a primary weapon in combating spiritual blindness. The apostle John wrote: "If we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him" (1 John 5:14, 15). Then he immediately challenged believers to apply this principle by asking God to bring life to unbelievers (verse 16). Our evangelistic strategy must include authoritative prayer that God's light would penetrate satanic blindness. We also need to pray, as Paul did in Ephesians 1:18, 19, that the eyes of believers may be enlightened to understand the spiritual power, authority and protection which is our inheritance in Christ. As long as Satan can keep us in the dark about our position and authority in Christ, he can keep us stunted in our growth and 28
ineffectual in our witness and ministry. We need to pray for each other continually that Satan's smoke screen of lies will be blown away and that our vision into the spiritual realm will be crystal clear.
Lord, remind me frequently to pray against the deception which the enemy uses to block my vision of your will over my life in Jesus name Amen
Morning Matthew 23 Evening Matthew 24 29
I exalt your word, hold it in high esteem, and give it first place, today I make your word the final authority to settle all question that confront me. I choose to agree with the word of God
Ephesians 6:10, James 5:16
APPRECIATION I live this day with a cheerful heart and in thanksgiving to God. I choose to make this day special, and I will as I act on opportunities to express my appreciation for my blessings. As I begin my day, I look at my surroundings. My home and my office or work space are filled with pictures and other objects that have special meaning for me. My surroundings reflect the grateful attitude with which I approach life every day. Family, friends, and pets are unique blessings in my life. Each one touches my life and enriches it in a unique and valued way. I live this day with a cheerful heart and thanksgiving to God. Tomorrow I will have even more opportunities to show that an appreciative approach to life is one that richly blesses me. “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; teach and admonish one another in all wisdom; and with gratitude in your hearts sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs to God.”—Colossians 3:16
HOLY ONE "Shout aloud and sing for joy, people of Zion, for great is the Holy One of Israel among you." Isaiah 12:6
FROM THE FATHER'S HEART My child, My nature will not allow Me to look at sin. That's why I turned My back on My own Son as He died on the cross. But because His death made a way, you can now enter the holiest of places--My presence. When I look at you, I no longer see your sinfulness. You are My child now. When I look at you, I see Jesus.
A GRATEFUL RESPONSE How can we stand before You, Lord? Clean and pure and holy are you. Yet, in your holiness you have made us acceptable. You have exchanged our ragged clothes of sin for robes of goodness and righteousness. With shoes removed, and head bowed, I praise You, Lord, for you are holy.
SIMPLE TRUTH Once we enter God's holy presence, we are changed forever. 30
Psalm 14:2 The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God. "It won't do you any good. All that talk about God is just a crutch. Do your best, live for the day, then lay down and die." Tim listened to his friend rave on and on, but he never did challenge him. In some ways, he agreed with his friend. Sometimes Jesus was a crutch, but after all, lame people need a crutch. Tim felt like he'd been limping through his entire life before he found Christ. He also believed that God wanted him to do his best and live for the day, but he knew there was more to it than that. Even if all his friends told him that God was a lie, he wouldn't believe it. God was real, and no one could convince him otherwise. Arguments against the existence of God can sound good, but they amount to nothing more than opinion in the face of fact. We walk by faith, not by sight. God is looking for faith-walkers. If we will follow what we know to be true with our hearts, instead of what we can be convinced of in our minds, then God will lead us and sustain us in all that we do. Prayer: Be with me, Lord. All around me are people who attack my faith. Dwell in my heart, and let me feel the reality of your presence within. Amen.

SUNDAY OCTOBER 12TH Give Thought to Your Ways “A simple man believes anything, but a prudent man gives thought to his steps” (Proverbs 14:15). Do you consider yourself to be prudent or wise? The Bible says that one of the characteristics of a prudent person is to give thought to their ways. So many people today just act, or re-act, based on their emotions or circumstances. They let the world around them determine how they should feel or what they should do. They believe everything they hear in the news. When the economy is up, they are up. When the economy is down, they are down. Don’t let that be you today! Give thought to your ways. Submit every decision to the Lord in prayer and allow Him to direct you from inside your heart. Don’t believe everything you hear. Let the Lord guide your steps. As you take time to meditate before the Lord and submit your plans to Him, Proverbs says that your ways will be established. You will find supernatural peace that passes understanding, and you will live in success all the days of your life
32
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your faithfulness to me. Thank You for guiding and directing my steps. Help me each day to give thought to my ways and follow the good plan you have for me. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
I boldly and confidently say that my heart is fixed and established on the solid foundation, the living word of God Amen.

MONDAY OCTOBER 13TH Overpowering the Captors Matthew 12:29 How can anyone enter the strong man's house and carry off his property, unless he first binds the strong man? A prime target for our authoritative prayer is the "strong man" mentioned in Matthew 12:29. Jesus was saying that you cannot rescue people from the bonds of spiritual blindness or demonic influence unless you first overpower their captors. Satan's power is already broken, but he will not let go of anything he thinks he can keep until we exercise the authority delegated to us by the Lord Jesus Christ. When we pray we are not trying to persuade God to join us in our service for Him; prayer is the activity of joining God in His ministry. By faith we lay hold of the property in Satan's clutches which rightfully belongs to God, and we hold on until Satan turns loose. He will hold on to these people until we demand their release on the basis of our authority in Christ. Once Satan is bound through prayer, he must let go. Understanding the spiritual nature of our world should have a profound effect on our evangelistic strategy. All too often we proclaim the virtues of Christianity to unbelievers like someone standing outside a prison compound proclaiming to the inmates the virtues of the outside world. But unless someone overpowers the prison guards and opens the gates, how can the prisoners experience the freedom we're telling them about? We must learn to bind the strong man before we will be able to rescue his prisoners. Bind the strong man over your health, over your finances, over your home, over your family, over 34
your business and experience the freedom of living a happy life in Jesus Christ.
In the name and authority of the Lord Jesus Christ, I command Satan to release those loved ones in my family who are blinded to the truth and whose thoughts are raised up against the knowledge of God and to return them from enemy territory.
Morning Matthew 27 Evening Matthew 28 35
I bind every stronghold that is holding, those things you have freely given to me, in Jesus Name.

TUESDAY OCTOBER 14TH God’s Grace Sets You Free Part 1 Such confidence as this is ours through Christ before God. Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God. (2 Corinthians 3:4-5 NIV) Grace. If you carry away only one thing from these devotionals, my prayer is that it will be a mind-transforming, behavior-altering understanding of God’s infinite, indestructible, and immovable grace. Not just a quick, yet correct sound-bite explanation – like the “unmerited favor of God” – but the deep, ancient meaning of grace that stretches across the depth and breadth and width and height of God’s character. This is on my mind because these devotionals present some high standards for Christian discipleship. My hope is to press us both – myself as well as you – toward an honest assessment of our faith, a deeper commitment to our beliefs, and most importantly a sacrificial, wholly-abandoned love for our Lord. The standard is high; in fact, it’s impossibly high. That’s why we need God’s grace. I can’t, but God can. My confidence is in the healing, cleansing power of Jesus Christ; my competence comes from God and God alone. (2 Corinthians 3:4-5 NIV) Although I strive for these standards in my own life, I repeatedly fail, but that doesn’t mean I should settle for a mediocre, warmedover faith walk or stubbornly hide behind a devilish denial that I did and do fail. I cannot walk the walk without Jesus in me – but with Jesus, I can. Knowing this, I can set my mind on the things above, not focusing on the things below, such as my failures, my strength, my weaknesses, and all the material, temporary matters that keep me 36
focused only on the things in front of me. Instead, I can get out of the way, inviting the Holy Spirit to work a transformation in my life. Whether I succeed or fail, I fall upon the grace of God. I remain immersed in his grace, knowing I cannot create myself holy, but the Spirit of God within me and the blood of Jesus Christ allow me to connect with, and be cleansed by, a holy God. We are God’s workmanship, not creations of our own hand. (Ephesians 2:7-10)
I pray that from your glorious, unlimited resources you will give me mighty inner strength through your Holy Spirit. And I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in my heart as I trust in you. May I be deeply rooted down into the soil of God's marvelous love in Jesus Name Amen.

WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 15TH Worthless Idols "Those who cling to worthless idols forfeit the grace that could be theirs." Jonah 2:8 Have you ever exercised your will over the will of God? Have you ever been so willful that you were going to go your own way no matter what God said? If so, you have been at the same place as the prophet Jonah. God called Jonah to deliver a message to God's people as a warning. Jonah flatly refused. It was Jonah's will over God's. Guess who won? Talk about willpower; Jonah had it! In fact, he was so rebellious toward God's will that he got on a ship to go the opposite direction. But he couldn't go far enough. The omnipotence of God caught up with Jonah, and he was hurled overboard when the seas became rough and the ship's crew figured Jonah was the source of their problems. Overboard he went and into the belly of that big fish. God has a way of getting us to rethink our decisions, to reconsider our position. In fact, we see the extent of Jonah's willfulness by the amount of time he was willing to hang out in the belly of that fish - three full days. Then, Jonah decides enough is enough! Obedience is better than this fish belly and seaweed. From inside the fish, Jonah prayed to the Lord his God. He said: "In my distress I called to the Lord, and He answered me. From the depths of the grave I called for help, and you listened to my cry. You hurled me into the deep, into the very heart of the seas, and the currents swirled about me; all Your waves and breakers swept over me. I said, 'I have been banished from Your sight; yet I will look again toward Your holy temple.' The engulfing waters threatened me, the deep surrounded me; seaweed was wrapped around my head. To the roots of the mountains I sank down; the earth beneath barred me in forever. But You brought my life up from the pit, O Lord my God. When my life was ebbing away, I remembered You, Lord, and my prayer rose to you, to your holy temple. Those who cling to worthless idols forfeit the grace that could be theirs. But I, with a song of thanksgiving, will sacrifice to You. 38
What I have vowed I will make good. Salvation comes from the Lord." And the Lord commanded the fish, and it vomited Jonah onto dry land. Then the word of the Lord came to Jonah a second time: "Go to the great city of Nineveh and proclaim to it the message I give you." Jonah obeyed the word of the Lord and went to Nineveh (Jonah 2:2-3:3a). In the midst of realizing his own calamity, Jonah made a seemingly out-ofcontext statement: "Those who cling to worthless idols forfeit the grace that could be theirs." Jonah was thinking of the sailors who threw him overboard and how they prayed to worthless idols. In the business world, we rub shoulders with those who cling to worthless idols every day. How tragic. But this story's primary message is for every believer. And I can identify with Jonah. There's been many a man placed in the "belly of the fish" to encourage him to fulfill the purposes of God for which He called him. Jonah's situation changed immediately upon his obedience. Obedience is a mysterious thing. Jesus had to learn it through the things He suffered (see Heb. 5:8). If Jesus had to learn obedience through suffering, what does that mean for you and me? Sometimes willing obedience requires encouragement.
Father thank you that you dwell with one who is of a contrite and humble spirit. You revive the Spirit of humble and revive the heart of the contrite one .Thank you that the reward of humility and reverent and worshipful fear of the lord is riches and honor and life
Morning Mark 4 Evening Mark 5 39

Isaiah 57:15, 1 Peter 5:5-6
THURSDAY OCTOBER 16TH Jesus Is With You Do you ever wonder if you're going to make it? Or if God really cares about your problems? When Jesus' disciples rode with Him in a boat that was struck by a deadly storm, they cried, "Master, don't You care that we perish?" (Mark 4:38). There may have been times when you've said, "Lord, do You care? I've prayed; I've read the Bible; I've gone to church; I've listened to your Word on TV and radio; but I don't know if You are going to answer my prayers or not." If you have wondered if God cares about your concerns, you don't have to wonder anymore. He does care. When the disciples cried out to Jesus, the Bible says, He arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm (Luke 8:24). What does this show you? It shows that anything that happened to the disciples in that boat would have happened to Jesus. He was right there on the same boat in the same storm experiencing what they experienced. And He cared. This tells me that Jesus is so close to you that He feels your storms too. He knows when you're afraid and when you wonder if He's forgotten who you are. Just look at what happened when the disciples called on the Lord to take control of the storm. Verse 26 says, And they arrived. That's right-they arrived! They got through the storm. They reached the other side safely! No matter what you're going through today, Jesus is with you, and He cares. Hold fast to Him in faith, for He can take you through any storm safely! 40
I cast my burden on you, lord releasing the weight of it and you will sustain me; I thank you that you will never allow me to be dismayed , neither to be moved, made to slip, fall, or fail. You will deliver me because you are my great deliverer in Jesus name Amen.
Morning Mark 6 Evening Mark 7 41

FRIDAY OCTOBER 17TH Walk in the Ways of Your Heart “…Follow the ways of your heart…” (Ecclesiastes 11:9). When you become born again, you receive a new spirit—God’s Spirit on the inside of you. The Bible often calls this your heart. If you look at the word “heart”, you’ll see the word “ear” in the middle. The ear that you hear with is in the center of your heart. Your heart is where the Lord speaks to you. It’s easy for the cares of this world to become like loud noise that drowns out the still, small inner voice. But if you’ll set aside time every day to be with the Lord and acknowledge Him in everything you do, you will hear Him more clearly, and you will have confidence to walk in the ways of your heart. God wants to give you the desires of your heart, but it’s only when you submit your heart fully to Him. Is there anything that you are holding back from the Lord today? Release it to Him. You can trust Him to lead your heart down a good path. You can trust Him to lead you down a path of victory in every area of your life.
42
Heavenly Father, help me to hear your voice clearly. I surrender every area of my heart to you today and ask that you remove anything that displeases you. Thank You for leading me on a good path of life. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
Father teach me to do your will, for you are my God; let your good Spirit lead me into higher ground today in Jesus name Amen

SATURDAY OCTOBER 18TH The Ultimate Faith-Object Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today, and forever The fact that you claim to believe is not the issue of faith. It's what you believe or in whom you believe that will determine whether or not your faith will be rewarded. Everybody walks by faith every day. Every time you drive on the highway, you do so by faith. Are the objects of your faith on the highway reliable? Most of the time they are because most drivers drive safely. But you may have been involved in an accident because you placed your faith in another driver who proved to be untrustworthy. What happens when the object of your faith fails you? You give up on it-maybe not immediately, but how many failures would you tolerate before saying never again? Once faith is damaged or lost, it is very difficult to regain. Your belief isn't the problem; it's the object of your belief that either rewards or destroys your faith. If your marriage partner has been unfaithful to you, or a friend or relative has hurt you badly, your faith in that person is weak because he or she did not live up to your trust. When faith in a person is shattered, it may take months to rebuild it. Some faith-objects, however, are solid. You set your watch, plan your calendar, and schedule your day believing that the earth will continue to revolve on its axis and rotate around the sun at its current speed. If the earth's orbit shifted just a few degrees, our lives would be turned to chaos. But so far the laws governing the physical universe have been among the most trustworthy faith-objects we have.
44
The ultimate faith-object, of course, is not the sun, but the Son. It is His immutability--the fact that He never changes--that makes Him eminently trustworthy (Numbers 23:19; Malachi 3:6). He has never failed to be and do all that He said He would be and do. He is eternally faithful.
Father I humble myself under your All I have needed your hand has mighty hand that in due time you provided. Great is your faithfulmay exalt me. I cast the whole of ness, Lord, unto me. my cares, all my anxieties, all my worries, all my concern, once and for all on you; you care for me affectionately and care about me watchfully. You are my sustainer, my great redeemer, my all in all; I reverence your name in Jesus name Amen. Morning Mark 10 Evening Mark 11 45
Philippians 4:6-8 2 Corinthians 10:5
PURPOSE The light-filled presence of God stirs within my soul. I am at peace. Because God’s spirit is always shining within me, so, too, is the peace of God always radiating within me and from me. In prayer and meditation, I become more aware of peace within my soul and connect with a tranquility that flows from the very core of my being. Aware of the sacred stirring of this holy Presence, I breathe easily and fully, relaxing into the absolute peace that is there for me. Even in my times of busy activity, I radiate a calm and confidence that are evident in my communication with others. As I bring the peace of God into all that I do today, I alleviate the tension of those around me. Inner peace shines through the expression on my face and the words that I speak. I am calm and understanding. “No one after lighting a lamp puts it under the bushel basket, but on the lamp stand, and it gives light to all in the house.”—Matthew 5:15
GLORIOUS CROWN In that day the Lord Almighty will be a glorious crown, a beautiful wreath for the remnant of his people. Isaiah 28:5
FROM THE FATHER'S HEART My child, I know you are weary at times. Like a runner who hits an invisible wall, you will be faced with choices. Will you continue or surrender? Just remember I'm on either side of you, cheering you on to victory. I will be your strength. The finish line is in sight. Run the race with persistence!
A GRATEFUL RESPONSE When earth's joys fade, and its pleasures lose their allure, only one thing remains of value--You, Lord, and only You. A relationship with You is better than ten thousand rewards on earth. You are my crown, Lord. You are my wreath of victory at the end of the race.
SIMPLE TRUTH The joys we experience in our journey on earth can't compare to the treasures waiting in heaven. 46
Psalm 14:4 Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? Who eat up my people as they eat bread, and call not upon the Lord. Cory rode along the street on his bicycle, lighting huge firecrackers and tossing them onto the doorsteps of houses along the way. He would listen for the mighty explosions and then laugh as frightened home owners came to the door to see what had happened. His terrorizing spree came to an end as one firecracker with too short a fuse blew up in Cory's hand, severely injuring him. Do the people who abuse and oppress others really think there is no penalty to pay for what they do? It seems that way. Workers of iniquity who pride themselves on their brilliance and accomplishment are in fact some of the most ignorant people alive. Those who do not know the Lord, do not know much of anything. True knowledge and wisdom comes through love and respect of the one who died to make our salvation possible: Jesus Christ. Prayer: O Lord, steer me away from those who, through ignorance of You, cause pain and destruction. Help me, instead, to build up and defend all that is right and good. Amen

SUNDAY OCTOBER 19TH An Appointment with God "The Lord God called to Adam, 'Where are you?' "Genesis 3:9 In addition to walking in harmony with God, Amos 3:3 provides another nuance of meaning. It also gives the idea of keeping an appointment. Did you know that you have an appointment with God? You do. It is there, written in eternity. In fact, God wants to meet with you on a regular basis. I wonder just how many times each day God wants to speak to us and He can't get a word in edgewise? The Lord might say, "I have wanted to talk to you for a long time, but you are too busy. This morning, I wanted to talk to you, but you didn't have any time for me. You read the newspapers and watched TV and talked on the phone. You never opened the Word. You never prayed. At lunch, I tried to say something, but your prayer was so fast. Later, I tried to talk with you. You have been so busy. You have an appointment with me. Why don't you keep it?" Remember how Adam had an appointment with God every day in the Garden of Eden? He would hear the voice of the Lord in the garden in the cool of the evening. One day, Adam missed that appointment because of sin. God said to Adam, "Where are you?" I wonder if the Lord would say that to some of us each day: "Where are you? Where were you? I have been looking for you. I wanted to speak to you. I want you to walk with me, and I want to walk with you." Just imagine, the Creator of the Universe wants to spend time with you. Is there any appointment that is worth keeping more than this one? 48
Father helps me to spend time I rest in you, awaiting the Maniwith you because you are my light festation of all that I required and my salvation; whom shall I and inquired of you . fear? You are the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Father you have given me the desire of my heart. You have heard and answered my prayers. To you be the glory! For all the wonderful and great things you have done in my life. I choose to surrender my will and Emotion to you, direct my footsteps so that I can continue to do your will in Jesus name Amen.

MONDAY OCTOBER 20TH Guided By One Spirit I beg you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ to stop arguing among yourselves. Let there be real harmony so that there won't be splits in the church. I plead with you to be of one mind, united in thought and purpose. (1 Corinthians 1:10 LB) In any argument, our objective should be to love – not win. It’s much harder to love than it is to simply win, and the truth is, we do “win” when we let God’s love flow through us into any disagreement. Love always wins; God proves the point by the resurrection of Jesus Christ. What does this mean? Apply mercy more than fairness (Proverbs 3:3-6) – We must abandon the idea of “fair.” God's approach is never based on what we perceive as fair. (Romans 5:8) When other believers treat us unfairly or fail to carry their load, God calls us to meet them where they are, applying mercy in the relationship. Let God tell you what is true (2 Corinthians 13:8) – Your feelings or thoughts do not determine truth (1 John 4:1), and the opinions of others – even a majority – do not have the final word. Truth is what God says it is; he is the lone authority for interpreting any situation. (2 Corinthians 10:5) God is with you in the conflict (Matthew 26:52) – The enemy wants us to think the battle is ours alone, and when we believe that, we fight like we’re separated from God. Simon Peter provides an example: His use of blustery words, swords, curses, and lies were all desperate attempts to care for himself. He battled as if he were separated from God. Like the shepherd boy and future king, David, believe the battle is the Lord's and trust the outcome to him. (1 Samuel 17:47) Think like Jesus (1 Corinthians 2:15-16) – We’re to not lean on our own understanding (Proverbs 3:5), because what appears to be Prayer draws us into the eternal perspective so we're no longer locked in a temporal point of view. It's prayer that gives us God's interpretation, revealing to us his story on the conflict. (Ephesians 6:13-18 NIV) 50
right could very well be wrong. (Proverbs 14:12) Instead, we’re to rely on the holy logic of Christ, where the interests of others are placed above our own. See past others to the real source of conflict (Ephesians 6:12) – The Bible teaches that other people are not the real enemy; rather it is Satan’s “unseen spiritual forces of wickedness.” Until we fully believe this, we’ll never get to the root of the conflict, and we’re prone to keep repeating the cycle. Stop using ‘human’ weapons (2 Corinthians 10:4-5) – Any method we use to get our own needs met apart from God is a weapon of the flesh. These include manipulation, gossip, slander, ridicule, threats, blame, nagging, deception, and silence. They push us into an “evil for evil” cycle, and that’s like trying to fight a skunk with “stink” – everybody loses! Start using ‘Spirit’ weapons (Eph. 6:13-18) – Prayer: Many Christians never think to pray together when an argument breaks out, yet prayer re-centers us, reminding us who God is and who we are as his children. In the name of Jesus, I put on the Dear Father shields me with your whole armor of God, that I may be spirit today, so that my day will able to stand against the wiles o the produce victory. devil; for I wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, power and the rulers of darkness of this world, and spiritual wickedness in high places. Therefore I take unto me myself the whole armor of God that I may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all to stand, I stand therefore with my armor and proclaim my victory in Jesus name

TUESDAY OCTOBER 21ST God’s Grace Sets You Free Part 11 If we don’t understand God’s grace, we stand in danger of growing weary in our walk with God, descending into a quiet resignation that the abundant life is just a notion to describe our “sweet by-and-by” future in heaven. Or we’re in danger of descending into legalism, believing we can somehow reach God’s holy standard through our own efforts. In effect, we’re saying we can achieve godliness without God’s power! We behave as if we become one of God’s children by the things we do or the things we don’t do and not from the extraordinary grace of God. As if. We become like the foolish Galatians, who began their Christian walk with the Spirit, but then they began to behave as if godly goals could be reached by human effort. (Galatians 3:1-5 NIV) The apostle Paul, who struggled with legalism, taught the Galatians that the law was only put in charge to lead us to the grace of Christ. (Galatians 3:23-25) The Spirit of the living God transforms us by writing the law into our hearts rather than on simple stone tablets. (2 Corinthians 3:3) The godly standard is set within, where it cannot be lost, diminished, or forgotten, instead of on tablets of stone that can be broken, misplaced, or simply ignored. So, you and I – my sister, my brother – we share in an inheritance from God, and that inheritance comes from grace. In fact, that inheritance is God’s grace. You need not fear failure – God’s grace allows you to live boldly. “For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love, and of self-discipline.” (2 Timothy 1:7 NIV) 52
Your good works will be powered by God’s grace – “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (Ephesians 2:810 NIV) Let your roots take hold in the soil of Christ – My friend, today
Father I cling to your ways, obeying your word over my life has been a way of victory, I rest my final judgment with your word, guard me and lead me to that place of my victory. I listen carefully and hear what is being said to me. I incline my ear to wisdom and apply my heart to understanding and insight. Humility and fear of you brings wealth and honor and life to me, I will continue to live by the principles of your living word in Jesus name Amen.
Today I will live and learn to obey your command, where you lead me I will follow, for my obedience is better than sacrifice.

WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 22ND You Can Live in Victory! When I was younger, I ran from God and from His call on my life because I associated God with a message of defeat. All of my life I’d heard people say things like, “Woe is me.” They let me know that if I did anything wrong, God would “get me.” I decided all that gloom and defeat just wasn’t for me. But then I heard the Bible’s message of victory! I found out that Jesus destroyed the works of the devil, and because of my covenant with Him, failure and defeat weren’t in my future. When I learned that, I grabbed a hold of it with everything that was in me, and I answered God’s call to the ministry. I preached my very first sermon in a little church on a Wednesday night. I was so excited about the message of victory that I figured everyone in the place wanted to hear it. So I preached Jesus’ words from John 16:33: In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. As I was preaching, suddenly a man stood up and challenged me. He shouted, “Jesus said that in the world we would have tribulation!” And the people said, “Amen.” I answered, “Yes, sir, that’s what it says. But if you’re going to quote Jesus, please finish the quote.” He said, “I don’t know the end of the quote. All I know is that in the world we’re going to have tribulation.” Too many of us are like that man, looking only at the trials. But Jesus wants us to identify with the “overcoming,” not the tribulation. It’s true that as long as we’re in this world, we’ll have trials. 54
But Jesus has deprived them of their power to harm us! As we believe and trust in His Word, we can live in that victory! The good news is that no matter what you are going through today, have this at the back of your mind that Jesus has overcome that situation for you, just walk out of it into your victory.
Through you lord, I can overIn the name of Jesus, I cast the whole of my care, all my anxieties, come every trial and walk in my all my worries, all my concerns for victory today ! my future, once and for all on you, for you care for me affectionately and care about me watchfully, I expect a life of victory and awesome deeds because my actions are done on behalf of a spirit humbly submitted to your truth and righteousness. THURSDAY OCTOBER 23RD Keep Asking “For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened” (Matthew 7:8). Is there something you are believing God for? Does it seem like it’s taking a long time to come to pass? Be encouraged today! The Bible says that through faith and patience you will inherit the promise. You can trust that God’s Word is true. Submit your prayers to the Lord, and keep an attitude of faith and expectancy. Keep asking. Keep seeking. Keep knocking on the door, and it will be opened to you. It may seem like it’s taking a long time, but know this: God is working behind the scenes on your behalf. He is orchestrating things in your favor. He is perfecting whatever concerns you. Don’t give up! Start thanking God for His faithfulness in your life. As you stay faithful in your prayers and thanksgiving, the Lord will move mightily on your behalf. He’ll take you places that you’ve never dreamed, and you will live the life of victory He has in store for you!
56
Father in heaven, thank You for giving me a diligent spirit. Thank You for Your faithfulness. Give me strength to stand until I see your promises fulfilled in my life. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Colossians 1:13-15 Psalm 139:13-19
FRIDAY OCTOBER 24TH Your Journey Toward Christ John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal, and kill, and destroy How do evil spirits interfere with our lives? Let me answer with a simple illustration. Imagine that you are standing at one end of a long, narrow street lined on both sides with two-story row houses. At the other end of the street stands Jesus Christ and your Christian life is the process of walking down that long street of maturity toward Him. There is absolutely nothing in the street which can keep you from reaching Jesus. So, when you receive Christ, you fix your eyes on Him and start walking. But since this world is still under the dominion of Satan, the row houses on either side of you are inhabited by beings who are committed to keeping you from reaching your goal. They have no power or authority to block your path or even slow your step, so they hang out of the windows and call to you, hoping to turn your attention away from your goal and disrupt your progress by tempting you, accusing you and deceiving you. What is the enemy's goal in having his demons jeer you, taunt you, lure you, and question you from the windows and doorways along your path? He wants you to slow down, stop, sit down, and, if possible, give up your journey toward Christ. He wants to influence you to doubt your ability to believe and serve God. Remember: he has absolutely no power or authority to keep you from steadily progressing in your walk toward Christ. And he can never again own you, because you have been redeemed by Jesus Christ and you are forever in Him (1 Peter 1:18, 19). But if he can get you to listen to the thoughts he plants in your mind, he can influence you. And if you allow him to influence you
58
long enough through temptation, accusation and deception, he can control you. If I could influence you to believe a lie, could I control your life? Yes. Let's fix our eyes on Jesus, "the author and perfecter of faith" (Hebrews 12:2) and take "every thought captive to the obedience of Christ" (2 Corinthians 10:5). Your everyday to success lies in your ability to follow Jesus every day.
Father, I ask for a complete understanding of what you want to do in my life, and I ask you to make me wise with spiritual wisdom. That the way I live will always honor and please you. And I will continually do good, kind things to other, all the while , I learn to know you better and better. Father you have destined and appointed me to come progressively to know your will that is to perceive, to recognize more intimately acquainted with your will. I thank you father, for the Holy Spirit who abides permanently in me and who guides me into all the truth in Jesus name I pray Amen
Morning Luke 6 Evening Luke 7 59
I have the wisdom to build and recreate my world today, because Jesus has been made unto me wisdom.
Ephesians 1:5 Colossians 1:9-10
SATURDAY OCTOBER 25TH A Light in the Dark "Enoch lived 365 years in all. He enjoyed a close relationship with God throughout his life. Then suddenly, he disappeared because God took him." Genesis 5:23-24 Enoch lived at a unique time in history, prior to God's judgment by the Flood. People of Enoch's day were really wicked. So wicked, in fact, that God was sorry He ever created them. Scripture tells us of that time that all their thoughts were "consistently and totally evil" (Genesis 6:5). But in the midst of this dark environment was an individual who walked with God. Enoch shows us that it is possible to live a godly life in an ungodly world. We also read in Hebrews 11:5 that Enoch was pleasing to God. We too can live our lives in a way that pleases God. How? We can start by finding out what God specifically says is pleasing to Him. Here are a few from the pages of Scripture: 1. God is pleased when, in spite of the fact that we are in the right, we patiently endure when misunderstood (see 1 Peter 2:19). 2. God is pleased when children obey their parents (see Colossians 3:20). 3. God is pleased when we worship Him and help others (see Hebrews 13:15). 4. God is pleased when we give to the work of the kingdom (see Philippians 4:17). Of course, as you read and study God's Word, you'll discover other things that please Him. Some people have the mistaken notion that God is very difficult to please. He is not. He loves you. He knows all about you. Your failures do not come as a surprise to Him. He wants the very best for you. His resources are at your disposal. He is patient with you.
60
Enoch had this testimony: he pleased God. How is your testimony today?
Father help me today to live a life that will please you, in all my ways I want to acknowledge you so that my ways will prosper and I will continue to have good report, help me lord in Jesus name I pray Amen
Morning Luke 8 Evening Luke 9 61

Ephesians 5:16 Acts 22:14
Joy I rejoice in the transformative power of God’s love. In preparing His followers for His death and resurrection, Jesus told them: “So you have pain now; but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you.” He was explaining that the pain of separation is followed by joy that comes through acceptance and reconciliation. I know that the joy I experience is a reflection of the love of God within me. And while I may experience pain in a particular moment, joy is always within me, waiting to be expressed and embraced. Experiencing God’s love in prayer, I am open to joy that cannot be lessened or taken away from me. I rejoice, knowing that all things are possible with God! “You bestow on him blessings forever; you make him glad with the joy of your presence.”—Psalm 21:6 LIGHT OF THE WORLD "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." John 8:12 FROM THE FATHER'S HEART My child, have you ever stumbled through the dark in the middle of the night? Why would you choose to go through life the same way? I will be your flashlight, giving you only as much light as you need for the moment. Stop living in the dark. Turn on the light. A GRATEFUL RESPONSE Wherever I go, You are a light by day and a beacon by night, shining brightly to point me to shore. There is no place too dark for Your light to shine and no corner too remote. Like sunshine on a cloudy day, You burst forth with radiance. You are my sunshine, Lord. SIMPLE TRUTH Just like a hallowed, shining star, His light bids us follow Him, wherever we are. 62
Psalm 13:3 Consider and hear me, O Lord my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death. Bill was beginning to doubt his faith. He had been confirmed into a church almost twenty years ago, he had once read the Bible regularly, and he still prayed occasionally, always at meals. Still, he felt like he was just stumbling through life like a sleepwalker. Nothing seemed to matter, and Bill felt that his life laced purpose. There had to be something more, but Bill was wondering what it was. If the Lord is not a real and vital part of our lives, then we are only half living. God renews us and puts purpose into our being. We are spiritual batteries which constantly need to be recharged. We cannot be recharged apart from the power source: Jesus Christ. The Bible, the church, fellowship with other believers, prayer; these and many other activities draw us close to God and therefore energize our spiritual lives. Draw close to God and feel the power. It's waiting right now, and it is given freely. Prayer: Energize my life with the power of Your Holy Spirit, Lord. Grant that I might live life fully, not halfway. Open my eyes to the glorious life I have been given. Amen.

FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 26TH Fearless Living in Fearful Times We live in frightening times. All around us, there are threats of violence unlike any we have seen before. In the news, war and distresses in this days. More than two thousand years ago, Jesus' disciples knew what it was like to experience fear and worry as they faced an uncertain future. Jesus said something they really hadn't heard Him say before. He told them He would be leaving, and it turned their world—as they knew it—upside down. But then He went on to share some words to calm their troubled hearts. These words ring true in light of world events today and can calm our troubled hearts as well. Let's consider what Jesus said to His disciples: "Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also." (John 14:1–3 NKJV) Jesus starts by saying, "Let not your heart be troubled." Another way to translate this phrase is, "Don't be agitated or disturbed or thrown into confusion." He didn't say, "Mull over your problems." Rather, He said, "Don't be troubled." Life is filled with troubles. It seems that once you have one problem resolved, three more take its place. Job 5:7 says, "Man is born to trouble, as the sparks fly upward" (NKJV). It is so true. From the moment we come into this life, there are all kinds of troubles awaiting us. 64
Although there are reasons to be troubled in life, there are greater reasons to not be troubled. In Jesus' words, we find three reasons why we don't have to be gripped by fear, and why we can find hope in hopeless times.
Lord you are my light and my salMy child fear not for I am God vation; you protect me from danwith you all the days of your life. ger-whom shall I fear? When evil men come to destroy me they will stumble and fall! Yes, though a mighty army marches against me, my heart shall no fear. I am confident that you will save me from all troubles and grant me victory in all my ways in Jesus name amen

Hebrew 13:6, Psalm 41: 10-13
SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 27TH Chosen to Be Holy “For He chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight” (Ephesians 1:4). Did you know that God had a plan for you before the foundation of the earth? He created you to be holy and blameless in His sight. Why did He do that? He chose you to be His ambassador, or representative, on the earth. God created you to reflect His glory. He created you to reflect His character, His righteousness, His holiness. Think about that for a moment. Part of your purpose on this earth is to be a representative for the King of kings and the Lord of lords. Let that sink in deeply on the inside of you. Knowing that should make you want to walk a little differently. It should make you want to talk differently. That should make you think a little more carefully about where you go and what you choose to do with your time. Are you representing God’s holiness today? Remember, what God’s called you to do, He’s equipped you to do. If there are things in your life that aren’t holy, God wants to empower you to overcome those things. Receive His strength and might today so that you can walk in holiness and live the abundant life He has for you.
66
Heavenly Father, thank You for choosing me today. I ask you to search my heart and remove anything that is displeasing in your sight. I accept your holiness today. In Jesus’ Name. Amen

SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 28TH Worry in Reverse You probably know people who brag that they've read fifty or more pages of the Bible in one sitting, or they've read Isaiah thirtythree times, or they can quote the Bible "six ways backwards." But in many instances, the Word didn't get in them-they were just reading print on pages. Psalm 1:2 tells us that we are blessed when we meditate on the Word day and night. That's totally different from just reading the Word. So how do you meditate on the Bible? You take a verse, then look at each word and think about the words. The verse might say, "But he"-who is he? He is Jesus. Who is Jesus? Jesus is our Savior, our Deliverer, and our Healer. That's how you meditate on the Word. You take each word and think about it. I like to think of meditation as "worry in reverse." Instead of dwelling on a bad report you may have received, you meditate on the Word of God. You absorb the Word. That's how you retain the Word so that it becomes part of you. When it gets inside you, it's got to come out, because out of the abundance of the heart your mouth speaks (Matthew 12:34). Then, when Satan tries to attack you, the Word will come up out of your mouth, and you can defeat him in the authority of Jesus' name!
68
Today, Father help to rest my victory on your word, as I meditate on your word it give me the strength to overcome every temptation that comes on my way, and set me in the height of my victory, I rest my believed on you word. In Jesus Name Amen.
Morning Haggai 1 Evening Haggai 2 69

MONDAY SEPTEMBER 29TH The Definition Of Discipleship 1 Thessalonians 5:11 Encourage one another, and build up one another, just as you also are doing Jesus' primary call to His disciples is seen in His words "Come to Me" (Matthew 11:28) and "Follow Me" (Matthew 4:19). Mark records: "He appointed twelve, that they might be with Him, and that He might send them out to preach, and to have authority to cast out the demons" (Mark 3:14, 15). Notice that Jesus' relationship with His disciples preceded His assignment to them. Discipleship is the intensely personal activity of two or more persons helping each other experiences a growing relationship with God. Discipleship is being before doing, maturity before ministry, character before career. Every Christian, including you, is both a disciple and a discipler in the context of his Christian relationships. You have the awesome privilege and responsibility both to be a teacher and a learner of what it means to be in Christ, walk in the spirit and live by faith. You may have a role in your family, church or Christian community which gives you specific responsibility for discipling others, such as husband/father, pastor, Sunday school teacher, discipleship group leader, etc. You have the opportunity to help your children, your friend, and other believers grow in Christ through your caring and committed relationship with them. Similarly, every Christian is both a counselor and counselee in the context of his Christian relationships. 70
A good counselor should be a good discipler, and a good discipler should be a good counselor. Biblically, they are the same role. Your level of maturity may dictate that you do a lot of Christian counseling. But there will still be times when you need to seek or receive the counsel of other Christians. There will never be a day when we don't need each other.
Father, help me remember that I will never be so mature that I need not receive godly counsel from my brothers and sisters in Christ.
Morning Zechariah 1,23 Evening Zechariah 4,5,6,7 71
Help to fulfill my responsibility today in been a good disciple to others and for me to be a good follower in Jesus Name.
1 Corinthians 14: 1, Ephesians 5:1,2
TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 30TH Running Over “Give and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap” (Luke 6:38). God is a God of abundance! He wants to pour out His abundance on you until you are so full that you are running over with God’s goodness. And notice how this verse starts. It says, “Give, and it will be given to you.” Your giving sets the blessing of God into motion in your life. Giving is like a seed. When you plant an apple seed, it doesn’t just grow a single fruit. That one seed grows a tree that grows an abundance of apples. That’s what happens when you obey God in your giving. You get an abundant harvest in return. And when the blessing is “running over”, you have so much that you have to give more, and the cycle just keeps repeating itself! Is there something the Lord is telling you to give today? It can be financial or material. What do you have in your hand that you can bless someone else with? Take a step today and set the blessing of God into motion in your life. Open the door for His blessing to be running over in your life today!
