our qualifications explained

Edexcel BTEC qualifications and the QCF The Edexcel BTEC standard suite of qualifications formally sits on the UK Qualifications and Credit Framework (UK QCF) for England Wales and Northern Ireland. The UK QCF recognises skills and qualifications by awarding credits for units (small steps of learning), enabling students to gain qualifications at their own pace and along flexible routes. The UK QCF replaced the National Qualifications Framework (UK NQF) for England, Wales and Northern Ireland in September 2010. The following table gives a comparative overview of the key differences between the two frameworks.

HANDY Information Make sure your students’ achievement is fully evidenced BTEC assignments in performing arts and music often involve students in all kinds of practical activities. Making sure individual achievement is captured can sometimes be tricky, particularly when students are taking part in ‘process-based’ tasks such as rehearsals. The new specifications include detailed advice on appropriate forms of evidence for each unit. Always check that the evidence asked for in an assignment matches the assessment requirements of the unit.

Public and Uniformed Services

‘ I save lives for a living thanks to BTEC.

I would recommend this to anyone wanting to get into the Public Service ’ A BTEC to get you noticed

The Uniformed and Public Services require highly skilled and trained individuals to fulfil their obligations to the general public. Whether this be with the police force, fire service, local or national government or serving in the armed forces there are challenges that only those who are thoroughly prepared and trained can respond to properly. The BTEC courses listed here are all targeted at encouraging those considering a career in the public service to reflect on what that will mean for them, the additional responsibilities that come with being a public servant, and the particular personal and practical qualities that these services are looking for in their new recruits.
