Information for Employers Pearson in Practice Apprenticeship Training Agency (ATA)
At Pearson in Practice we recognise that there are many factors for employers to consider in deciding whether to take on an apprentice. How will you recruit a good apprentice? Can you make the commitment during the current economic climate? Will you be able to support them? Will you be able to support an apprentice with personal issues? What about HR/Payroll issues? To make taking on an apprentice as simple as possible, we have created the Pearson in Practice Apprenticeship Training Agency (ATA). The ATA links all the parties involved in a successful Apprenticeship; the employer, the apprentice and the training provider. We support employers who cannot currently commit to employing an apprentice but know that they will need fully trained employees to help future growth. We can help with safe recruitment, payroll, apprentice support and all areas of the Apprenticeship where employers need help. The ATA employs the apprentice. We place them with a host employer and charge that host employer a fee that pays the apprentice’s wages and helps us to cover our costs. We take away the risk from you on taking on an apprentice, even providing advice such as the safeguarding of younger employees.

Our new offering of first class IT training programmes are built by the leading technology vendors and are delivered nationwide by a highly qualified team of IT trainers. Having trained and prepared apprentices to pass vendor certifications, such as CompTIA A+ and Microsoft MCTS Windows 7, we consider ourselves specialists in certification preparation. Consequently we have put together certification bundles which are competitively priced and aimed at getting people trained in the real world. We appreciate that one size does not fit all and will work with organisations to deliver flexible, effective training that meets specific requirements. The courses are offered in 30 locations throughout the country, making the training sessions easily accessbile. In addition, we are able to offer private or customised courses to our customers at their own locations if they have suitable resources in house.
