You don’t have much time! WELCOME HOME PFC Ryan Patrick, son of Jeff and Wendy Patrick was welcomed home in Cypress Point recently. PFC Patrick is with the Texas Army National Guard, US Army, Delta Company 787th Military Police. Family and neighbors welcomed him with a party. He will be deployed to Africa in January of next year for a years deployment. Please accept a big “Thank You” from all of Cypress Point for your dedication to your Country and the continuous fight for our freedom. Until you arrive home again, may God watch over you and keep you safe! VETERANS DAY – NOVEMBER 11TH For it has been said so truthfully that it is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us the freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the agitator, who has given us the freedom to protest. HOUSTON SALUTES AMERICAN HEROES On Friday, November 11, 2011, the City of Houston will show support of our Armed Forces as we celebrate the 13th Annual Houston Salutes American Heroes Veterans Day Commemoration and Parade. The ceremony begins at 10:00 a.m. on the steps of City Hall. The American Heroes Parade will follow at 11:30 a.m. 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. AT&T Veterans Job Fair ... The job fair booths are free for hiring companies. Please contact Susan Bono at susan.bono@houstontx.gov. 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Walgreens Veterans Health Fair SHERIFF’S OFFICE GOES MOBILE HARRIS COUNTY — When Harris County residents see something suspicious, they can now instantaneously let the sheriff’s office know about it by using their mobile phones. The sheriff’s office launched a free mobile application, iWatchHarrisCounty, Sept. 9. The application allows users to text tips, photos and videos of suspicious and criminal activities directly to the sheriff’s office while remaining anonymous or, if they choose, with their identity. “The iWatchHarrisCounty app helps us reach out to a digitally connected community in ways never before possible,” said Sheriff Adrian Garcia in a press release. “Nowadays, almost everyone has a cell phone or a computer.
