We had a FANGtastic time during Halloween in our Cherry Creek neighborhood! There were lots of little boys and ghouls going from house to spooky house looking for devil’s food! There were hoards of wonderfully decorated haunted houses in our neighborhood, and many of our neighbors voted for their favorite scary yard! The winner of this year’s “Most Spooktacular Yard Award” goes to 3303 Silkgrass Bend—their frightening graveyard with skeletons, zombies and creepy-crawlies made many young goblins run to their mummies! The names on the tombstones were especially clever and creepy. The lucky winners will receive a gift card from the Texenza coffee house. They will be able to drink loads of caffeinated beverages which will help them stay up all night haunting their supernatural and super-creative graveyard! Honorable mention goes to 3217 Silk Oak Drive with another bone-chilling graveyard and lots of ghostly lights. Also, 9309 Lightwood Loop put up a terrifically terrifying inflatable skeleton playing the organ and accompanied by hoards of ghosts in their haunted woods. I would love to hear the eerie cacophonous music that band of spooks would play! We really appreciate all of the frightening and fantastic Halloween decorations which make our neighborhood fun and inviting – we see that people really got into the spirit of things. Fangs so much to all the voters who showed their appreciation for the devilish decorations to die for! Keep your eyes peeled (mummies, keep the rest of your bodies wrapped!) for the ballot for the Winter Holiday decoration contest.

Merry Christmas to our Neighbors
We hope everyone has enjoyed the arrival of fall with the cooler weather and recently, even some rain! Our thanks to everyone who participated in the Halloween Spooktacular for making the effort to join in with their neighbors and create some fun for the little folks who like to trick or treat. I know I certainly enjoyed hearing “The Monster Mash” on Halloween night in Silk Oak Cove! It is also excellent to see so many folks starting to string up their lights and getting ready to decorate for Christmas ! It adds a special sparkle to our enjoyment of the season and really shows off Cherry Creek on Brodie in a wonderful way. Be sure to check further along in the newsletter for a ballot so you and your families can vote for your favorites. Make sure your ballots are in the mailbox on the marquee in the front park by 5 o’clock pm on December 20th. Also, please keep watch when checking your mail around the middle of the month for a flyer and information on our 2012 Membership Drive. As most folks are aware, our $60 annual dues enable the board to maintain the landscaping, sprinkler system, monuments and marquee at the entrance to the subdivision and in the front park, as well as to underwrite family social events during each year. We always appreciate your willingness to join us in our efforts to keep CCoBL a well maintained, safe and welcoming environment for our families and friends. 2011 will be remembered as The Year of the First Annual Halloween Spooktacular ! Our thanks to some of the newest members of our board of directors, including Valerie Learman and Beth Bernstein, and others who are spend most of their volunteer time working on our ever popular Yard of the Month program.
