Lakemont Living Official Newsletter for the Residents of Lakemont
Volume 3, Issue 1
Lakemont Living Introduction
Welcome to 2012 fellow residents! As we embark on a new year lets pause for a little reflection on 2011 and all the successful events and progress that has been made within the community. We now have a new automated marquee to keep everyone up to date on community activities, pet stations shave been installed around the community to help residents maintain our green areas and walking trails, we opened new sections on the west end of the community to further the growth and add value to our neighborhood, we held successful holiday events throughout the year and reduced crime in the neighborhood with the help of our security patrol. Lakemont is a beautiful place to live and I know we all appreciate the amenities and landscape that provides a nice backdrop to our lives. I would encourage everyone to get involved this year to help maintain the community and make it a fun place to live. Join a committee or group, become a block captain, volunteer at an event or just be a good neighbor. Here’s wishing everyone a prosperous and Happy New Year! Kristina J. Lakemont Living Chair WOULD YOU LIKE TO BECOME A BLOCK CAPITAIN?

Have a question about the community or surrounding area? Ever wonder about new development or want opinions on good restaurants or entertainment venues in the area? Send your questions to lakemontliving@yahoo.com and I’ll do my best to find out the answers! It’s true that you’re probably not the only one wondering about things in our area. The question this month has been posed to the Homeowner’s Association and Developer by several residents and I myself had the same thought. Q: When is the extension of Bellaire Blvd going to be complete thru Lakemont providing access to Grand Mission Blvd and SH99? A: Our developer, Friendswood Development, is not responsible for this connection so I posed the question to Precinct 3 County Commissioner Andy Meyers and here was his response: “We are working with various property owners and developers to find funding for the extension of Bellaire Blvd. We hope to make the extension sometime in the next 3 years, as we have a large retail facility that should be open next fall that will generate a significant amount of funding.” So, the short answer is be patient - the connection will happen but not overnight.
