Meyer Park Losing Trees Meyer Park Losing an estimated 1700 trees. This past summer’s drought and heat was devastating to oak trees and loblolly pine trees. The National Weather Service says 2011 was Texas’ driest year on record as well as its second hottest. The current drought started in fall 2010. Forecasters say it is expected to drag on at least through June. Tree removal crews have begun to cut down an estimated 1,755 dead trees in the 180-acre Meyer Park, Spring, Texas. Kleinwood Date Set for Youth Outdoor Track & Field Information Briefing Come Run, Jump &Throw with us!

Registrations are underway for the Texas Stallions Track Club Spring/Summer Season. The Stallions is a youth track and field program that develops youth runners, jumpers, and throwers and emphasizes the importance of fitness, a healthy lifestyle, and living a life of “Dedication, Determination and Discipline”! The Stallions offers youth athlete ages 6 – 18 the opportunity to learn about and train in different events in track and field and provides the opportunity to compete on a local, regional and national level. To learn more, you are invited to attend our information meeting on February 2, 2012 at 6:30pm at Denny’s Restaurant located at 6504 FM 2920, Spring, Texas 77379. The event will provide an overview of the sport, team philosophies, and the season. At the reception, you will have the opportunity to meet our coaches and board members and have your questions answered. About the Texas Stallions

The Texas Stallions Track Club is a 501(c)(3) Texas non-profit Corporation that is sanctioned by the Amateur Athletic Un i o n ( A AU ) Gu l f Association and the USA Track and Field

(USATF) Gulf Association youth track programs for boys and girls from ages 6 to 18 years old. Our track club is dedicated to the development of youth track and field athletes in the North Houston area.

Youth Track Club Begins 25th Season

The Northwest Flyers Youth Track Club will begin the 2012 season with its first practice during the week of February 13th. The team consists of boys and girls, ages 6 -18, provides a full program of track and field events, and is affiliated with USA Track & Field (USATF). The club was founded 25 years ago by Olympic gold medalist Fred Newhouse to foster the development of youth track & field in the Northwest Houston area.
