MESSAGE FROM THE BOARD During the brush clean-up and cedar removal from the karst lots and greenbelts, some residents expressed a concern regarding the affect the reduced density had on the privacy of their lot. Removal of the undergrowth needed to occur to decrease the fire risk; however, the Landscape Committee determined that allowing planting of native hardwood trees directly behind residents’ property lines would potentially fill some of the visual gaps while remaining consistent with the management strategy for the greenbelts. To ensure this was done appropriately, the Landscape Committee has made arrangements with D&B Tree Company to obtain favorable bulk pricing on suitable trees. Hidden Glen will collect orders from all interested residents then coordinate the planting of the trees. Here is the pricing structure for native hardwoods delivered, installed, and staked with a one-year warranty: • 15 Gallon = $225 + Tax • 30 Gallon = $325 + Tax • 45 Gallon = $425 + Tax • 65 Gallon = $525 + Tax • 100 Gallon = $925 + Tax D&B has installed other trees for Hidden Glen and knows the terrain. The installation pricing includes breaking up limestone where required. If you live along one of the greenbelts and are interested in having trees planted behind your property, please contact Mark Gesch at mark_gesch@myway.com or 845-9062. Mark will then meet with you to understand the sizes and varieties of trees you wish to purchase and help determine appropriate locations for their installation. Even if you are not along the greenbelt, D&B will also honor this pricing for trees planted in resident lots as long as it is done in conjunction with this program. Please contact Mark no later than April 1 in order to participate.
