CY-FAIR WOMEN’S CLUB

Women Serving the Community

Sherry Eichberger with “One Green Street” provided valuable information to our membership during our March meeting. We are grateful that she shared her knowledge with us. Our April meeting promises to be just as exciting. Dr. Hotze an engaging speaker, who hosts a radio talk show on Houston’s KSEV at 700 AM, where he leads insightful discussions on health and wellness, will be our presenter. He is also the author of Hormones, Health and Happiness, and founder and CEO of the Hotze Health and Wellness Center, Hotze Pharmacy and Physician’s Preference, a vitamin and supplement company, here in Houston. Dr. Hotze interacts with his audiences and makes his presentation fun for everyone. He will be speaking about how we can achieve health and wellness naturally, without the use of prescription drugs. In addition, we plan on bringing giveaways to raffle off for the attendees, so please, don’t hesitate to join us. Last but not least, in May we are looking forward to our Amazing Race and Dessert contest! Nothing like getting your adrenalin going and calming it down with dessert. Hope to see you there! CWC is a service organization that gives back to the community. This means that all funds raised will go right back to the community in the form of scholarships for graduating high school seniors, at Lone Star College, Cy-Fair and grants to other non-profits in our community, as well. Membership into the Cy-Fair Women’s Club is open to all ladies in Northwest Houston/Cypress neighborhoods. Currently we meet the first Thursday of most months at West Houston Church of Christ. Our meetings begin with social time and refreshments at 7:00p.m. The church is located at the corner of Queenston and West Road. Our Monthly meetings are not only educational and enjoyable, but they develop lasting fellowships. We look forward to meeting you there! If you have any questions about our club or need directions to the church, please contact Susan McLeroy, Membership Chair at sudomac@comcast.net

COPPERFIELD COALITION A NON-PROFIT INCORPORATED ORGANIZATION

In this month’s issue you will find two very important topics that you should be made aware of. The second is low incoming housing. Please read both. SPEEDING & RUNNING OF STOP SIGNS

Do we really want to jeopardize the lives of our children and pedestrians just to gain a few more seconds by speeding or not stopping at stop signs? We must all do our part to protect the community and the welfare of all. Speeding and the running of stop signs must come to an end. The Copperfield Coalition attended the Copperfield Community Association Crime Watch Town Hall Meeting held on February 16. One of the hottest topics was the running of stop signs and the speeding, along with a total disregard for stopped school buses loading/unloading children. The Coalition approached Sheriff Adrian Garcia and Sean Walsh, Chairman of the Crime Watch Committee. The Copperfield Coalition, Copperfield Community Association Crime Watch Committee, and the Harris County Sheriff Department have joined forces to tackle the problem of speeding and the running of stop signs in and around the Copperfield area.
