UPDATE
July Board Update THE FENCE PROGRAM Construction got started at the corner of Pocono and O'Connor on June 6 right on schedule with the entire phase one completed by the end of June (optimistically). The first sections are already up as this is being written and they are beautiful. The neighborhood is going to benefit greatly in appearance and value as a result of this program and the Board is looking forward to commencing with phase two as soon as we figure out what that is going to be. This will be a major topic of discussion at the June 26 meeting. The folks getting the phase one fence have been most pleasant and co-operative to date and we hope that attitude will continue to prevail during the next phase. This has been an inordinate amount of work for the Board to date and we are hoping it will now subside somewhat so that we can get back to our normal duties. We will also try to keep everyone apprised of our progress on phase two as that program develops. VIOLATION CORRECTION PROGRAM
There has been virtually no progress in this area during the past month but it will be on the agenda again for the June 26 meeting. Numerous written complaints have been received during the past month and a few contacts were made but this continues to be an ongoing problem. One person very accurately complained that tree branches on many streets were hanging so low that pedestrian thoroughfare was quite restricted. This is a violation of County ordinances and is ticketable by Sheriff’s Deputies if they see fit. The Board feels that it is not at all unreasonable to request that tree owners keep overhanging branch height high enough so as to not interfere with pedestrian traffic, so to those of you to whom the complaint is applicable, please do the right thing and trim them back to a reasonable height before the Deputies make it really expensive. INTERESTING STUFF The monument sign on the southwest corner of Great Oaks and Pepper Rock has been removed. This sign was never on Meadows property (although it was supposed to be at one time) so it has been a misnomer since day one. It was also in considerable disrepair so it probably isn›t going to be missed much. The Board is looking at alternative means of area identification but it is only in the idea stage at this time. We also acquired a new member during the past month, Mr. Joe Chateau joined us to fill the remaining vacancy on the Board. Joe brings a considerable amount of teaching experience to the Board, has a wonderful ability to get along with people (a characteristic of most teachers) and his calm demeanor is a welcome balm on the occasionally heated discussion. We welcome him with delight.
That's about it for this month, see y'all again next month. Copyright © 2012 Peel, Inc.
