Come Meet Your Neighbors and Hear about Historic Pemberton! Elections for the PHNA Board!

Yes, It’s that time again! Along with other local and national elections, you are being asked to vote by 16 November 2012 for 4 places on the PHNA Board. Please see inside for the ballot to use to vote and additional voting information. To vote, you must have been a duespaying member of the neighborhood association as of 5:00pm, 1 November 2012. Candidates and candidate statements are included inside the newsletter.

Please join us for our casual monthly lunch to meet your neighbors, learn about neighborhood activities, and learn about historic Pemberton. Suzanne Deaderick and Elizabeth Cash will be at the November lunch to discuss their new book about historic Pemberton. They will also have copies available to sign, just in time for Christmas presents! WHERE AND WHEN: The November lunch will be Tuesday the 27th TIME: 11:45. PLACE: Russell’s on Kerby Lane COST: Each attendee pays for their own lunch by separate check. Thanks to Carla Hatler and Nikki Faulkner and our Sponsors, the annual Pemberton Heights Fall picnic was a huge success this year with the largest turnout in recorded history! Almost 325 neighbors gathered on an unusually chilly evening on Sunday, October 7th, at Jean Mueller’s side lawn to enjoy a delightful meal from P. Terry’s, and catch up with friends, old and new. The kids bounced in two bouncy houses and got their faces painted by Devo the Clown. Everyone enjoyed made-to-order hamburgers and french fries from the P. Terry’s food truck, along with delicious homemade desserts donated by neighbors and P. Terry’s. and beer donated by Brown Distributing, while the kids and teetotalers were treated to water and Sweet Leaf Tea also donated by Brown Distributing. Mosquitoes were kept away with mosquito control donated by ABC Home & Commercial. In addition, both ABC Home & Commercial and Comerica Bank provided generous financial support. In addition to socializing with one another, Pemberton residents were given the opportunity to pay annual association membership dues, make donations to the neighborhood security efforts, and sign up for the perennial favorite holiday carriage rides in December.
