Accomplishments
In the Pipeline
• Come see the hopscotch pavers that were installed in the playgrounds at Bottle Brush and Hometown Parkway. Hop on over and enjoy…you’re never too old to play! • Take a look at the boulders that were installed in the center courtyard. • A second trashcan was added to the main basketball court. • The playscape at Hometown Parkway/Camelia Parkway was repaired. • A street and stop sign was installed at the Hawthorn entrance. • Construction to control erosion was completed at the northeast corner of our subdivision, which brought us into compliance with the City of Kyle’s requirement. • A reserve study was completed to determine an adequate funding amount for future repair and replacement of community assets.
• Transition the landscape along walkways to more xeriscaping to conserve our precious resource of water and to reduce the expense as the water costs continue to rise. Please be patient as this is endeavor costs money and will need to be phased in over years. • Lights, lights, lights!!! We’re looking at lighting some of the walking paths to make it nicer and safer for you. We will begin this effort with the following walkways: - from Camelia Parkway/Hometown Parkway to the center courtyard, and - from the Bottle Brush playscape to the other end of Bottle Brush. • Re-stain a portion of the HOA fence.

Trash Cans During our March 12th board meeting, a discussion was held regarding trash can violations and interpretation of language in our CC&Rs. Consequently, we temporarily returned to the interim practice of allowing trashcans to be stored in front of the homeowner's fence, but behind the air conditioning units, while we further reviewed the issue. After speaking to the HOA attorney, "properly screened from view" is interpreted to mean out of sight using materials and designs approved by the Architectural Committee. More precisely, “properly” refers to the materials and methods used for screening, and “screened from view” indicates that the trashcans cannot be seen. This can include inside garages, in the backyard behind the fence, or in front of your fence but behind some screening, such as lattice fencing, small fences, shrubbery, etc., as long as your trash can is totally screened from view. Make sure to request approval of any additions to your front yard from the Architectural Control Committee (ACC) before installing. By July 1, 2013, all trashcans must be stored out of sight. At that point, violations will again be distributed for trashcans that are visible. In good faith, any violations placed on hold during this temporary interim period will be waived.
