TNW POA BOARD MEETING

Tuesday, June 11, 2013, 4:30 pm, at Clubhouse All residents encouraged to attend www.terranovawest.com ∣ www.chaparralmanagement.com Resident input: 6:30pm / Constable: 281-376-3472 REPORT OF ANNUAL MEETING HELD MONDAY, MAY 14:

Submitted by Sharon Natenberg Security: One incident of criminal mischief occurred on Terrawren. There was also a male and female disturbance on Glenmere. Fifty-one traffic tickets were written. Constables on patrol drove 1,233 miles. Action Items: The Board voted to install new wrought iron fencing at the entrance of the Oaks of Terranova West. Our long-time landscaper, D.W. Miller, will be repairing a drain off the swimming pool pump room roof, fertilizing all irrigated turf areas, and trimming the trees in Terravista. Check on our website for the new code to the park fence. In the future, the water fountain in the park will be removed. We are completing the removal of dead trees from the park. A big “thank you” to President Bill Carpenter for “taking one for the team”! He was stung by the bees that were living in one of our dead trees! Bill is fine; the bee is a goner! The edging around the playground will be repaired. We are planning to install a sprinkler system on the west side of TC Jester between Springton and Glenmere and to eventually plant the ligustrum hedge to match the east side. Committee Reports: Maria Carra continues to handle the rental and maintenance of our clubhouse. Dan Winters reports that seven ARC requests were filed for various home improvements. Dianne Moynihan will be handing our wristbands for pool usage and she will be meeting with Sweetwater Pools who manage our pool. Dianne reports that our swim team, the Tidalwaves, have 130 swimmers! luck, Tidalwaves! The home meets will be May 26 and June 9 and the Divisional meet with all the teams will be here on June 23. Call Sweetwater if you wish to schedule a pool party: 281-988-8480. Bill Heuer, Beautification Committee, is encouraged that we are fertilizing, trimming trees, and investigating the sprinklers for TC Jester. The Board has learned that application has been made to build Federally-funded, subsidized housing on Kuykendahl between Louetta and Spring Cypress. If you wish to express your opinion or get further information, you can access the home page of Texas Department of Housing & Community Affairs at www.tdhca.state.tx.us and click on “Join Our Email List.” Interested TNW Neighbor Kim Crites can also give you information at kimcrites51@gmail.com . You may also contact Texas State Rep. Debbie Riddle at 512-463-0572, Texas State Senator Dan Patrick at 512-463-0107, and Texas State Rep Patricia Harless at patricia.harless@house.state.tx.us . Nineteen local HOA’s including TNW have signed a letter of protest on the possibility of building this housing because of the impact on our schools, our police and emergency services, our water, and traffic congestion. In addition, the Board has investigated the county’s plan to install stoplights on TC Jester. Contact any Board member for more information.

Whispering Pines Do Not Flush Disposable Wipes! Your Terranova West Municipal Utility District is responsible for, among other things, the operation and maintenance of the sanitary sewer system. Repair costs, like all production costs, are paid for by you, the residents of the Terranova West Municipal Utility District. Thousands of $$$$ have been spent to repair damaged equipment caused by “disposable” wipes and cleaning towels being flushed down toilets. Although the manufacturers of these items say they are eco-friendly, the truth is, they do deteriorate, but very slowly in landfills. They cannot pass easily through the District’s pumps and, when the pumps clog, it costs you and your neighbors money to remove and clean them. Please refrain from flushing these items down the toilet and help keep the sanitary sewer system running smoothly and at the lowest possible operating cost. Your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated! Thank you. –Your Terranova West Municipal Utility District Board of Directors
