Board Report TWO ITEMS ARE TOP OF MIND THIS MONTH
(1) LIMITED PURPOSE ANNEXATION – As you may know already, the HOA Board temporarily postponed the 7/16 Petition Drive meeting at the pool with the City of Cedar Park after hearing about legal issues that must be resolved by city attorneys first. We also suspended the house-to-house petition drive. More info is expected soon, and we’ll share it ASAP on the Bella Vista website (www.bellavista-hoa.com/bellavista/home.asp) and the less formal “Bella Vista, Cedar Park” Facebook group (www.facebook.com/ groups/60243129318/), which now has about 190 members and is a fun and interactive way to socialize with neighbors. It’s also the quickest way to get info out, so we recommend joining. “Cedar Park Neighborhood Action Network” (www.facebook. com/groups/cpaction/) is another Facebook group you may want to join. With over 300 members from Bella Vista and Twin Creeks residents, it has additional information for those interested in annexation and the proposed gas station and self-storage facility between our communities. (2) STAGE-3 WATER RESTRICTIONS – Cedar Park is expected to enact its strongest water restrictions ever August 1 in anticipation of worsening drought conditions this summer, as outlined in the city’s Drought Contingency and Water Emergency Plan. The change would limit residents to outdoor watering once a week, on Tuesdays, including watering by drip irrigation or soaker hose. Using a handheld hose equipped with a positive pistol grip nozzle or other device that automatically shuts off water flow when the hose is not being used, or handheld buckets is permitted on any day and at any time. Operation of decorative water features is prohibited except when aeration is necessary to preserve habitat for aquatic life. The filling, refilling, or adding of potable water to swimming or wading pools is prohibited, although we expect a variance for the community pool. Copyright © 2013 Peel, Inc.
