Spring Is On The Way! We have had an unusually cold consistent winter this year, but spring is on the way. With that in mind, it will soon be time to get those spring chores done around the house. One area that has been neglected in Laurel Creek is the hedges growing BETWEEN houses or on the sides of houses. Our Governing Documents, Article IX, Restriction of Use, Architectural Control, Section 13, Walls, Fences and Hedges, Paragraph 3 states: “No wall, fence, or hedge in excess of six (6) feet in height shall be erected or maintained on a side lot line from a point located three (3) feet back from the front exterior wall of the main residential structure, backward to the rear property line on a Lot. No rear fence, wall or hedge shall be more than (6) feet high.” Since our neighborhood is getting older, trees and foliage is getting more mature and may need attention now that it hasn’t needed in times past. The lack of trimming of hedges between houses is also a safety concern. Where growth is thick, it is a hiding place for a potential predator. Let’s all keep our homes safe.
