NOVEMBER 2015

VOLUME 3, NUMBER 11

President's Message I would like to wish you and your families all the very best this Thanksgiving. I know I am thankful this season for my health, family and friends I have come to know in Cat Mountain. Just a reminder, get out and vote on November 3rd, 2015. The clubhouse will be a polling location from 7:00am to 7:00pm. Please check the upcoming social events calendar and save the date for our annual Holiday party. I hope to see you all there! At the October meeting of the Board, we reviewed our finances and determined there is little reason to increase dues for 2016. So we will keep them at $47/month. After reviewing our options, the board decided to continue with the coupon book system. If you don’t like them, please let Jesse know you would like to be taken off the list. We don’t want to waste time and money mailing coupon books to people who don’t want them or use them. Please help us by arranging to pay your dues electronically. You can pay monthly, quarterly or annually. If you need information, please email Jesse. If you are interested in receiving the newsletter electronically, please check out www.peelinc.com and look for Cat Mountain. If you would like to highlight notable achievements of yourself, your spouse or children, please draft a document and share with Charlene. If you would like to promote your business

to the residents of Cat Mountain Villas, please contact Kelly Peel (Kelly@peelinc.com) at Peel Inc. Now that the weather is cooler, a new tennis group has started up, please contact Andrew Rochstein at andrewrock@ yahoo.com for more information. I continue to encourage everyone in the neighborhood to update the association with your current email and phone number so that we can communicate in the most efficient manner possible. Please let us know if your contact info changes. Email Jesse at cmhoa@sbcglobal.net and share this information. Our welcoming committee members, Faye Van Haren and Lisa Castillo have done a great job this summer getting out and greeting all the new residents. I would like to say thank you for lending your wonderful personalities as representatives of the neighborhood. If you are new to the Villas, I’m sure you’ll meet them if you haven’t already. If you need assistance or have any questions about Cat Mountain please do not hesitate to contact Jesse via phone or email. Best Regards, Bryan Harter Cat Mountain HOA | President

JESSE CHARGUALAF HOA MANAGER OFFICE HOURS: MONDAY - FRIDAY / 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM EMAIL: CMHOA@SBCGLOBAL.NET OFFICE: 512.451.3884

November Manager’s Report 2016 Maintenance Assessment (Homeowners Dues): I will be ordering the 2016 Coupon Books soon. The coupon book is for homeowners that are not using online payment method to pay their homeowner dues. The Board is looking at reducing the cost of printing and mailing coupon books by not ordering coupons books for homeowners that do not use, need or wants it. Please let the Manager know by calling the office at 512-451-3884 or email at cmhoa@sbcglobal.net very soon if you do not want the coupon book. Note: Homeowners that are now paying online will continue unless they change their payment method. Coyotes: Coyotes are opportunistic feeders (scavengers), birdseed, scraps, dropped fruit, compost, garbage, rodents and unsupervised small pets are some common food attractants in a residential area. Habituation of coyotes to human activity is directly linked to the availability of food sources, including the intentional and accidental feeding of wildlife. If you have fruit trees, collect the dropped fruit. Secure compost and don’t add meat scraps to compost. Feed your pet indoors and store their food indoors. Wildlife professionals encourage us to NOT feed wildlife. Coyotes are attracted to any yard providing sources of food and prey. Dogs: There has been a recent increase in the amount of feces noted around the sidewalks and trails. Please pick up after your dog while walking. There have been numerous complaints about dogs barking late at night after 1:00AM and around 4:00AM to 6:00AM. If you put your dog outside please monitor them (Continued on Page 4) Cat Mountain View - November 2015

Book Overview: On a day that started like any other… Mia had everything: a loving family, a gorgeous, adoring boyfriend, and a bright future full of music and full of choices. Then, in an instant, almost all of that is taken from her. Caught between life and death, between a happy past and an unknowable future, Mia spends one critical day contemplating the one decision she has left—the most important decision she’ll ever make. Simultaneously tragic and hopeful, this is a romantic, riveting and ultimately uplifting story about memory, music, living, dying, loving. For more info on the author go to www.gayleforman.com
