Dogs on Leashes

As Spring draws near and warmer weather approaches, everyone is anxious to get outside, soak up the sunshine, and enjoy their community parks, trails and lake. Understandably, we like for our furry, four-legged family members to join us. However, please remember that household pets should be restrained from entering a neighbor’s property and should be controlled on a leash when entering any street, sidewalk or common area. Not only is this a courtesy to your neighbors and make for a safer community, but it is a General Restriction of the Paloma Lake Master Covenant. Article 2.06 states, “No animal will be allowed to make an unreasonable amount of noise, or to become a nuisance, and no domestic pets will be allowed within the Development Area other than on the Lot of its Owner unless confined to a leash.” Please refer to the Community documents online to view the rest of the regulations pertaining to pets. (http://www. southwestmanagement.net/palomalake under the Documents tab.) There have been numerous reports of dogs being off-leash on community trails, including an incident on January 1 in which a Paloma Lake resident and his dog were both injured during an encounter with another dog. The aggressor dog was reportedly also on a walk with its owner, but was off leash. Copyright © 2016 Peel, Inc.

If you witness an off-leash pet and have a property address for the owner, please submit to aclay@southwestmanagement.net or lauren@southwestmanagement.net and a violation notice will be sent. You may also contact the Williamson County Animal Control at 512-864-8282.
