Pets, with the exception of service animals, are not allowed at any community events. Ever wonder why? • If one dog is allowed, then all dogs are allowed. Multiple dogs can equal multiple dog squabbles. • Multiple dogs can also equal multiple dog messes. No one wants to step in “dog doo” and have their fun at an event be ruined. Unfortunately, not everyone is diligent in cleaning up after their pet. • Many children in the community are scared or allergic to dogs. We want all of our residents to be able to participate in our community events without having to fear a dog. • Most of our events also involve food. Residents would like to enjoy eating without the watchful eyes of our furry friends. Even worse, some dogs are food aggressive and can wreck havoc during a meal. Eagle Springs, as a community, loves their dogs and other animals! However, please remember to leave your pet at home during a community event.

We realize you have a choice so we appreciate the opportunity to earn your business. Building clients for life while giving back to the community in order to make a difference!

From Veteran’s Day to Thanksgiving! November is a month to be thankful for many things. We honor our Vets on November 11th for their service in protecting and defending our country. If you see a Veteran, a simple thank you can make them smile! Please remember our Veterans past, present, those that are with us and those that are not on this special day. As a mother of an Iraq war Veteran, thank you to all who served! Our national holiday of Thanksgiving begins with the word thanks, as we are thankful for our family, friends and as originally conceived for the blessing of the harvest. Use this day to get closer to family, reach out to those that may have nowhere to go on this day and invite them to Thanksgiving dinner. Please find it in your heart for kindness to all. Happy Thanksgiving from my family to yours! For those that are looking to move before Christmas, or be in a home before year end or the spring semester of school begins, please give a call. Homes can sell up to the middle of December before the market really slows down through the Christmas Season. This is also a good time to meet and put a plan of action in place for listing your home after the first of the year. We can get everything prepared to go in January putting you on the market as the Buyer’s return after the holiday season Whichever avenue you prefer, please entrust me with selling your home, as so many Eagle Springs homeowners have over the years. I am at your service whether you are selling a home, buying a home, or both! Real estate markets fluctuate sometimes by the month. If you want to know the range your home will sell for at this point in time, call me for a free Comparative Market Analysis that can give you an idea of your home value. As always, if you see me driving through Eagle Springs, putting a sign in the yard for sale, removing a sign from a home that has been sold, or just chatting with a neighbor, please stop and say hello. I love to meet all Eagle Springs residents, old and new! Lastly, I want to say a big THANK YOU to Eagle Springs for the continued loyalty in my real estate business. I wish everyone a safe and enjoyable holiday season!

EAGLE SPRINGS Young Triathletes in Eagle Springs (Fitness, Community, and Accomplishment) Swimsuit On: Check. Goggles: Check. Towel: Check. Bike: Check. Helmet: Check. Shoes: Check. Enthusiasm: Check. It was the checklist that 242 children went through at 6:30 am on September 17, 2016 as they prepared to leave home to race in the 6th Annual Eagle Springs Kids Triathlon. That early hour was an unusual time for the 5 to 15 year old kids to be so excited to be awake and ready for exercise – and yet smiles were all around. When they arrived at the Athletic Club pool, they found their transition are, placed all their items in just the right spot for them, and then received their timing chip. From their transition area, they could see all the other bikes – some in the pool parking lot and some in the Primrose School parking lot. That’s a lot of bikes – some bike and some small, some multispeed and some without gears, some blue and some pink – but all with a race number, and a nervous and yet eager child standing nearby. It’s time! It’s 8 am and it’s time to get moving. They left behind that bike and filed one by one into the pool area, passing by mom and dad for one more high-five, talking to our new friends right before and after us in the line. First, the National Anthem then lots of cheers and let’s go. That nervous first jump in the water, or that practiced start from years of swim team - each kid entered the water and began to swim. The water is constantly splashing, but you can hardly hear it over the cheers of encouragement from parents, family, and friends. They hear the volunteers tell them to do the next lap – or to get out of the pool because they’re done. The swim is over quickly with a bit of relief from many of the children that they can go to the bikes. Racing out of the pool area, they find their transition spot once more. Dry quickly, struggle to put socks on somewhat still wet feet, lace up those shoes and grab the helmet. And they’re off! Riding to the high school seems long but there are people all along the way – cheering and encouraging. They ride past and smile at these strangers. Along the way, some notice the sign on the way “You Can Do It!” Of course, they pedal harder. Some are in the race with the person right next to them, some trying to catch the kid in front. All of them riding fast to finish this part of the race. Back! They are done with 2 out of 3 portions of the race. Shed the helmet, wipe the sweat from their face, and leave aside the bike. They are ready for the run. And they can see their parents again, “Go, Go, Go”…..The change from a bike to a run gives them a boost of energy and off they go. The run is hot and legs feel a bit wobbly after having biked and swam. But they near that finish line and hear all the screaming and rejoicing. The last 50 yards – full sprint as hard as they can. And then, they hear their name…..They crossed the finish line and they are a triathlete! A volunteer places their finisher’s medal around their neck. That medal and ribbon feel amazing as they rejoice with the others. Each of these finishers gets a neon blue water bottle – their new staple in the lunch box or gym bag. Some listen to the music Copyright © 2016 Peel, Inc.

while others slide down the large inflatable water slide and some cool off with a shaved ice drink from Kona Ice. Everyone enjoys the cake, popcorn and fruit while awaiting the results wondering “Did I win?” These 242 children now join the four years of Eagle Springs Kids Tri participants who can proudly call themselves triathletes. A total of 1112 local children have completed a triathlon during that six year period. The self-esteem, determination, and physical fitness impacts of this accomplishment will forever be instilled in those kids. And as parents and volunteers cheered, the sense of community and pride to live in this area was plentiful. The constables, the lifeguards, and all our volunteers were instrumental in helping us be successful; however our Sweetwater guards this year were absolutely amazing at ensuring that when they were needed to assist a child, they did so while motivating and building up confidence rather than letting the kids feel disappointment about needing the help. It was amazing to watch the guards slowly swim behind the child and talk to them and encourage them to finish the challenge in front of them. In the words of some of the parents and volunteers, about the event: (Continued on Page 6)

EAGLE SPRINGS (Continued from Page 5) • Such an uplifting experience! We are thankful to raise our family in such a great place. • Awesome that we were able to give all these kiddos the experience and show them it’s not as hard as they imagine. • We have some great athletes, but more importantly I witnessed great sportsmanship today. • The kids triathlon has been a great experience for our children and our family. We love that our children have such a fun activity that encourages them to be active. • So much fun. Our kids first • I am in awe of these young kids and the effort it takes. If you see any of these triathletes throughout our neighborhood or Atascocita, congratulate them with us for an amazing accomplishment – for athleticism and determination. For each one of them can proudly say “I am a TRIATHLETE.” The event was sponsored by Platinum Sponsor: Nations Lending, the Jordan Gerard Mortgage Team; Gold Sponsors: Team Salas Realty, Magically Ever After, Primrose School of Eagle Springs, The Karate School, Chicks Picks Boutique, Best Trash, Brown & Gay Engineers, and Municipal Operations & Consulting,. Silver Sponsors: Scott’s Carpet Care, TMAC Sound, Bellex, Nerthlete, Clint Reynolds Realtor, Kumon Learning Center, ABHR, and Severn Trent Services. Bronze Sponsors: Swirls, Rebekah Snipp Realty, Nutrition Central, and Pathways Youth & Family Services. NNO Butterfly Event

Eagle Springs’ 2nd Annual Butterfly Event was a huge success! On October 1st, about 80 children and their families explored the butterfly park in Eagle Springs. The landscape committee had on hand, caterpillars, chrysalis and butterflies for the children to observe. The group listened to a presentation about the journey of the Monarch butterfly from Canada to Mexico. Children were invited to help the landscape committee release 4 dozen butterflies and caterpillars in the garden. A special thank you goes out to the landscape committee members and their families, the cub scouts, Brown Box Bakery for the cupcakes and ESE teachers for their help in making this event a success. Butterfly Enclosure This year the landscape committee teamed up with the boy scouts to build a butterfly enclosure for the butterfly park. Boy Scout Damian Duran decided to take on the project in order to gain his Eagle Scout status. Damian worked with the committee to learn about the Monarch butterfly and tips for building a butterfly garden. Damian received donations from local business to build the located in the Sterling Creek section of Eagle Springs. Eagle Springs enclosure. He then enlisted the help of fellow boy scouts to build and and the landscape committee thank Damian and his fellow scouts for install the enclosure in the park. The butterfly park and enclosure are building the enclosure for our community. Brilliant Energy Texas OUC #10140

Getting your Home Ready for the Fall

Save the Dates!

Now is the perfect time to prep your home to look its best before winter rolls in. Some helpful tips include: • Keeping trees that line along the sidewalks trimmed to allow safe passage of pedestrians on the sidewalk. A good rule of thumb is to clear space 12 feet above street surface and 8 feet above sidewalk • Keeping your homes siding and chimneys clean of any mildew and/or rust. • Giving your driveway and sidewalks a power wash. However, if you have any oil stains, you will want to treat them prior to power washing. Please contact Hanah at hanah.lowry@crestmanagement.com for helpful tips on removing oil stains.

Our last 2 events of the year are coming! Friday, December 2nd marks our last Food Truck Friday, in conjunction with Movie in the Park, sponsored by Magically Ever After Travel. Saturday, December 10th is our annual WinterFest, featuring a craft fair and home business showcase. Details for both of these events will be coming to InsideEagleSprings.com soon, so watch for them!

Hurricane Preparedness for Your Pets

Don't forget to include your pets in your hurricane preparedness and evacuation plan. Storms can be scary for your animals, especially if they are moved out of their usual familiar environment. Be sure to have their crate or carrying case ready along with extra bedding and toys. Bring along at least four days worth of food with dishes and one week of medications. Investigate pet friendly hotels or motels ahead of time to be sure they allow pets and do not have a number limit. In addition, if you are not planning to leave your home and have the space, you might consider fostering one or two animals that may have nowhere to go during the storm period. After all, they ARE a part of the family.
