If you have ever thought about volunteering, now is the perfect time. Join us on Thursday, Nov 9th at 7pm or Saturday, Nov 11th at 2pm at fire station #7 to find out how you can join. Station 7 in Fairfield has 12 openings and is accepting applications for new members. If you are interested in volunteering in the community or starting a career in the Fire or Emergency Medical Services then joining the Cy-Fair Volunteer Fire Department, Station #7, is a great way to serve. We are “Neighbors Helping Neighbors”. Since the station opened in 1995 our members, who are all volunteers and residents in the Fairfield area, have been dedicated to providing fire and medical services to the community in which we live. We need your help to continue our tradition of service to Fairfield and the surrounding communities. On Thursday, Nov 9th and Saturday, Nov 11th we will host an informal “Open House” at station #7. Station members will be on hand to provide information on joining the department and answer any questions you may have about membership. Stop by to learn about the department, see the new station under construction and the “Tools of the Trade.” Parking will available across the street between Kroger and auto repair shop. If interested, please join us for an opportunity to become one of “Fairfield’s Bravest”. No experience is necessary. The department provides all equipment and training free of charge. To learn more now visit us on Facebook, @cyfairvfdstation7 and click the sign up button. You may also email us at unit700@cyfairvfd.org

Memorial Hermann Cypress Hospital Now Offering Advanced Wound Care Memorial Hermann Cypress Hospital now offers advanced wound care treatment for chronic wounds, ranging from diabetic ulcers to radiation-induced inflammation. Chronic wounds have a range of causes, including diabetes, vascular disease, and trauma. “Treating a chronic wound may not be a simple fix. You have to look at the cause of the impaired healing, as well as the wound itself, for a patient to have the optimal outcome,” says Stuart Harlin, M.D., a vascular surgeon affiliated with Memorial Hermann Wound Care at Memorial Hermann Cypress and UTHealth. “That’s why it’s important that you see specialists who treat your wound using a comprehensive approach.” Dr. Harlin says those with neuropathy or peripheral arterial disease are at a higher risk of developing chronic wounds and should speak to a physician if they notice a slow healing process. “If a chronic wound is left untreated, it can lead to bigger infections, like sepsis, or even limb amputation. Our advanced wound care program can help prevent more severe conditions from occurring,” says Dr. Harlin. Memorial Hermann Wound Care features a highly-skilled team of affiliated physicians, nurses and technicians with advanced training in wound care and hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) therapy. Among the many treatment interventions available, patients can also receive specialty wound dressings, debridement, and negative-pressure wound therapy Memorial Hermann Wound Care is located at 27700 Northwest Freeway, Suite 170, Cypress, TX 77433. It is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For referrals, scheduling, and more information, call (346)231-6991.
