ATASCOCITA FOREST Farmer’s & Artisan Market in Atascocita Forest Atascocita Forest has partnered with Your Neighborhood Farmer’s Market to bring a monthly market to residents of Trail of the Lakes MUD! The market will be held on the third Thursday of each month from 3-7 PM at the Atascocita Forest Park on Woodland Hills Dr. The market features locally-grown, fresh produce, dairy, and meats with a wide range of organic selections, as well as homemade goods including jams, jellies, baked goods, and crafts! Additionally, the market will feature activities for kids, including moonwalks and special guests. At the first market in March, Spring Hills Farms brought baby chicks and a baby goat for the kids to interact with. Special guests will vary based on schedule availability. The market also has a “Kidpreneurs” program! The market reserves three booth spaces for kids who have

entrepreneurial enterprises and wish to sell their goods at the market! Booths are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Parents must register kids through the organization’s website: www.yourneighborhoodfarmersmarket.com/kids-activities. Please note that kids selling food goods must have the appropriate health department licenses. MUD residents who wish to participate in the market are eligible to receive a slightly discounted booth rate. Please contact Your Neighborhood Farmers Market with any questions about becoming a vendor. Please note that neither the HOA board nor the MUD are involved in the vendor selection, planning, or coordination of the event. Everything is handled by Your Neighborhood Farmer’s Market. The HOA merely provides the use of the neighborhood park facility for the organization to host the event. More information and FAQs about the event are available on our website: www.AtascocitaForest.org > Community Meetings & Events > Farmer’s Market Info & FAQ. We hope to see you there!

ATASCOCITA FOREST FIRST ATASCOCITA FOREST FOOD TRUCK FESTIVAL The first Atascocita Forest Food Truck Festival was held on Friday, March 9 in the Whispering Pines parking lot / Atascocita Forest Park. We had to “roll with the punches,” as they say, as one of the food trucks and the kids’ video game truck cancelled on us at the last possible minute, but we had two great food trucks and set up the inflatable screen and projector with a Wii and the kids had a blast playing Mario Kart while parents munched on yummy wings and tasty tacos. Residents seemed to really enjoy the event, which was planned and organized by Kentrell Ekpenike in The Forest. We hope to make this a recurring event that residents can look forward to as a laid back and fun way to try some great food and hang out with their friends and neighbors! Check the Events section of the websites for updates on future Food Truck nights!

ATASCOCITA FOREST POOL RENOVATION UPDATE

MUD Waterline

The pool renovation project is progressing on schedule. At the time of writing this article, the replastering and retiling of the pool are complete, and the new spray decking around the pool is being installed. In addition to refreshing the appearance of the pool and surrounding areas, we are also installing a water slide and diving board for residents to enjoy! Due to the production and installation schedule of the water slide, the opening of the pool may be delayed by a week to allow workers to complete the project and test its operations. At the time of writing, we do not have a confirmed delivery / installation timeline. Please check next month’s newsletter issue or the AtascocitaForest. org website periodically for pool schedule updates. We are very excited about the changes at the pool and hope that residents enjoy this amenity for many years to come!

Work in the Neighborhood Update

All of the new waterline has been laid and tested. Crews are now working on performing the “final” fills of holes dug to lay the new line. They are working as fast as they can to get holes filled and new sod laid; however, due to the effects and aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, grass sod is very hard to find in quantity right now and is on backorder in many cases. Any questions or concerns about waterline work or repairing damaged lawns should be directed to SiEnvironmental: 832-490-1600, or www.SiEnv.com
