THE TIMES The purpose of The Bridgeland Community Fun Run/Walk for Heroes fundraiser is to 1.) Raise Funds to Build a $1.5 million dollar Veterans Memorial in the Bridgeland Community in Cypress, Texas, 2.) Support Immediate needs for Veterans in the Community and 3.) Continue our Bridgeland Veterans Memorial Day, Bridgeland Veterans Day Festivals, and Christmas Toys for Veterans' Children Programs. The Bridgeland Community Fun Run/Walk for Heroes will be held October 20, 2018, @ 8 am at Bridgeland’s Festival Park in Cypress, TX. The event will include a 5k walk/run and a 9 am children's superhero costume 1k run/walk, along with booth vendors, entertainment, and activities for the children. The children's walk is open to strollers and wagons. The event is open to anyone. Please register for the event at bridgelandrunforheroes2018.eventbrite.com. or make a monetary contribution.

THE TIMES Bridgeland Camera Club's Annual Photo Exhibit Tuesday, September 25, 7:00-9:00 p.m.

Join us on September 25th, Tuesday night at 7:00 PM at the Activity Center for our annual photo exhibit.

Bridgeland Camera Club members will be showcasing their "portfolio," a series of photographs depicting their style and subject they shoot. Some of our club members are amazing portrait and event photographers. If you have a need for a photographer for your family, student, or event here's a chance to see their work and what they can do for you. Refreshments will be served during the two-hour exhibit.

THE TIMES Moonlit Kayaking on September 22, 2018 on Josey Lake & Dinner Party at the Boathouse On Saturday, September 22, 2018, the moonrises at 6:15 pm and will be a full moon.

The Bridgeland Kayak& Canoe Club dinner party begins at 7 pm at the Josey Lake Boathouse where everyone will bring a dish to share. Then at 8 pm we will all go kayaking or canoeing as a group. You must bring your own kayak or canoe as the HOA

equipment will not be available. We will kayaking/canoeing from 8-9:30 pm. This event is open to all club members and a limited number of Bridgeland residents. Visitors welcome if we have room.

THE TIMES Bridgeland Toastmaters Club Bridgeland Toastmasters last 6 months summary, •

We adapted the new educational path called 'Pathways' with more than 50% members already on their Level 1.

•

The club conducted its first Table Topics Contest.

•

Our club represented in the district Table topics contest

•

We have 3 new members.

•

All the officers went for officer training.

The Bridgeland Toastmasters Club began in April 2017 and has made great progress over the past year.

Member Haydee Penn earned her distinguished Toastmaster award after successfully completing several training levels.

The Club held its First Table Topics Contest and Ayse Indemaio went to the TM Area 65 Table Topics Contest where she placed second. Club member Maxie Anderson participated in the TM District 56 Humor Contest and won second place.

All club officers attend the TM Officer Training program.

The new online Toastmaster’s program, “Pathways” which provides

our new training programs was rolled out to the critical acclaim of all members, who found the new material very useful and exciting.

Toastmaster is a journey that you take with the support of excellent educational materials and guidance from a group of folks who really care and help. Learning to speak well in public, to lead a group, and to grow in self- confidence and overcome shyness and nervousness is a goal for all Toastmaster members. We are excited about the growth and positive changes we see in ourselves.

Come try the Toastmaster experience! Visitors Welcome. We meet the second and fourth Tuesday of every month at the Activity Center @ 7 pm.

THE TIMES Adult English Classes at English Gateway English Gateway is a program designed to teach conversational English. The vision and desire of English Gateway is to assist international families in learning and improving English skills to help them live and be successful here in the United States. We offer 6 different levels and have open registration throughout the CFISD school year. Childcare is available for free for pre-school children as long as they are registered beforehand.
