TEXARTS TO LAUNCH ARTS-BASED LEARNING POD
Lakeway, TX, August 12, 2020 - TexARTS Association will launch the TexARTS Performing Arts School (T-PAS), a small, arts-based group learning program for area students as they embark on the 2020-2021 school year. T-PAS meets 2 days per week, offering group socialization, supplemental arts instruction and a consistent environment for students. HILL COUNTRY GALLERIA RECOGNIZED AS A 2020 TOP COMEBACK RETAIL CENTER Lifestyle center’s investment in local arts and pandemic pivot highlighted by recent national accolades
BEE CAVE, Texas (Aug 10, 2020) -- Lifestyle and entertainment center Hill Country Galleria is thrilled to announce it has been named a “Top Comeback Retail Center” by industry publication Chain Store Age. The Galleria is one of 10 properties nationwide -- the only center in Texas -- recognized for leading the way in creating safe yet welcoming experiences to draw visitors back to their properties during the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, Hill Country Galleria received a Silver ICSC (International Council of Shopping Centers) Global MAXI Award for “Art Brought to Life,” highlighting efforts to center the Galleria as a hub of arts and culture in Bee Cave. As the state continues to grapple with the pandemic, Hill Country Galleria is strengthening its commitment to serving the community as an “it” spot for shopping, dining, and entertainment in the safest way possible. “Our team has worked incredibly hard over the last few months to support our tenants while getting creative with ways to continue providing a safe and welcoming experience for all,” said Mary Anne Castles, General Manager of Hill Country Galleria. “We are proud to be recognized among industry peers, and we look forward to sharing more unique offerings with our guests as we weather these unprecedented times.” 6

Situated in the small town of Bee Cave and offering generous outdoor spaces and shaded paseos, Hill Country Galleria is the ideal setting for maintaining social distance in everyday life. The Galleria has been named a “Top 10 Comeback Retail Center” for initiatives like recasting government health & safety regulations into refined living through colorful, upbeat graphics created by local artist Cathy Richardson and posted throughout the property; the development of the hashtag #BeeStrongTogether; the installation of more than 20 curbside pick-up locations on the main boulevard to welcome shoppers not yet ready for in-store experiences; and more. Previously known for hosting more than 150 free community events per year, the Galleria converted the spring edition of its signature Saturday Night Concert Series into virtual events held live on social media in collaboration with ACL Radio. In the coming fall, the Galleria will continue to serve as the heart of the community with thoughtful reworks of beloved events while keeping social distancing in mind. In addition, the Galleria is host to the Lone Star Farmers Market each Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and outdoor workout classes like Camp Gladiator and Fit4Mom. Bee Cave Messenger (Continued from Page 6) In July, Hill Country Galleria also received a Silver award from the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) 2020 MAXI Awards for the category of “Innovation” (Shopping Centers Over 500,001 Square Feet) for its “Art Brought to Life” initiative, an undertaking over the last two years. The award recognizes the Galleria’s efforts to infuse the center with arts and culture through various programs, including activating 19,000 square feet of retail space with local artists like Flip’N Art and ContraCommon; and forming a partnership with the Bee Cave Arts Foundation and facilitating the new permanent headquarters, The Hive, on-site. The Galleria, in partnership with the Bee Cave Arts Foundation, spearheaded a campaign to commission three Texas Hill Countryinspired murals across the property. This involved petitioning Bee Cave City Council for a new sign package for the property that included approved locations for outdoor murals, a call for artist submissions, and funding of the selected artists. The three murals, “Hi There” by Austin-based Helena Sue Martin, “Bijou the Bee” by Avery Orendorf / Avery O Design, and “Las Flores de Tejas y las Abejas Mexicanas" by J Muzacz, were unveiled in January 2020 with a dedicated Art Walk event to celebrate the new works and the steady growth of the local creative community. Not only were these endeavors driven by the property’s ongoing strategy for placemaking, management also took notice of the growing sentiment that many artists were struggling to continue their craft in greater Austin due to the ever-climbing costs of living and studio rent. Hill Country Galleria set out to become a resource for local creatives, from offering affordable studio and gallery spaces to supporting events initiatives, therefore transforming the property to a place where art lives.
The Galleria was also a finalist for the category of “Experiential” (‘Shopping Centers Over 500,001 Square Feet’) for its 2019 Hill Country Holiday Village. The ICSC Global Awards are the most recognized achievement for professional excellence in the retail real estate industry. The MAXI Awards showcase the creative and innovative practices that paint the picture for the future of the industry, highlighting the retail real estate industry’s most innovative events, programs, and technologies that add value to shopping centers and companies throughout the United States and Canada. GET YOUR PET FIXED! Lake Travis, Texas (August 5, 2020) – With dog and cat overpopulation posing a problem to the Lake Travis community, local nonprofit Lake Travis Spay & Neuter Advocacy Program (LT SNAP) wants to reduce animal shelter intake and euthanasia numbers in the Lake Travis area by providing transportation for LTISD pet owners to PetPALS, a low-cost, high-quality spay and neuter clinic in Marble Falls, TX. Founded by Rochelle and Phil Storin, LT SNAP began oncea-month transportation services in July. “With the high number of unaltered pets in our community, one of the most effective ways to reduce the pet population in the Lake Travis area is by spaying or neutering our pets,” said Phil Storin, Executive Director of LT SNAP. “For $95 or less plus a $30 transportation fee, pet owners can help increase a pet’s lifespan, lower the risk of certain cancers, and reduce unwanted pet behavior such as roaming or urine marking.” LT SNAP is partnering with Wags Hope & Healing, an animal rescue based in the Hudson Bend area of Austin, to provide transportation in a climate-controlled van. LT SNAP volunteers along with the executive director of Wags Hope & Healing meet pet owners that have registered with LT SNAP early in the morning at Lake Travis United Methodist Church. The animals are checked in, weighed and owners place them in crates. The crates are then placed in the Wags Hope & Healing van. The Wags Hope & Healing executive director and an LT SNAP volunteer drive together in the van to PetPALS and stay with the animals. Post surgery, the animals are driven back to the church. At afternoon pick-up, pet owner receive informational documents regarding surgery, vaccinations, and post-operative care instructions. Do what’s best for your pet. For more information and to register, visit www.LakeTravisSNAP.com. About Lake Travis Spay & Neuter Advocacy Program The mission of Lake Travis Spay & Neuter Advocacy Program, Inc. (LT SNAP) is to reduce animal shelter intake and euthanasia numbers in the Lake Travis area. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and rely on the generosity of our community. All donations are tax deductible. Also, check out wish list. 10
