PALM TREE REMOVAL - SPECIAL OFFER The big freeze last year killed many of the palm trees in our neighborhood. In addition to being unsightly these trees present a safety concern. They are most likely dead inside and some tops have bent over causing damage to surrounding foliage and fences. If you have palm trees on your property and are interested in having them removed, the HOA has contacted Pablo Sierra with All Texas Trees Services. He has offered to remove palm trees at the following rates: • Removal of palm trees 75' tall for $290/tree, including hauling away all of the tree/ debris and stump grinding a few inches below grade to make room for dirt/sod. • Removal of shorter palm trees for $290/tree less $2/ft for each foot less than 75 foot. For example: if the palm is only 50' tall, it would cost $290 - 25' x 2$/ft = $240. Owners should approximate the cost for removing all of their palms based on their best guesses of palm tree height. The final cost will be determined when Pablo arrives to remove their trees. Please text or email Pablo directly with your name, address, and number of palm trees to remove. At his discretion he may wait until he has several requests in LOE before scheduling the tree removal and may not give advance notice. When the work is complete you will receive an invoice from All Texas Tree Service. Payments should be made directly to All Texas Tree Service. Pablo Sierra All Texas Tree Service 832-723-0862 pcsierra1973@gmail.com Pablo will provide advance notice to residents when he will be coming to remove their trees so that they can unlock a gate that is a minimum of 3' wide where cut-up sections of the tree can be transported to Pablo's truck for disposal. *Please note: The HOA is providing this information for informational purposes only and all contracting will be between the homeowner and All Texas Tree Service. The HOA disclaims all liability should a homeowner elect to use All Texas Tree Service to remove any trees.

About us: The Lakes on Eldridge Swim Team (LOEST) was formed in 2000 by Lakes on Eldridge resident Mary Beth Taylor. LOEST is a nonprofit organization that fields and supports a competitive summer league swim team. Our foremost goal is to provide opportunities for growth, training, enjoyment, good sportsmanship and active participation for all swim team members and their families.

The Lakes on Eldridge Swim Team (LOEST) is a member of the Northwest Aquatic League (NWAL). The NWAL sanctions competitive youth swimming throughout the Houston area and is one of the largest swimming organizations in the United States. The league is divided by competitive potential into five or six-team divisions. Each team swims against the other teams in the division in a series of dual meets. At the end of the season, the teams compete in a divisional meet to decide the division champion.

The team is managed and operated by parent volunteers. We hire experienced coaches to conduct group practices that focus on water safety, improving swimming strokes and providing competitive swim training.

Brimming with humor, a glittering cast of characters, and one beautifully rendered scene after another, this singular novel casts a spell as it relates the count’s endeavor to gain a deeper understanding of what it means to be a man of purpose.

Don’t forget about LOE’s Little Free Library located at the bus stop in front of the clubhouse! Take a book / leave a book.

The Courtesan

April 25 – A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles. In 1922, Count Alexander Rostov is deemed an unrepentant aristocrat by a Bolshevik tribunal, and is sentenced to house arrest in the Metropol, a grand hotel across the street from the Kremlin. Rostov, an indomitable man of erudition and wit, has never worked a day in his life, and must now live in an attic room while some of the most tumultuous decades in Russian history are unfolding outside the hotel’s doors. Unexpectedly, his reduced circumstances provide him entry into a much larger world of emotional discovery.

Lakes on Eldridge HOA/MUD Agreement Reached! The HOA is pleased to announce that it reached an agreement with the MUD regarding the negotiations over the existing land maintenance agreement. The new agreement more clearly defines the party’s responsibilities and will benefit the homeowners of LOE. With the strong support of residents that attended last month’s HOA Board meeting, both the HOA and the MUD worked toward this resolution.

Most of us chose to live in LOE because it is a safe neighborhood and each of us has a responsibility to contribute to this environment. Speeding and running stop signs may get you home seconds sooner but are those seconds worth increasing the possibility of accidently hitting a child playing or not seeing a pedestrian crossing the street? This might happen in an instant but could permanently change your and another family’s lives forever. Please, please, please, slow down and remind all drivers in your household as well as visitors and contractors to be considerate and obey the traffic rules. Your help will let everyone continue to feel safe in LOE!

Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film, Shrek The Musical is a Tony Award-winning fairy tale adventure, featuring all new songs from Jeanine Tesori (Thoroughly Modern Millie; Caroline, or Change) and a sidesplitting book by David Lindsay-Abaire. Shrek brings all the beloved characters you know from the film to life on stage and proves there’s more to the story than meets the ears. “Once upon a time, there was a little ogre named Shrek....” And thus begins the tale of an unlikely hero who finds himself on a lifechanging journey alongside a wisecracking Donkey and a feisty princess who resists her rescue. Throw in a short-tempered bad guy, a cookie with an attitude and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you’ve got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there’s one on hand... and his name is Shrek. Tickets available at bridgelandhstheatre.org
