Hope for Houston This Fourth of July, Newcomb Realty Group and Design For Peace are teaming up to make a difference for Houston families starting over after experiencing homelessness. Four years ago, LeTricia Wilbanks founded Design For Peace, a non-profit that helps give women and their families a strong start as they move into their new homes. Most of these women have successfully exited the residency program offered at Mission of Yahweh, a local shelter for women and their children. Design For Peace works alongside these families and helps to make their new residence look and feel like HOME. As you can imagine, most of these families are starting from scratch with nothing but the clothes on their backs. LeTricia and Selena (Mackay), co-owners of the luxury design firm WM, and their team work to furnish and decorate these homes with donated items collected from all over the Greater Houston area. Newcomb Realty Group is passionate about serving the community and helping others achieve the dream of having a place to call home. On July 4th, during the "4th at Fairfield" celebration event (following the parade) NRG will be collecting items for these deserving families. We hope you'll visit our booth to say hi and drop off your donations. We will be collecting *NEW* and unused items such as: • twin bedding sets • queen bedding sets • bath towels, washcloths, shower curtains/rings • household cleaning products • small appliances (kitchen, iron, etc) • kitchen utensils, dishes, and cookware • IKEA giftcards If you have new/gently used furniture or decor you'd like to donate, please reach out to LeTricia directly at LeTricia@the-wm.com

JUNE – BRETT AXELSON

www.facebook.com/Brettrenmusic Brett Axelson hails from The Woodlands, Texas. He’s an original singer-songwriter and sways a relaxed, laidback personality. His style is one-of-a-kind. You might liken it to Kenny Chesney meets Bon Jovi. It’s rock, not in a crashy-loud but a funky-smooth sort of way. Brett entered the music scene in 1982 as a teenager in Portland, Texas, eventually working his way to Austin, where his career took off. Now, he plays at our local Cypress, TX watering holes Brew:30 Taphouse (Telge Rd.) and Rosehill Beergarden (Cypress Rosehill Rd) and others. Among the live venue performances on his 30+ year music resume, Brett has also written the original songs titled “Headin’ Souced,” “Ride Another Day,” and “Miss That Train,” plus you can listen to the rest of his full original album titled “Slow Groove” on all streaming stations NOW! He’s got a Fan Page on Facebook called The Brett Pack – you can follow it for personal messages and updates that only the fans see! I held a much-awaited CMS “SPOTLIGHT” event for Brett Axelson at Creekwood Grill on April 29, 2022. CMS Members: James Womac, Jana Paige Schutt, Chuck Cavaleri, John Armour, and Rick Hanf came out as well as Axelson fans to raise the roof for the occasion! A PHOTO recap is available online now! Stop by @ CYPRESSMUSICSCENE on Facebook! If you haven’t yet, JOIN CMS, so you don’t miss a thing and view the fun at www.facebook. com/groups/498752134842508/media/albums.
