This Fourth of July, Newcomb Realty Group and Design For Peace are teaming up to make a difference for Houston families starting over after experiencing homelessness. Four years ago, LeTricia Wilbanks founded Design For Peace, a non-profit that helps give women and their families a strong start as they move into their new homes. Most of these women have successfully exited the residency program offered at Mission of Yahweh, a local shelter for women and their children. Design For Peace works alongside these families and helps to make their new residence look and feel like HOME. As you can imagine, most of these families are starting from scratch with nothing but the clothes on their backs. LeTricia and Selena (Mackay), co-owners of the luxury design firm WM, and their team work to furnish and decorate these homes with donated items collected from all over the Greater Houston area.

HOA/MUD Agreement Reached! The HOA is pleased to announce that it reached an agreement with the MUD regarding the negotiations over the existing land maintenance agreement. The new agreement more clearly defines the party’s responsibilities and will benefit the homeowners of LOE. With the strong support of residents that attended last month’s HOA Board meeting, both the HOA and the MUD worked toward this resolution.
Most of us chose to live in LOE because it is a safe neighborhood and each of us has a responsibility to contribute to this environment. Speeding and running stop signs may get you home seconds sooner but are those seconds worth increasing the possibility of accidently hitting a child playing or not seeing a pedestrian crossing the street? This might happen in an instant but could permanently change your and another family’s lives forever. Please, please, please, slow down and remind all drivers in your household as well as visitors and contractors to be considerate and obey the traffic rules. Your help will let everyone continue to feel safe in LOE!

D’Lites is really light! Submitted by Julie D'Lites Houston, 26321 Northwest Fwy, Ste 400 Cypress, TX, close to IHop, is a low carb, low sugar ice cream shop and grocery store. All their ice cream flavors are made from either their chocolate or vanilla mix; their chocolate base flavors are 2g carbs, 2g sugar for 1/2 cup; vanilla is 6g carbs, 3g sugar for 1/2 cup, approximately 50 calories. The shop is owned by a local Cypress area couple, Sam & Julie Dunlap. For more on our backstory and nutrition information, check out our website at dliteshouston.com or call 281.304.2313. Heather has been a licensed realtor for 13 years and her construction and home improvement knowledge has served her clients well. Their next big step is to flip homes and they are gaining the reputation of being the Cypress version of “Chip and Joanna.” Most married couples would say they could never work with their spouse, “but we genuinely LOVE working together every day. When a client says, “I love my kitchen so much I want to sleep in here,” says Heather. “We are thrilled and know that this is where we belong; it’s our niche.” Home improvement project inquiries can be sent to wrandsons@ yahoo.com or our Facebook page messenger.

JUNE – BRETT AXELSON
www.facebook.com/Brettrenmusic Brett Axelson hails from The Woodlands, Texas. He’s an original singer-songwriter and sways a relaxed, laidback personality. His style is one-of-a-kind. You might liken it to Kenny Chesney meets Bon Jovi. It’s rock, not in a crashy-loud but a funky-smooth sort of way. Brett entered the music scene in 1982 as a teenager in Portland, Texas, eventually working his way to Austin, where his career took off. Now, he plays at our local Cypress, TX watering holes Brew:30 Taphouse (Telge Rd.) and Rosehill Beergarden (Cypress Rosehill Rd) and others. Among the live venue performances on his 30+ year music resume, Brett has also written the original songs titled “Headin’ Souced,” “Ride Another Day,” and “Miss That Train,” plus you can listen to the rest of his full original album titled “Slow Groove” on all streaming stations NOW! He’s got a Fan Page on Facebook called The Brett Pack – you can follow it for personal messages and updates that only the fans see! I held a much-awaited CMS “SPOTLIGHT” event for Brett Axelson at Creekwood Grill on April 29, 2022. CMS Members: James Womac, Jana Paige Schutt, Chuck Cavaleri, John Armour, and Rick Hanf came out as well as Axelson fans to raise the roof for the occasion! A PHOTO recap is available online now! Stop by @ CYPRESSMUSICSCENE on Facebook! If you haven’t yet, JOIN CMS, so you don’t miss a thing and view the fun at www.facebook. com/groups/498752134842508/media/albums. Watch for BRETT to appear on the CMS Weekend Line Up and JUNE 11; you can see him perform live at Creekwood Grill from 6:30 – 9:30 pm.
