PSHE Lessons As educators, we can focus a lot on mental health problems and the disorders or risk-taking behaviour that can occur in young people. We tend not to focus as much on the factors that can protect young people from developing mental health problems. Obviously genetic and environmental factors play a large part, but one of the key areas that can protect someone from developing mental health problems is their own sense of self-worth. Everybody holds beliefs about themselves and there are a number of factors that contribute to these beliefs. The exercises in this lesson are designed to enable your students to use the play and its characters in a safe environment to start to think about their own sense of self-worth.
