Heavy Equipment and Site Construction Technician

(600 Clock Hours) Students earn credentials from the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) when they successfully complete the Heavy Equipment and Site Construction Technician program. These credentials demonstrate that students have the knowledge, skills and abilities to begin work as heavy equipment operators in the construction industry. Prepare for the following certifications: • NCCER Core Curriculum and Heavy Equipment Operations Levels 1, 2 and 3 • OSHA 10-hour Construction Industry • CPR/First Aid

Electrical Power Line Mechanic (900 Clock Hours) The Electrical Power Line Mechanic Program provides students with the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to become productive members of a utility system line crew. With a focus on safety, students learn basic electrical theory, pole climbing techniques, hardware identification and installation, aerial and underground construction techniques, digger-derrick and bucket truck operation, and more. These are the skills needed to enter into advanced apprenticeship programs required by industry employers.

Welding Technician/AWS Certified

(600 Clock Hours) A career in the Welding Industry provides Career opportunities for Welding Technicians are nearly limitless. Dental Assisting

(640 Clock Hours) The Adult Dental Assisting Program of the Warren County Career Center is designed to give adult learners relevant preparation to become successfully employed in Dental Assisting. Inherent in the program are opportunities for adult learners to emerge as skilled, productive individuals, trained in the latest technology, to meet the needs of the industry. Prepare for the following certifications: • Ohio Certified Dental Assistant (CODA) • Licensed Ohio Dental Radiographer • Dental Assisting National Board Exam (DANB) • Health Care Provider CPR/First Aid

Medical Assistant

(900 Clock Hours) Medical Assistants perform administrative and clinical procedures in ambulatory settings such as physician’s offices and clinics, hospitals, insurance billing agencies, laboratories and emergency rooms. The growth of the aging baby-boom population will continue to spur demand for preventative medical services, which are often provided by physicians. Prepare for the following certifications: • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)

State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA)

(76 Clock Hours) The nursing assistant program prepares students with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care for the elderly and seriously ill patients in nursing homes, hospitals, and home care settings. Pharmacy Technician

(602 Clock Hours) Pharmacy Technicians assist pharmacists in preparing medication orders for patients. They also perform administrative duties such as answering phones, stocking shelves and ordering pharmacy items. Pharmacy technicians are required by the Ohio Board of Pharmacy to complete an approved training program. Through the nationally recognized Pharmacy Technician training program, students are given the skills and knowledge to qualify them for entry-level positions in pharmacies as well as prepare them for the national certification exam. Phlebotomy Technician

(190 Clock Hours) Phlebotomy Technician’s primary role is to collect blood for accurate and reliable test results. A phlebotomist can work in diverse health care settings and with all levels of individuals, from the physician to support staff. This course will provide the phlebotomy student with a working knowledge of collecting blood while emphasizing patient safety, quality assurance, universal and standard precautions. Prepare for the following certifications: • Certified CPT Technician (CPT)

Volunteer Firefighter This course is thirty-six hours in length, and introduces the student to basic concepts, equipment and techniques. This course does not include fighting real fires. After successful completion the student may take the State certification examination.

Firefighter I (184 Clock Hours) This course provides the education and training for the Volunteer Firefighter to transition to Firefighter I. Course requirements meet the national recognized standard, NFPA 1001: Standard for Fire Service Professional Qualifications. Prepare for the following certifications: • Ohio Firefighter I

Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

Firefighter II Transition (84 Clock Hours) This course provides the education and training for the Firefighter I to transition to Firefighter II (career firefighter). Course requirements meet the nationally recognized standard, NFPA 1001: Standard for Fire Service Professional Qualifications.

(160 Clock Hours) This course provides the education and training required for certification as an EMT in the State of Ohio. Topics presented include lifting and moving patients, patient assessment, airway management, CPR, medical emergencies, trauma emergencies, obstetrics, and pediatric emergencies. Upon successful course completion, students are eligible to participate in the NREMT cognitive exam.

You must have a High School Diploma, GED or other high school equivalence certificate such as HiSET or TASC. If you need assistance with this, contact our Aspire division at 513-695-2987 Bring in your official high school diploma or GED so we may make a copy for our records. Or, you may have your high school send us an official transcript. It is recommended you request your high school to fax your transcripts to us at 513-932-2304. If your school mails the official transcript to us it must be placed in a sealed envelope upon receiving it. All transcripts must be signed by a school official or they are not valid.

The WorkKeys Assessment is required for admission to all full-time job training programs and for some part-time programs. This is a standardized test with three parts: Applied Math, Graphic Literacy, Workplace Documents. Nervous about this part? Don’t stress! Our ASPIRE program can help you prepare for these test for FREE!

Make tuition/fee payment or apply for a grant or loan program.
