Peggy Sweeney

I am a retired funeral director/embalmer. As a bereavement educator, in addition to the many courses I have developed and taught over the years, I have reached out to my community through Halo of Love, a support group for bereaved parents, Comfort and Conversation for bereaved adults and teens and Children Healing After Trauma, a learning program for young people and educators. I have authored many award winning articles on coping with grief and loss for community newspapers as well as emergency response publications. Of all my accomplishments I am most proud of my work in helping emergency response professionals cope with the emotional demands of their rewarding careers. Over the years, I have traveled the United States and Canada presenting my Grieving Behind the Badge program for firefighters, police and correctional officers, EMS personnel, and 911 dispatchers.
