Ingredients disclosure

Ingredient disclosure is here to stay

PE can help you navigate Many leading architectural firms are requiring material “ingredient disclosures” to gain entrance into their product libraries.

LEED® v4 is a ‘game changer’ for material manufacturers Increased emphasis is being placed on material transparency and disclosure of ingredients that go into our built environment and the impact they may have on occupant health. The new version of the LEED® rating system, LEED® v4 has dramatically revamped “Materials and Resources (MR)” credits. Credit MRc4 specifically rewards disclosure and optimization of product ingredients. This can be difficult for manufacturers to provide, especially when it comes to “proprietary” ingredients or tracking down ingredients from suppliers. Bottom line, if you want your product to contribute to this credit, you will have to disclose.

HPD - The new vehicle for ingredient disclosure HPDs contribute to LEED v4 MRc4 credit giving your product a marketing advantage. A recent vehicle for communicating ingredient transparency is the HPD. HPD stands for Health Product Declaration. The HPD Standard describes a declaration of product content and direct health hazards associated with exposure to a product’s individual contents.
