LEED® v4 is a ‘game changer’ for material manufacturers Increased emphasis is being placed on material transparency and disclosure of ingredients that go into our built environment and the impact they may have on occupant health. The new version of the LEED® rating system, LEED® v4 has dramatically revamped “Materials and Resources (MR)” credits. Credit MRc4 specifically rewards disclosure and optimization of product ingredients. This can be difficult for manufacturers to provide, especially when it comes to “proprietary” ingredients or tracking down ingredients from suppliers. Bottom line, if you want your product to contribute to this credit, you will have to disclose.
