About Me Architecture Studio: Fire

I am an enthusiastic student with bachelor background of Architecture and Urban planning, which both are my interested directions for future career development. During my bachelor study I accumulated part-time working experience in Architecture, Construction and Urban planning field. All those experience has given me new aspect of seeing things and become the very foundamental part of my study. I have a great passion in design as I always dream to interpret and create spaces that has better relationship with people. I always believe people are the core of the design concept, as designer we should design for people, we should realise the true purpose of our design, no matter in the scale of a building, or the scale of a city.

Pas s io n fo r D esign by PEISEN NIU Design has always been my persuasion since the start of my bachelor study, to me design is not just study, is an attitude to life, is a way of thinking, is a new perspective of perceiving things.
<4
During my bachelor study, Iaccumulated design experience in both architecture and urban planning field, they both work as complement to each other. my urban planning backgournd gives me concept of building in a broader range and architecture allows me to consider urban fabric more profoundly.

Like the Map No. 10 shows amount of CCTV camera and also notice board like law signs and advertising boards, the amount of those elements can tell the main function of the street and how busy it is. Map No. 14 shows the function of buildings in a block which could impact the density and atmosphere of its surrounding environment. Map No.2 shows whether a building on street can be accessed and/or observed directly, which can impact how people feeling when they walking on the street.

Different atmosphere has different influence on people in the area. This map shows how pedestrians' behavior is influenced by atmosphere, and what could be key factors in an area that create different atmospheres. There are three layers on this map, the top layer presents how many pedestrians pass through each intersections that are marked on map, and it is divided into flow in and flow out. The middle layer shows the territory of the area, it also shows different function mix of buildings within the area. By marking buildings' function mix with color from light to dark, it also indicates building's accessibility for public from high to low. In addition, the number of direct transparent interfaces in the area also tells its accessibility, more transparent area obviously attracts more people. Pedestrians stay in the area are represented by dots with different color to indicates different behaviors. Areas covered by satellite images shows where the most pedestrians concentrated and also indicate the existence of landmarks. The map is divided into 2 sections based on difference concluded by above information, and number of pedestrians interact with environment is counted and shown as each dot represents 10 people. In conclusion, this map provides an overall image of change in pedestrians' behavior and differences of areas' characteristics to explain this change.

HISTORY
Although Melbourne has long history, it also very progressive on modernity, which can be shown on its architecture. Melbourne's architecture presents significant changes through history, especially after modernism. The change over time can be observed by comparing satellite image of present Melbourne and detailed Melbourne plan in 1895, which both has been shown on the map. This shows Melbourne's adaption and toleration of different ideas, and this is the most important reason why I love Melbourne.
