my Story. Background
My name is Pei-Yu Wang, I was born in Taipei, studied communication design in ShiLin high school of commerce, and graduated from Ming-Chi University of technology, majored in industrial design with bachelor degree. I am outgoing and like to try out new things. Family members include father, mother, and brother. My parents nurtured and support my interest and development. Whether it was art, painting, or foreign language learning, they gave me great freedom and development space. They made me proficient in English and foreign languages since I was a child, as well as the skills and knowledge of art design, which are important for my growth along the way. The impact is far-reaching.

Autobiography
Study
I have been very interested in art and design since I was a child. I have developed knowledge and skills in different fields of materials and researching during my studies. In addition to material design, I am also good at interactive design, product design, 3D digital manufacturing, visual design, and color planning, social design and other multidimensional design. Whenever I encounter a different design case, I will make it through the appropriate design techniques and processes. I will also cooperate with different team members to present the best works together. Therefore, I participated in many domestic and foreign Design competitions, such as the Germany Red Dot Concept Award, IF Design Award, Yodex Design Exhibition, and the young pin Design Award, have all achieved good results. These awards are affirmation and support for me to be proud of. In addition, I often go to exhibitions in my spare time, and read many design magazines in different fields, or articles on foreign design websites to learn about the latest design trends, and let myself cultivate the sensitivity and novelty of design and aesthetic feeling.
Intern
Because of my interest in material design and 3D digital manufacturing during university, i served as an intern at the Institute of Materials and Chemical Engineering of the Industrial Technology Research Institute for one year. During my tenure, I was mainly responsible for the design of demo models of electronic materials and components in the laboratory, and 3D design model production of ceramic materials by digital processing. Compared with the design and aesthetic perception learned during the school period, the products made during the ITRI tend to be mass-produced and rapid-manufactured design processes. In just one year, I have participated in many high-quality ceramic technologies related to ceramic injection molding and CNC manufacturing processes. On the other hand, I have a lot of design experience in electronic component circuit configuration and mechanism housing design. This year's study will help me a lot in mass production design in the future.
Activity
I am outgoing and lively. I like to participate in many international workshops and international exchange. In addition to participating in the international design and commercial marketing workshops held on campus every year, I also participate in public art exhibitions held in Songshan Cultural and Creative Park in my spare time, and a workshop on innovative materials design and application at the Barcelona Elisava Design school in Spain. Participating in the work visit and design camp.
Prospect
In the future, I hope to use the knowledge and skills from my studies in my future work, and I hope to acquire many knowledge and skills that cannot be acquired academically at work, so as to enhance my competitiveness and teamwork, I will be able to make from creative concepts to the core design, in addition to designing products that not only meet the expectations of the public, but also to create the company's future development and potential.
In addition to my own English conversation skills increase, I have a lot of learning and growth in different design fields and crossfield commercial design marketing, and also broadened my knowledge and skills in material design applications. On the other hand, what is more important is the spirit of mutual coordination and mutual assistance between teamwork. Students from all over the world are designers, engineers, and managementrelated. They work together to learn from each other and stimulate the possibility of design. The final result is convenience. It is the result of teamwork. Autobiography

Exploring Taiwanese traditional bamboo craft art on how they can be adapted into future technology products.
Learning from bamboo craftsman Master Chang teached us traditional bamboo techniques, while in school, I developed the technology side of ideation to comebine traditional art and electronic product.
Inspirations from bamboos Combine with technology Natural bending forms Texture and resilience Time of the changes From the evolution of traditional bamboo art to modern technology, bamboo has gradually become a material in our lives. However, its use has gradually become a substitute for wood materials. People forget the characteristic of bamboo as a special material, which is the special characteristic of twists and turns.

Technology
Ideation from learning bamboos Taking the characteristics of bamboo's resilience as the starting point, the balance between traditional crafts, modern aesthetics and technology, and this is also the evolution of bambppart. Combine these evolutionary processes in time and integrate them together. “In time allows tradition to gradually enter modernity and integrate into our lives. The passage of time is like ripple, such as the toughness of bamboo bending back and forth. With the bamboo's joint as the pivot. The bamboo piece subjected to the thrust and bending ,presenting the process of gradual change, showing the change in time.

Material and Model testing I tested out several bamboo combinations for the idea of a surface which transform its shape with the force of pushing throughout time. Then I made a 1:3 scale model with liner rails and motors to experiment the function for clock and programme the time speed.
the Making. Hand made bamboo flow Making from bamboo tubes to product is a long and difficult process, only 5% of sticks I splited was straight enough to use. This project used 100 bamboo sticks to form the surface. After all the months of making, processing bamboos from tubes to thin bamboo sticks, then with bleaching and sun-drying to correct the colour, refinement, and polishing to prevent them from getting damp or molding. I combined them with a natural binding method and attached it to the base of the wall clock.
Electronic Develope Flow Bill of material for the time to work and in order to push the bamboos to form and function.

In Time is a wall clock with bending bamboo sticks in motion as a time indication, the thrust behind the bamboos pushing them in time speed. The linear motion of time is from left to right, with the bamboo joint as the divide. The upper half is the hour hand. Every 12 hours, it returns back to left from the far right point, the lower half is the minute hand, every 60 minutes, it returns back to zero, one hour is the cycle.(similar to the idea of a flip clock).

A tasty dried fruit drink pack with people and local story to tell.
the Problem. Undergoing multiple difficulties Local agriculture is in recession From the opportunity, we got to cooperate with PingTung County Government Place-making, that was when we found out the smallest village of Taiwan produced the most delicious wax apple for the entire country, but the yield is reducing each year due to ageing population, natural factors, and lack of workers, etc.

Fruit waste
Nearly 10% of harvest are damaged and not able to sell. Wax apple is an extremely delicate fruit where the skin is very thin and easy to damage, but it is still tasty and edible. The customers on the other hand can not accept the appearance of the damaged ones, which make it a major problem for the farmers. With nearly 10% of the goods being damaged and not able to sell.
In order to solve the problems, we associated with the local community, which mostly are farmers and retired people. We processed the damaged fruit into dry fruit, then developed a series of products to connect with their local stories and throughout a service system from making to selling, they have better knowledge of how to promote their best products. Throughout field research with the local farmers, we not only understood the difficulties in planting wax apples, but also experienced the unique characters of each in individual village, what we learned in these trips were meaningful. A Taiwanese saying goes If it blows south winds, the wax apple will be even sweeter. The black pearl wax apples swing with the winds, light up the surroundings, as if they are the passionate locals in Linbian. We h e l d a w o r k s h o p a t t h e l o c a l community, demonstrating how to turn wax apples into dried fruit. With the use of special ingredients, it can become an exquisite by-product. We encouraged them to bring their own ingredients so that they may create their own specific flavor. In the workshop, we have teachings on making dried wax apples, testing different combinations of ingredients into drinks, and DIY packaging, as the complete production process.

A mere tendency to produce A rudiment is indeed Sometimes with experiment
the Learning.
Transform the speaker from shape to function From learning the function and housing of a product to design for a new life to the speaker, we aim for a product design flow to fully study the idea to product design in real life.
We tried to disassemble electronic devices to know how to build one 2.1 channel multimedia speaker deconstruction
I disassembled the speaker to each pieces, then made 3Dmodel of each component to know all the sizes for further design in housing and structure use, it was to know how i should design for spacing out each component.
This is the dismantling graphic of all the component, with one bass speaker, left anf right speaker. the teacher let us learn how to make bill of material for the product, and a bom tree for all the components, as a product designer, we need to know every key element to design.

the Solution. Form and function mood board Giving desktop speaker a whole new life with mixed texture Industrial style. While you’re listening to music you can also enjoy the surroundings. Rather hang it in the wall or put it everywhere. with cement and copper texture is the new trend in office or any indoor space. Combined various materials into geometric forms, such as marble, cement, wood and copper. Mixedtexture is trending in modern interior design, this style will go with the set of my idea concept.
Devices Support multiple devices Easy to control
Connect Use either bluetooth or FM Connect it from devices
Speakers Dual speakers or just single use Listen anywhere with music
Music The sound with cement material makes everything solid and real
With 3D modeliing and model making I can predict how the final productwill look like and how I can fit in all my component. I also made some function adjustment to wireless speaker and can be sync with bluetooth at once with Fm connect, so that the speaker can be put in anywhere in the room without the wires hanging, it is also megnetic on the wall.

Buildings remain Merories too We can feel it in the hallway
Flashback to the golden area of Song Shan Cultural and Creative Park where used to be the most productive tobacco factory in Asia. Although it no longer produced, we still preserved the original buildings and surroundings. Nowadays, it has turned into a cultural and creative park since 1988. Walking through the hallway with these history, it feels like they were still trading just now. Those memories never fade away but has turned into clouds and mist, coexist in this urban city.

Silicone
Organic softness Natural Random Analog From the ancient Roman era, cement has been a major material for construction. Even more, in contemporary design, it is used to show a materialize pureness. However, this type of material seems to lack a close relationship with the human being. For instance, most of the living organisms exist in nature with their characteristics
of "softness",which inspired us to rethink whether cement might exist in a more intimate relationship with the living bodies. Combining with the new manufacturing thinking, we hope we could provide a new and unconventional characteristic of cement material.

the Making. Through Bionic Digital Rapid Manufacturing We hope we could provide a new and unconventional characteristic of cement material with digital biological calculus to form and create.
With digital manufacturing and 3D printing, bio-organic forms can be digitized. The feeling that cement brings to people is stiff and cold. We mix cement with silicone to produce a result that is as soft as silicone but has the same touch and visual quality as cement. These technologies can be applied to buildings, decorations, structures, etc.
