THESE girls were happily enjoying their breakfast in Taman Bunga Raya, Setapak, yesterday when the authorities came knocking. A total of 140 officers from Kuala Lumpur City Hall, Immigration Department, Tenaga Nasional Berhad and People’s Volunteer Corps (Rela) probably “ruined” their breakfast but the authorities were merely doing their job. At 11am yesterday, seven stalls were torn down by City Hall for operating illegally and for setting up illegal structures without permission. Customers, who were mostly students, were forced to finish their meals while standing by the road side. ● Full report on page 6
