catch a stroke so take caution. Avoid opening the refrigerator or freezer after being in the heat or working up a sweat. Avoid diuretics meaning substances that increase water loss via the urine. If you want to be well hydrated a cold beer or coffee chiller is not the way to go, seeing alcohol and caffeine are two very common diuretics in our everyday lifestyle.
Avoid sitting in close vehicles even if the windows are down, and never leave your children or pets in there as well. And yes even with the windows down it’s still a lot of accumulated heat in there so it’s just as good as stilling in an oven.

easiest ways you can beat the heat and the most practical. There are lots of ways to make do with what you have, for instance if you don’t own an air conditioner make your own by placing a bowl of ice in front of a fan and letting it blow on you. Window fans work best when blowing air out so put your fan on the sunny side of the apartment and let it expel the hot air while pulling cool air from open windows on the shady side. Keep shades or curtains pulled on the sunny side of the house to keep the heat and harsh rays away from you and your family. Even your diet affects your body temperature and even how you prepare your meals. Eat foods high in water content, like fruits & vegetables. Don't use your oven; use the microwave or a toaster oven. Better yet, eat out, if there is no cause to generate heat in your home it would be cooler

The term ‘DIVA’ was originally used to describe a woman of rare, outstanding talent. The term derives from an ancient Italian word meaning "goddess", which, in turn derives from the feminine form of a Latin word divus, meaning "divine one”. ‘SOLE’, relates to the exclusivity, uniqueness and individuality of a person. Placed together, these two words is what this establishment is about, the individuality and uniqueness of a person being shaped into something remarkable not only for the runway but in all aspects of life. Home is where the heart is…………sure clichés are what most of us are tired of but the truth is some of them do make sense. It does not matter what road you travel or where you have been, you will always know where home is. Home his not the house you grew up in or the place where you like the most. Home is where you feel loved the most, if even at all. Some of us long to feel whole, some place of belonging and though we are all individuals and uniquely different we all somehow just what to fit in. Be a part of the herd, simply belong. One wants to be the outcast and no one likes to feel unwanted. What do you do when you have never had a home? No I don’t mean orphans or poverty stricken people…..No!! I’m talking about those who had it all, the best of the best and still no home…… confused? Allow me explain.
Having possessions is one thing having love is another. You can buy just about anything but the affection of a mother or the wisdom of a father or even the companionship of a soul mate are things fare to great and rear to even be available for purchase. Even some of the wealthiest people are never afforded that luxury where as some of the most underprivileged persons do. How is that? Why is that? And which is more valuable? To answer how? Is simple life is not fair, cynical but true therefore no one has it all, it is a case of making the best of what you are given, it is up to you to decide your wealth based on what you have, your perception of what true treasure is, whether it is more money than you can ever spend and no love or no money and the kind of love where you eat from the same plate and drink from the same cup . To answer why? Is not that simple no one really knows why the wonders of life unfold the way they do, all you can do is try your best to stay alive, life is easy , living is the hard part. How you 7
chose to live is in your own personal discursion. Not everyone is afforded the same luxuries therefore some are luckier than others, which leads to my third point which is more valuable of the two? Again, it is hard to speak on everyone’s behalf because we are all different, we all do not want the same things therefore our perception on this would differ. Some may say “who needs love when you have money”, and who needs a “home” when you can buy an island. However not everyone feels that way, some may thing what is life without someone to spend it with, or what good is it to have all this money and no parents or friends to enjoy it with.
You can never find true love if you do not know what it looks like or feels like, same way you cannot give it if it was never given to you. How would you know how to? Everything should have a balance, no one should be poor and everyone deserves love. No matter the form that may be needed, we all need to be loved and appreciated and even though it is the reality of most people, no one deserved to be poor. What if you could trade unconditional love for wealth would you? And if u would consider this, do you really think it’s worth the trade? You may laugh and say you prefer the island, but be honest……would you enjoy it alone? It is one thing to have loved and lost but it is another to have never loved at all, but what is even worst is to have never been loved or returning the gesture, that brings back the topic of home. Where is home? Home is where the heart is, and the heart is where you are loved.

ple lust for the things they don’t need and it’s a proven fact that people always want what is bad for them so chances are what you crave is not what you need and what you do need will not be what you crave. If you could eat chocolate would you pass it up for celery? Think about it.
All good things come to an end…., as much as we dislike the reality of change it’s still a reality we all have to face. We grow we get hurt we learn and we accomplish. One thing for sure is living life day to day is uncertain and just like any gamble you don’t always know your out come before it happens, trying to predict who we will be or where we will be is uncertain…we can try to plan our future but the truth is no one knows what lies ahead.
Do not let your friends be the deciding factor in your life because just like life, friends are unpredictable and can surprise you when you least expect it, leaving you to face the after math alone. Face it you can’t force people to be something they are not, therefore you should not expect people to adapt to your need just because you need it. You can’t force people to stay and you can’t control their hearts. Sometimes you need to just let it be, let them be and move forward on your own, you entered this world by yourself and so too you will leave it by yourself.
Being in your late teens, early twentys there is a transition period like no other, it’s the time you do your self-searching it’s when you stop living by the rules and when you start making your own. Everything has a season in life and soon or later things change, people change, we change. It’s at that point we begin making our own path, deciding where we go as individuals and how we fulfil our desires as people with wants. If it’s one thing all humans have in common is the ability to want, everyone wants something and a large percentage of them do what is necessary to achieve it. As nice as it would seem to live in a dismal world thinking we will be forever young and safe in our innocence the reality is life is not pretty and as much as we want to hide from it we can’t. Sooner or later we will want those needs met and when one door closes another will open, even if that door leads down a road of self-destruction some of us may still travel that journey because of a little thing called lust. Most peo-

Embrace life and its challenges take each day head on and don’t be afraid to be yourself. You alone can decide where you want to be in life, you can’t keep making excuses forever and you can’t live in a world of make believe and pretend. Life does not come with a personal wishing well, you can’t just dream and it appears. No!! It knocks you when you’re down and it steals you from your happiest moments, however if you remember the saying “what does not break you makes you stronger “then you will be fine.
Everything comes full circle and everything has a season, whether you are prepared for it or not it Do not let your friends be the deciding factor in your life because happens and it hurts, but all just like life, friends are unpredictable and can surprise you when you least expect it, leaving you to face the after math. you can do is try to stay afloat and survive. Even if you choose not to face reality now, one day you will have too because like it or not all good things come to an end.

1.What genre of music do you?
me begin do the same.
Hip-Hop, R&B and Pop as an artist but as a producer I do more or less all. I will admit that I suck at Reggae music production, hats off to those who do it for a living.
4.Who is your favourite international star?
2.What made you decide to choose this Genre?
I think my love for Urban music [HipHop and R&B] came from the love of the fashion and the way the artist can literally touch on any topic and still get the warm reaction from the fans of the art form. Pop is just from the present connection and blend it has with Urban music.
3.Who inspired you to do music? I would have to say my parents inspired me to do music in a way they themselves didn't realize. My dad writes poems and my mom writes gospel songs. Being around them and seeing the way they used their talent and love for writing to express their every emotion made
I would have to say Jay-Z is my favorite international star because he's the overall package everyone in music could take a page from and apply it to their position from artist to record label owner.
5.Who is your favourite Local star? I would have to say my favorite local star is calypsonian Shadow. I remember when I was younger, I heard one of his albums playing in my dad's car and his topics and the way he puts it across to me was not just different but refreshing in the Calypso arena.
6. What struggles did you go through or are going through to come out into the world of music?
By: Mahalia Joseph
I always thought the struggle was the negative people who frown on Trinbagonians singing "Amer16
ican" music but I've recently realized the real struggle was my faith. The more I believed I was doing something amazing the better the responses and opinions of it became.
Wow...no exaggeration but I've wrote probably over 300 songs. Not all were great or good though lol. I've released two mixtapes online and three songs on radio. The feed back was enough to make me continue pursuing the dream.
7.What were some of your turning points?
12.Who do you hope to do collaborations with in the future?
The biggest of all my turning points and I'm sure it's the turning points of many was the era of I would sell 95% of my songs to do a song with "Dance Instruction Urban" music. Yeah the Cold Play. They're brilliant composers and artist. Macarena is the bomb but when they brought that Everything they do is a hit. concept to Hip-Hop and MADE MONEY OFF OF IT!! WOW!! 13. Do you produce your own music? 8.What gave you the encouragement to move on? I was thinking to myself "I need to keep pushing my music if these guys could make it" lol
Yea, I've produced alot of my stuff but presently I'm sick and tired of my production lol. For the reason that I know my "safe zone", writing a song to a beat I made isn't a challenge cause I know what key and what tempo I sound good in. So I'm working with different producers for my next compilation.
9. Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years? The next five years I see myself being wealthy and 14. Have you ever wondered how real, your favourite “reality show” is? They are all scripted; sure it may start off real, or seem that way but as time goes by scripts are involved. Did you really think that one person’s life could have so much coincidental drama? No one group of friends could have that many links to the same people and the same stories. If it’s meant to be real, you know in everyday life, then why do most of them live double lives. Like the girl who acted as an intern at teen vogue but in reality, she was a star of not one but two shows. You go on to watch her journey as a “normal person” on screen working like an average Joe but then she does books and has clothing lines, you see her in commercials and cameos in movies, but none of that is ever mentioned as you see her running with coffee and answering phones ? Reality is defined as: the state of things as they actually exist, rather than as they may appear or may be thought to be. If that is true then how many interns of a magazine do you know end up on the cover more than once while still interning? That defiantly does not seem the way it exist rite? So why call it reality TV? Why take seven “strangers” put them in a house and then say you’re going to tape their everyday lives but put them in an unreal situation where they too have a script. If someone is telling you how to live, it’s not your life and it’s certainly not real, so again where is the reality in reality TV? Drama makes good TV, but don’t call it reality when there is nothing real about it. Sure it’s fun
to see people have cat fights and gossip then make up then do it all over again, but be real. No two girls can be in the same situations at the same time with the same guys, and no one lives is just about being at a pool and shopping and drinking all night long. Even while at those clubs they get text messages on their phones telling them what to do, where to sit and who to talk to. Not even their fun time is real. Sure they can have real emotion The what they working. The only realsame person you see in everyday life could lead a double life and you would never know.
By: cj.
Who would have thought the same girl getting coffee would be on the red carpet at award shows......some reality.
and not all the situations may be false but still is that the “reality” we want our young ones to look at and think is the life? SURPRISE!!!!! Even those people work, when you see them making a fool of themselves, guess 19
ity about reality TV is that they get paid to act a fool. So not even they can lie around for free. So the next time you run to watch your favourite “reality” show, try to remember that old saying “all that glitters is not gold” what you see is not what it is, so don’t wish for it, don’t strive to be like it, no one should want to live a lie, I know I won’t, would you?

A8: Paris- France. In my view it’s the fashion capital of the world. I luurrrrve me some European clothing.
23
A9: My other interests than my day job would be Etiquette tutor “something like hitch, but i won’t do the dating thing” and Personal Protection. I know they don’t really go hand in hand but I love to hear well-spoken people as well as I
have some “gringo” in me. And I am very passionate about people’s safety.
A17: Bringing a smile to every needful face at no cost to them WHATSOEVER.
Q18: If you could give one piece of advice to anyone with a dream. What would it be?

A10: Law. And I plan on embarking on that very soon to.
Q19: Do you have a fashion role model? Who inspires you to do what you do?
Q11: what do you think about the fashion industry worldwide?
A11: It would be nice if men could be catered for just as much as the ladies in the industry. Even though it has been said that the industry is one for the ladies, BUT, MEN WEAR CLOTHES TOO..... Q12: What would you say have been your biggest challenge as a model to date?
A12: UNDERWEAR IN FRONT OF HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE... That’s a definite. Q13: If you could model for one international celebrity designer who would it be and why?
A13: Well to honestly narrow it down to one would be totally misleading, so since it’s my interview I’ll give two Ben Sherman:- I verily believe this man tailors clothes for me. .. Anything I wear (well the few pieces I have) fits PERFECT!!! Kenneth Cole: - Again the fit says it all.
Q14: What is your vision for yourself in the next 10 years?
A14: Business Oriented, having a family, and most importantly being a humanitarian not for any recognition of any sort but simply to tend to the less fortunate both locally/regionally and also internationally. Q15: what do you think about TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO FASHION WEEK this year?
A15: VERY hard work and LONG HOURS, but it was definitely worth the experience. I would surely do it again.
Q16: What is has been your easiest modelling experience to date? A16: A charity event for a community showing & designer back in 2007 Q17: What is one goal you would like to accomplish before you die?
24
A19: I admire male models, but I wouldn’t really say I have theme them a role model, Simply because there are enough of them in the world already. I need to be me and show my own style. And as strange as it may sound he is not a model but JOHN LEGEND inspires me a lot. Q20: Who is your style icon or favourite designer? A20: Kenneth Cole.
Q21: What do you think of the current fashion movement in Trinidad and what part do you play?
A21: My views are that the movement could do with something like a ministry. In the sense of models not having to be searching and sometimes begging to get assistance and or wardrobe for certain shoots monetary assistance and so on. Any part that I could play to make a positive change, I’m all for it.
25
26
Q1: What inspired you to venture into the modelling?
A1: My older sister was a model when I was younger and knew that’s what I wanted from since then Q2: What motivates you to be active in the fashion industry?
achievement as a model?
A6: I think my biggest achievement is yet ahead of me, I really wanna perfect everything I do and I have not done that just yet.
A2: The recent growth in the industry locally and internationally motivates me to do more and aspire to reach as far as I can within the brackets of the industry.
A3: Models who don’t allow themselves to grow, assuming that they have reached and they know everything there is to know.
Q10: What other profession do you think you would be good at, or interested in?
Q4: What do you think fashion is?
A5: Fashion Week 2010
Q6: What is your biggest
Q9: Other than modelling what interests you and do you have a day job? If so what do you do?
A9: I really love Acting, Tennis and Swimming. I do have a day job; I am a Customer Servi c e Representative.
Q3: What is your pet peeve when it comes modelling?
A4: I think fashion is one’s preferred style explored and exaggerated to the point where others are like, “wow, that’s hot, that’s different”. Q5: Where was your greatest modelling experience thus far?
A8: I’ve already done that, In fashion week T&T 2010, I’ve walked amongst my own and represented my own, but anywhere else? Paris in a heartbeat.
Q7: How would you describe yourself in three words? A7: Energetic, Self-motivated (one word), Amicable
Q8: If you could walk the runway at any fashion show in any country where would it be?
27
A10: I wanna be an Actress so Bad! But I’ll be glad to awake as a Flight Attendant tomorrow. Q11: what do you think about the fashion industry world wide? A11: I believe the industry is expanding widely and becoming aware that size 1 models
hardly exist, and are now inviting and opening doors to all people and body types to explore fashion, which is really nice. Q12: What would you say have been your biggest challenge as a model to date?
A12: I think my biggest challenge is to control my skin and eat healthy.. I love to eat.
Q13: If you could model for one international celebrity designer who would it be and why? A13: Kimora Lee Simmons…. Her clothes is very real and day to day, for all body types, I think I’d fit in perfectly. Q14: What is your vision for yourself in the next 10 years? A14: If not an Actress or Flight attendant, an internationally recognized Model close to retirement…lol. But accomplished and RICH!!!! Q15: what do you think about TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO FASHION WEEK this year?
A15: Very different styles and designer views were merged together and I think that’s what sets Trinidad and Tobago apart from the other countries. Q16: What is has been your easiest modelling experience to date?
A16: None so far, I’d say has been easy, because I always get so nervous before anything I do except cast. But what comes most natural to me is runway.
Q17: What is one goal you would like to accomplish before you die?
A17: I’d like to do something that sets me a part and make me stand out, something that makes me a role model for young women, not sure what that is as yet but I know that’s what I wanna do.
Q18: If you could give one piece of advice to anyone with a dream. What would it be? A18: Set your own pace and your own standard, you can’t be anybody but you, so don’t try to fit in if u were created to stand out. Do what you have to do and follow your dreams. Trust me! Q19: Do you have a fashion role model? Who inspires you to do what you do?
A19: I love me some Tyra Banks, just seeing where she came from and how randomly she was discovered shows how anyone’s dreams can be realized before their eyes without even planning, and seeing how far and diverse she has become making the industry her lifestyle, I see that doing what you love can be your job and I am encouraged daily.
28
Q20: Who is your style icon or favourite designer?
A20: OMG!!! Keri Hilson, Her stylist deserves an award!
Q21: What do you think of the current fashion movement in Trinidad and what part do you play?
A21: I’m extremely excited about the fashion movement and how fashion is finally being taken seriously, I love how involved and in love people are becoming with fashion. Creative juices are flowing and the world is becoming aware of us Trini’s unique taste and flavour .

HOW MANY PARTNERS YOU HAVE HAD IN THE PAST? All men are different but one thing they may all have in common is the need to know how many guys you have slept with. They never really like the answer but, but they will always want to know. So if its five guys, then tell your hubby....its three!
So you can be frank and tell them how they really are, or you can keep them busy at their guessing game. However, remember it’s you who will actually benefit if you talk to your partner and let them know exactly how you like the job done.
WHEN YOU LIE AND WHEN YOU DON'T! As i previously said, guys aren't mind readers. IS HE REALLY FULFILLING YOUR EVERY They would just love to know what is your little NEED? signal that indicates that you are lying. Every guy loves the idea of being the ultimate Whether its your nostrils twitching, a flicker in lover. Even if u respond to him positively when your ear or even a raise in the pitch of your voice. Oh how they wish they could tell when you are telling a little white lie!
YOUR FACEBOOK PASSWORD! Whether it be your e-mail, g-mail, msn, twitter ,my space, they just wish they knew your account password. Even if you and your hubby have a good relationship, and both trusts each other to a certain extent, he would still love that one opportunity to dig in your inbox, outbox and junk. He may show no interest in your phone but if you place a password on it, however, there will be a sudden as to what you are hiding in it.
THE MEANING TO ALL YOUR MANY LAUGHS! laugh #1- "yes honey whatever you say!!" laugh #2- "I’m not laughing with you, but AT you!!" laugh #3- "baby you are so funny and i can't get enough of you!" how they wish they knew which it really is!
YOUR BRA SIZE! Guys don't actually wish they know this....they being intimate, they still can't read your mind. just don't! They can be however familiar with 33
your twins, they still can’t tell A from B to C! The only 34, 36 and 38 they know of are the number of girls' breasts they look at throughout their average day!
WHICH COCKTAIL GETS YOU DRUNK THE FASTEST! On the first date, when a guy tells you to order any drink that you want......don't!! Order what you know and what you can handle. Guys with no game tends to pamper girls and come across as a "pushover". They often score in the end as they start looking a lot hotter and sounding a lot cooler after getting drunk off of probably 3 measly, sweet cocktails! YOUR MIDDLE NAME! The only probable reason a guy will wish to know your middle name is to incorporate it in trying to crack your blackberry password. Another reason? They forgot it since the first time you told it to them when they were trying to seem genuinely interested.

HOW SEXUALLY ADVENTUROUS ARE YOU? Some men are just too afraid to come out and ask you this. Not wanting to disrespect and appall you, yet wants to find a way in getting to know what you won't and would do in the sheets. So it's best you drop him some hints.
WHAT DO YOU REALLY THINK OF YOUR MAN PHYSICALLY? Every man, like all women, are conscious of their physical being. In fear of coming across as having a low self-esteem, they may not want to come out and outright ask you this. However, they would ask your opinions on certain things. Like a new haircut, a swim trunks or whether or not he looks better shaved or not. So just as you like a little compliment here and there, do the same for your hubby too!

By Afiya I. Bishop After shopping at Trincity Mall one Saturday afternoon with my other half, we got hungry and decided to get something there. I was so fed up of fast food and wanted a change, something delicious, and nothing soaked in oil. He offered to buy so I took advantage and wanted to go to a nice restaurant. The one we both agreed on was the Mongolian Grill. Upon entering the restaurant I noticed the dim lighting which relaxed me a bit from the bright lights of the mall. While we were looking around a young lady approached us and explained how you go about ordering your food. She directed us to an area where there was a long glass case. The prices of the meals were available for viewing and were quite reasonable; there were meals that were less than one hundred dollars ($100). There was an assistant behind the glass case. She said we were able to create our own platters starting with the meats, and I thought finally I get to choose which cuts of meat I wanted instead of having to eat whatever the chief puts in my plate, then we
when on to the starches and the vegetables. Just when I thought we were finished she motioned us to another counter where there were spices and seasonings. Puzzled, we asked what we were required to do. She explained
39
we had to season our food any way we liked using the herbs and spices before us. There were reds, browns and greens ranging from paprika, cayenne pepper, pepper flakes, Mongolian spices, onions, garlic, parsley (both
fresh and dried) and many more. Eventually my platter consisted of Lamb with noodles and veggies and my boyfriend’s was boneless chicken breast with a different kind of noodles and veggies. We were then invited to the seating area while our raw food was taken to the cooking area which was in plain view of the patrons. The furniture was made of dark wood and was unusually high kind of like bar stools but more comfortable. While waiting on our meal the waitress brought us the beverage menus. We choose the fruit chillers which by the way were also made in view. The service was second
to none, the staffs was pleasant and professional, and they even came over to advise how much time it would take before our meal was brought to us. We had the opportunity to take in the ambiance the place was well decorated but not overdone. The music played in the restaurant was not too loud so conversations could have been held and would not have been effected or disrupted by it. When we were served our piping hot platters we were all too excited to experiment our creations. The food was perfectly prepared and talk about value for money. The chillers were very refreshing
and complimented our meals. For the duration of the time we were there our waitress visited our table to ensure everything was to our expectation. Before leaving we left a generous tip because I was so pleased with the food and service and we promised each other we would have to return for dinner next time.
I'm laying here because my tummy aches, can't help but hear the constant noise that my heart makes. So much has been going on with me lately. Feeling as though I have lost myself, almost completely! I'm liming and partying as if there is no tomorrow, but as we all knows, after joy, always comes sorrow. I've never had so much free time on my hands, after the general elections came and changed my plans. On top of that I was getting through a painful break-up, which probably caused me and the devil to somewhat make-up. Been going out every night since Election Day, now, I do all things I used to say "NO" to and "NO WAY!” I could keep using the excuse that I’m bored, or you can help me get back on the right track, dear Lord.

Becky's diabolical death floods the airwaves causing indigo rains to flood the hearts of her classmates and created the sorrowful escape of belief in Calculus: Those who were addicted to meth should have a stronger addiction to numbers. Shuddered thee her classmates, for the fear of another fallen soldier.
Tick Tuck, the clock again casually whispers, as the class is zoned into Binomial Theorem. Again another line up of proletariat , pass the little green man via their Sharp (calculator) pockets onto one another, like passing the Olympic Torch proudly inhaling as its spirit allows the figures with "tan" "cos" "lin" dance around they minds, leading them to the scientific grounds where Becky has now laid.
Hasani Martineaux plays the role in her life as the Hispanic free spirited bimbo, or unmannerly "chica" as some men in her neighbourhood referred her to and as the Calculus teacher. Everything of her possession, older men of varying shades and identities, donated it to her as she gave her caramel embroidered body with oozed amber and violet needle marks, which she now covers under business polyester shirts. As she commenced on writing solution number 1, her body began to lazily sway as she desperately chewed on her nicotine, until she saw a vision of kaleidoscope pulling her sensations towards it, falling to the ground as Yahweh did, with burdens laid upon her soon to be rest. Students sardined-cluttered as a paramedic, viewed her amber and violent needle marks, and placed her in her black-zipped package, where Yahweh, now was the only eternity to unzip the burdens she laid to rest. Another soldier fallen to death's diabolically kaleidoscope, heading to the scientific grounds where Becky had laid he rest.
Frekled Anamika now silently cries in a corner and scream her guitar strings singing Killing Me Softly, as the tears depress in the nylon strings and Binomial Theorem as the clock chuckles, "Tick Tuck"

1.What genre of music do you? Hip Hop.
2.What made you decide to choose this Genre? Reason for choosing this genre, well firstly I realized that the industry was FILLED with untalented persons, who just make a mockery of themselves, and then i saw persons who had potential to greater than most mainstream artist, but no push and no drive, including myself. So i wanted to stand out and be one of those persons who actually work towards their dream and what would hopefully be my career. 3.Who inspired you to do music? Alot of persons, locally and internationally. Basically with regards to local artist, anyone who has been putting out good music and representing home to the fullest, I would kinda like to see myself on that boat...Internationally, I'm more of a new school guy so persons like young money, Fabolous, Jay-Z just to name a few. 4.Who is your favourite international star? It's kinda hard for me to say that I have 1 favorite, because to tell you the truth anything that sounds good I'll listen to it..... But a person I listen to alot would have to be TYGA TYGA from YOUNG MONEY. 5.Who is your favourite Local star? My favorite local star, would also have to be the persons who actually gave me that motivation and that spark to start taking music seriously, and that would have to be the group y'all might know as NEBULA 868. Those 2 guys have really set me on the right path in terms of where I wanna put myself and what route I should take to be a success. 6. What struggles did you go through or are going through to come out into the world of music? 43
My no.1 struggle would have to be location with regards to what type of music I chose. Secondly would have to be financial struggles, I think that studios and producers are not really about the "helping the upcoming artiste" but instead, its about how much income can that new artiste make them EVEN if they fail. And quite frankly production prices are way to high Jed, thats why most local artiste have poor quality work. 7.What were some of your turning points? Some turning points were, my group falling apart. Its really was a time for me to see my downfall and that I really needed to do this on my own, to put myself in that place where I wanted to be or maybe even deserved to be. 8.What gave you the encouragement to move on? Encouragement to move on came mostly from family and friends. And that inner drive to be what I set out to be. I knew that nothing could get in my way, so I kept that in a loop in my brain.
in the future? Persons I'd like to do collaborations with, Umi Marcano, Nebula, Brendon Starr, Make it Happen, Chromatics.....just to name a few. 13. Do you produce your own music? Presently I don't do my own production, its kinda here and there. But its an intention and well kinda priority to ensure that I do. Because at the end of the day, no one know's me better than me. 14. Besides your music, what would you do, if you had a chance at it? Video production, Music production, Entertainment business. 15. Any words of advice for young upcoming artists such as yourself? Words of advice, KEEP AT IT. You know you best, know your potential and please work on your art to be the best at what you do. Don't make a mockery of yourself. HoLLa.......
9. Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years? I honestly see myself recognized and well established in the next 5 years, also helping other young artist, who had similar aspirations like myself, but no sort of help and guidance. 10.What have you done thus far to market yourself? I market myself every and any way possible. Social networks, friends, you name it. 11. How many songs have you written or released? I've written a number of songs....lost count, number of songs released... a couple well. 12.Who do you hope to do collaborations with 44
For all the times I’ve cried when you hurt me at all the times I’ve needed you mostly, false promises, lies, in this sweet adultery I’ve gotten stronger off it. my pain, your bullshit, was your weekly deposit yet I loved you more than life itself I never even knew how you looked at me your dear valetudinarian but still, you were my honey suckle, crème Bavarian. I had hopes and dreams of being your wife....the last lady in your life you and me against the world ....we were to strife but then along came the music the language of the music, and the spirits from the music.
45
this music was like a decision...running through your veins and drying my heart up like a poison....that I sipped every time it rains the words of this poem is like impossible literature because you may not see the truth in this impossible scripture I just want you all to know that there are reasons for everything that I did, so I’ll write this prose a little more pellucid.................................. ............................. ............................. We met when we were young, you had a girlfriend. But I had no one she was the best, pure and stable I was the worst, but the most fun and capable I worked my magic on you along with my sexual voodoo went everywhere together....no need to hide we were like Trinidad’s very own Bonnie and Clyde before my exams I got a huge surprise! One that would change our lives and make my belly rise i panicked. I just wanted OUT you said NO WAY...you’re the one without a doubt I believed you, I handed you my life on a silver platter I sacrificed my family and education, because 45
then that didn’t matter....................................... ......................................... 6 months, 7 months, 8 months...I’m large can’t eat, can’t sleep because now you only come to give your nokia some charge. What’s wrong? What’s up? Why aren’t you here? you got to go to Tobago to make some money," because you oh so care" but then why is that fat bitch only calling me? Telling me to leave her "property" I didn’t even really care about that, I just wanted to see you but you went on hiding because you know what you had been up to that day you called me, "hey super girl, I’m coming by you now!" I said, "Ok! Hurry up!".....my dear mister Clarke Kent, but I remember waiting all day by myself, outside my house.....On the pavement, 4hrs, 6 hrs.’ dumb bitch wouldn’t go inside, took the whole night till morn, for me to realise that you lied. You were with some HO! laughing ha ha!!!!....my child mother doesn’t even know! you crushed my heart and you broke my soul now only few screws my head can now hold after three days of inhumane dry labour out came my little warrior called Saber. Been to the gym...now I think I’m hotter than ever and now I’ve found someone who makes me feel like I’m a billion dollar! No more Bonnie and Clyde! Now it’s Pooh Bear and Sugar!!!!!!!!!
Now you are trying real hard to make my life a living hell. I’m so sorry for the next girl that falls under your spell, I wish her the best, good luck, and chivalry because I won’t even put that nigga with my worst enemy. So you show every one your bite marks and bruises and such false depiction... that’s why I’ll jump and whine on the day of your crucifixion. This story is but told in a nutshell, but different versions of this were spread, I’m sure you heard them well. But that’s okay; I love these stories in every way because they made me the glorious bitch that I am today!
