Greetings;
On behalf of myself and the consignors I would like to welcome you to the MT Red Angus Association 40th Annual Prestigious NILE Red Angus Sale!! It has been a pleasure to be involved in the development of this sale!
The fact that this is their 40th sale shows the commitment of this Association to its membership and the beef industry as a whole. The programs presenting this offering host some of the top production and bull sales in the land so take advantage of them sharing the base of their program with you!
The current market trends are very positive and with calf prices as strong as they have been in a very long time and the cattle numbers as low as they have been for many, many years the outlook for the future is very bright. The demand for Red Angus cattle both as breeding stock and feeder cattle is tremendously strong. The offering of this provides you as buyers the opportunity to secure value-adding genetics that can advance your program significantly for the future!
If you are looking for females and genetics that can produce top end individuals for both the commercial and seedstock industries, this offering provides a lot of opportunities for you. The open heifers in the offering have some outstanding show heifer prospects for Junior programs. These open heifers are out of top end females and ET programs and will develop into great cows as well. The bred heifer offering is sired by breed-leading genetics and bred to some of best sires available!
The sale will be broadcast on Northern Livestock Video Auction for those that may want to bid online and be viewed there or on the Montana Red Angus website which is www.montanaredangus.org.

Red Dally 381 is out of a moderate made, beautiful dam. She is a good-footed, deep-bodied, nice-uddered female, with a nice disposition and an MPPA of 101. Dally is a long-bodied heifer with a lot of rib and capacity.

C-T Miss Pan 5091 was the high selling cow in the 2021 Big Sky Elite sale for $14,000. We chose to partner with the Hickle family because of this cows outstanding foot and leg structure, perfect udder and her production record. Combining the very best cow families from the C-T herd in Miss Pan and the Feddes herd in the Sleek cow family has proved to work very well. She boasts an MPPA of 106 and never misses. Her first son sold to Cross Canyon Ranch and was one of the top sellers that year. A full sister to these embryos was a highly talked about heifer at Bet On Red in 2022 selling to the Cox family in Washington. Resource 137E needs no introduction. His daughters are some of the top young cows in our herd and this mating could very well produce a donor cow or a herd bull. 5091 is a cow that we continue to flush and are excited to keep getting calves out of.

Y17 maybe one of the most potent and maternal cows to ever walk the pastures of Feddes Red Angus. She boasts and MPPA of 111 with 1% ProS, 1% HB, 22% CED, 1% Milk, 16% ME, 28% HPG, 3% CEM, 1% STAY, 25% Marb and 29% REA. She has 3 other sons that have sold as herd bulls and multiple others in to top commercial herds all over the country. Her daughters are top producers in several herds across the country. This spring we sold half of a 3-month-old daughter for $15,000. We will end up with several of her daughters in the donor pen in the future. This cow just keeps producing top quality calves every time. Combined with Energize the possibilities are endless here.

This opportunity will not come around often!! A full brother to this mating sold this spring in our bull sale for $17,500 to Watkins Cattle Co. in Arkansas and 3K Land & Cattle in Texas. Proven mating here and you can get your hands on some of the coveted Reputation progeny. Feddes Manhattan 2282 was a phenotypically flawless bull with extreme depth, dimension, muscle definition and yet had a nice front end. We used 2282 very heavily this spring and are excited to get those calves. The dam of these embryos has Red Angus royalty running through her veins with Feddes Blockana, LASO Leanna, C-T Linsey, 5L Firefly, CTDB Verdi and JYJ MS Jolene. The cow families here should say it all. 0100 carries a 117 MPPA on her first calf with BR 100, WR 129, YR 119 and IMFR 113. Cow families, growth and carcass! This mating is part of the future of Feddes Red Angus and this is the only time this mating will be offered in the near future.

Here is a mating that will offer the buyer some proven genetics. The MLK CRK Lakota 173 dam has earned a MPPA of 101 and brings maternal qualities to this mating. Her sire, RIDGE Admiral 3411 is in the top 2% for ProS, top 4% for HB and top 10% for GM indices. So this mating should produce not only maternal characteristics but also carcass qualities. We keep using 3411 as to what all he brings to the table. Selling 3 embryos with a guarantee of 1 pregnancy if implanted by a certified embryo technician. Embryos are located at Sleeping Giant Genetics. Shipping FOB.
3C Laurie 2105 offers length and extension in a refined feminine packaged. She is attractive from all angles, striding out easy and demanding your attention on the move. On paper she offers indexes and growth EPDs in the top end of the breed. Her dam has raised replacements for us and her sole bull calf made his mark in our annual production sale going to a long-time repeat customer. She records an MPPA of 103 and a nursing ratio of 3 @ 103. The sire of 3C Laurie 2105 is SUTH Free Style 38G. He is part of the ABS Global bull battery. He is a docile bull that offers power and performance. SUTH Laurie 2105 is a very complete female who has all the tools to make a lasting impact on your herd! We are excited about her AI service sire, LEM Stockyard 2001 ET. He offers an uncommon blend of calving ease, performance, marbling, and phenotype. He also ranks in the top 10% of the population for 8 different traits or indexes! This will be his first calf crop on the market! She is ultrasounded safe AI to Stockyard. Bred to LEM Stockyard 2001 ET (#4659179) on 4/21/23. Pasture exposed from 4/25/23 – 6/20/23 to 3C Energize 2017 (#4653395). Confirmed for a 1/31/23 calf.
Angelo Verdatel 2038, a WFL Merlin 018A daughter, is the product of one of our strong cow families. She is a PIE Cowboy Up 5292 granddaughter and goes back to the Heaven Or Bust 1000B bull on her dam’s side. 2038’s dam is a first-calf heifer and came on very strong with this calf. We know that she will be a keeper for us. Something to note: Four generations down this heifer’s pedigree is Glacier Verdale 339. Luke took this bred heifer to the Lake County Fair his first year in 4-H and she won grand champion bred heifer! 2038 is bred to the RED U2 Money Talks 530F bull and has been ultrasounded safe to her AI date. We think that the calf she is carrying will be something special. We have been very happy with the Money Talks calves we have – they fit right into our program. This bred heifer is deep and broody with a nice feminine look to her – a great addition to your program. Bred to U2 Money Talks 530F (#4085940) on 5/14/23. Confirmed for a 2/15/24 calf.
238K is from the storied Carrie cow family that brought much fame to Buffalo Creek Red Angus and ABS back in the day. If you go back 5 generations, you will find Buf Crk Carrie VC 1174. She was the dam of Buf Crk Hobo 1961, one of the largest selling semen sires at ABS. She is responsible for not only 1961 but a whole tribe of top producing daughters and granddaughters throughout the breed. The four dams behind 238K have an average MPPA of 101. On the sire side, 9 Mile Enterprise is an own son of the Franchise 6305 sire who commanded a large price going to Pieper RA in Nebraska where he has proven to be a great calving ease and carcass sire. Enterprise has followed in his footsteps leaving behind moderate birth, maternal progeny with tremendous carcass traits and fantastic females. Carrie 238K sells with service to a new young sire that Bullis Creek chose to lead their program forward. Introducing FLRA Long Haul RK07 #4614391. Long Haul scanned a 5.0 IMF and is in the top 2% of the Red Angus breed for marbling. Don’t miss out adding this good young female to your herd. Bid early and bid often! Pasture exposed from 6/1/23 – 7/4/2023 to FLRA Long Haul RK07 (#4614391). Confirmed for a 3/20/24 calf.
BIEBER CL STOCKMAN E116

Foxy 241K’s pedigree contains many notable Red Angus sires. Bulls such as Epic R397, Stockman 4051, Stockman E116, Iron Ore, Packer, Trilogy, Chateau 744, Robin Hood, Executive 61J, Jr 107, and Glacier Marias. Study the stats on this gal too. Top 15% for ProS, Top 35% for Herdbuilder and top 17% for Gridmaster. You couldn’t hardly write a better set of EPDs that are this balanced and strong across the board. A little bit of history behind this cow family is that her granddam 6 generations ago sold through the prestigious NILE sale and her dam at the time was one of the highest indexing cows in the Red Angus breed. Foxy 241K sells with an AI service to Fritz Monument. Bred to Fritz Monument 618G (#4169568) on 5/29/23. Pasture exposed from 6/3/2023 – 7/3/2023 to FLRA Long Haul RK07 (#4614391). Confirmed for a 3/5/23 calf.
Check out this Cornerstone female. What a female to start a herd with or incorporate her alongside your top herd matrons. She ranks in the top 10% of the breed in 9 different traits. Sired by the young gun superstar, Fritz Monument out of a first-calf daughter of Stockman E116 – a proven sire that has the attention of the AI industry. With outstanding semen sales ability for Cattle Visions and Bullis Creek, he is a sire that continues to improve EPD wise while adding large numbers of progeny each year. Here is a cow family that is strong numerically and have been standouts in the pasture. 200k’s dam weaned her with a 108 ratio and the next dam back has a lifetime wean ratio of 101. These attributes combined with solid feet, legs and udder structure make for a solid foundation for the future. If you need to find fault with Lakota 200K then I’ll make it easy for you.
Yes she does have short ears from being born on a cold day but she sells with the guarantee that her progeny will be born with a full set of ears. Take note that 200K sells with service to FLRA Long Haul, a high-selling son of Feds Trendsetter out of a 5L Independence daughter.
Pasture exposed from 5/26/23 – 7/4/23 to FLRA Long Haul RK07 (#4614391). Confirmed for a 3/20/24 calf.

Here is a great opportunity to own one of the first C-T Reputation 0094 bred heifers to sell. She has that dark cherry red color and a phenotype that we are all looking for. It won’t take long for you to pick her out in this lineup. She stems from the powerful Linsey cow family and comes with plenty of personal performance herself. 105 YR, top 6% WW and top 4% YW. Her sire, C-T Reputation 0094 sold in the Feddes/C-T 2021 bull sale to Overmiller Red Angus and Niobrara Red Angus and has quickly lived up to his name, building his own “Reputation”. He sired our high selling son in 2023 to Hansine Red Angus SD, and also our high averaging sire group. His calves are consistently dark red and heavy muscled with a great foot and leg set. Her dam is a strong made Front Row daughter with a great udder and foot set. She stems from our long producing and herd building donor cow, C-T Linsey 0964. She is bred to ABS’s popular new herd sire, Bieber Energize for a January calf. This should be an exciting mating – don’t miss this “One Time Opportunity”!!
Bred to Bieber Energize F121 (#3958815) on 4/20/23. Confirmed for a 1/25/24 calf.

FLYING W JOY 102C
This is one robust girl. With this much depth, length and her WW & YW EPDs in the top 5%, she is not one to let slip by. Joy’s pedigree is loaded with carcass upon carcass producing bulls like Feddes Brunswick D202. If this young lady follows in her momma’s footsteps, which we feel she will, she is going to produce calves that are just to make you grin from ear-to-ear year after year. Joy will be a great addition in any herd. Pasture exposed from 5/23/24 – 8/5/24 to CRA Drive (#4718041). Confirmed for a 3/28/24 Bull Calf calf.
Versatility and stayability are just a couple of cards Lageia brings to the game. Add phenotypically balanced from front to back, good leg, foot and udder structure, then a loaded pedigree of low birth weight cows and bulls. You could say she has stacked the deck and is holding a winning hand. Invest in Lageia and she will double your “stake” in her.
Bred to Feddes Liberty D210 (#35339663) on 4/22/23. Confirmed for a 2/28/24 calf.
This is the first female to be offered from our Lakina cow family. They tend to have bulls, but we have horded the few females they have given us. The Lakina Cows consistently produce high quality stock. This cow’s granddam has a 106 MPPA and is considered a foundational herd matron that earned a top spot in our donor pen. 2139’s dam is a ranch favorite for her high performance and incredible length of spine. This bred heifer is a tremendous prospect that is deep bodied, structurally correct, moderately sized with great muscle definition. She is bred to our high-performance calving ease herd sire VGW Astonishing 119, so all the guess work is done. If you want a glimpse into the future what her calf inside will do, check out our heifer calf consignment.
Bred to VGW Astonishing 119 (#4428817) on 4/16/23. Confirmed for a 1/23/24 calf.
Check your heartbeat if this heifer doesn’t get you excited. This cherry red heifer comes to us with a very maternal look. You’ve got to love how well she is put together from front to back. She is a nice-headed, deep-sided, easy-fleshing heifer. Blockana carries that width and capacity all the way through and is balanced in all her pieces. 2232 hails from a proven maternal line and is grand sired by 3SCC Domain A163, one of the industry’s favorite sires right now. One that is sure to be in your herd to stay!
Bred to Bieber CL Energize F121 (#3958815) on 4/27/23. Pasture exposed from 4/28/23 – 7/28/23 to Suth Legend 76E (#4396921). Confirmed for a 3/12/24 calf.
A heifer that puts a lot of good things together. She’s a long-bodied heifer that will be able to produce easy fleshing calves, adding value to your operation. A great, broody female with a nicely set hip. 2233 is a clean, stylish heifer that will make great cows. Grand sired by 3SCC Domain A163, one of the industry’s favorite sires right now.
Bred to 3958815 (#BIeber CL Energize F121) on 4/27/23. Pasture exposed from 4/28/23 – 7/28/23 to Suth
76E (#4396921). Confirmed for a 2/21/24 calf.
I love this heifer and am having a hard time letting her go. She does so many things right. From her start at 81# to a 690# WW (WR 106) I could not ask anything more of her personal performance. She is clean made and has a very feminine head, combined with good feet shape and leg structure. Her phenotype is second to none. She is moderate framed without sacrificing any length, depth of rib, or muscling and finishes it off with a smooth, straight topline. Her EPD profile boasts 11 EPDs in the top 25%, with ProS, GM, YW, ADG, CEM, and CW in the top 7% or better of the breed. Her dam, DDRA VENICE 4003, is the most productive and consistent high-performance cow in the herd. She has all the phenotypical attributes as mentioned above for her daughter. Just shy of ten years of age she is still raising top-end calves, breeding back, and all the while looking good doing it. She is correct in structure and has a perfect udder. I would love to keep 233 but she is an excellent offer for our first trip to the NILE. Bred to GMRA Capital Gains (#4464985) on 4/12/23. Confirmed for a 1/20/24 calf.

Blockana 236 is the epitome of what we are striving to breed for. She is very feminine with a gorgeous front and shoulder, depth of rib, excellent teat placement, a big strong foot and carries herself like a cow. She has a great rear quarter with growth and carcass numbers in the very top of the breed. As you go through this female’s pedigree you will find nearly every donor that has walked our donor pen as well as several of our top selling and producing bulls. The Feddes EightBall 9231 calves are doing a lot of things right and we are excited to get his daughters into production. We often say we are the producer where “Maternal meets Performance”. This heifer truly embodies that phrase. Bred to the exciting Jumpstart bull will further elevate the growth and carcass numbers on the BULL calf this heifer is carrying. The first calf could easily pay for this heifer!!
Bred to Bieber Jumpstart J137 (#4463653) on 4/19/23. Pasture exposed from 5/12/23 – 6/29/23 to C-T Markets Up 2119 (#4632081). Confirmed for a 1/19/24 calf.

Dark cherry red is how we like them, and this girl is fancy beautiful. Coming direct from MLK CRK Sheba 0113, she has the maternal ability to produce. She is feminine, wide topped & balanced with a stylish walk. This gal will be noticed in the field or the show ring. Bred to Bieber CL Energize F121 (#3958815) on 5/19/23. Here is a high-performance, high-capacity beauty queen that will knock your socks off. Excellent feet, fantastic disposition and structural superiority – she has the essence of an exceptional brood cow. Her sire, DKK Brute 931 needs no introduction as he is no stranger to the NILE and consistently produces the extra soggy ones. Marigold 2030’s highly productive, elegant dam posted a 115 MPPA on her very first try! As a first-calf heifer!!! Marigold 0127 is likely destined for Klompien’s donor pen, excellent feet and udder, great disposition, structural superiority and fantastic disposition. Marigold 2030 is GGP & parentage verified.
Bred to STRA RELENTLESS (#3955293) on 4/15/23. Confirmed for a 1/22/24 calf.
This long-bodied, clean and feminine fronted heifer hails from a long line of cows known for weaning heavy and bouncing right back into early calving dates. We expect this heifer to perform just as her dam and granddam have. Don’t miss out on this powerhouse female!
Bred to RF Clinger 2110 (#1587949) on 4/12/23. Confirmed for a 1/19/24 calf.
This heifer really exhibits so much of what we strive to produce at Lucht Red Angus. With a 12-year-old dam still in production and a sire from the Klompien’s embryo program, this heifer has some fully loaded genetics behind her. She is AI bred to Clinger 2110 from the Red Fork herd, a bull who spent the first 10 years of his life breeding cows in the high pastures of Kaycee, WY. Bred from longevity, bred to longevity, with a beautiful phenotype to boot. This is one of those girls that is hard to let go of!
Bred to RF Clinger 2110 (#1587949) on 4/12/23. Confirmed for a 1/19/24 calf.
Sallee 217 is a dark red, deep ribbed 5L Foreman 370E daughter that offers a balanced EPD profile. She descends from a cow line that is stacked with cow-making sires like, Shoco Data, Beckton Epic R397K, MLK CCR Express 9127, and 5L Secret Agent. Her dam has posted a 104 MPPA with a 360-day calving period on 8 natural calves. The Young 5L Foreman daughters are doing a nice job with raising their calves while exhibiting very nice udders and good feet. She is bred to calve March 20, with a calf sired by Mushrush Apollo J836, the high selling bull in the Mushrush 2023 bull sale. Bred to Mushrush Apollo J836 (#4587451) on 5/22/23. Pasture exposed from 5/24/23 – 7/4/23 to Mushrush Apollo J836 (#4587451). Confirmed for a 3/20/24 calf.
An impressive bred heifer out Ranchmaster and IL Banyan whom we acquired from the BAR H herd. If you are looking for a dependable calving ease female with a 15 CED and a -3.5 BW, then this is your heifer. Plus, she is near the top of the scale for milk production. Ranchmaster is a popular Wedel bull who has produced calves in all climates. Seventy percent of our 2022 calf crop were females and they were an incredible group which makes it possible for us to be able to part with bred females of this caliber.
Bred to NIO Reputaton 2014 (#4689611) on 4/14/23. Pasture exposed after 4/15/23 to DKK Grindstone 2044 (#4599037).
A daughter of Raisland 704-218 and Great Basin. Anybody familiar with the prestigious Raisland herd knows its roots came from the Cawfields from whom Karen is descended. On the dam side of this heifer, the Cawfield roots are immediate and go deep. As we put our herd together, we acquired several females from the Raislands and this heifer is a prime example of the return we got from that investment. Her sire is the venerable Great Basin who has been popular throughout the Pacific Northwest. He in turn was sired by Beckton Likeable. Bred to NIO Reputaton 2014 (#4689611) on 4/13/23. Pasture exposed after 4/15/23 to DKK Grindstone 2044 (#4599037).
Red Connie is a deep bodied, moderate framed female. She has been one of the kindest and easiest bred heifers to halter break. Connie is out of one of our best herd sires, Contour. He is known for his excellent carcass traits! He consistently passes that on to his offspring. All five of Contours steers graded prime at the Rosebud-Treasure County Fair this year. The only five to grade prime! He passed his carcass onto Connie as well. She is in the top 6% for Marbling. When she was ultrasounded this February, she scanned a 5.52 IMF, .32 BF, and a 10.71 REA. Combine that with her birth to growth spread Connie should produce a cattleman’s kind of bull out of Exceptional.
Bred to LSF SRR Exceptional 5464C (#1751111) on 5/9/23. Confirmed for a 2/15/24 bull calf.

3C Erica 3017 is a tick more moderate in her frame but has the shape and thickness to go with it. She is a phenotypically pleasing heifer that easily catches your eye. On paper she records a very balanced set of EPDs. Her dam is a very attractive young female who we expect to do great things at 3C Cattle. At 9 years of age, her granddam is still in the herd. Her sire, Bieber Energize, offers loads of body and dimension with a dynamic phenotype and impressive feet and overall structure. 3C Erica has a gentle demeanor and would be outstanding for a junior member. She would be a great asset to your herd!
This stylish DKK Brute 931 heifer calf is stretchy and well-built. She is a long, deep and thick-bodied heifer. She comes from a cow family that continues to produce top calves – both bulls and heifers. Her dam, Fayet 6034, is in her prime and has done very well establishing an MPPA of 102. We have used her sire, DKK Brute 931, in our AI program as well as in our embryo program. We are very impressed with his offspring. He has added style and thickness to Fayet 3044. She has lots of length and still shows off her feminine traits. We are exceited to offer her and look forward to seeing what she can do in the future. Our bet is that she will be a strong producer for years to come.
Here are two half-sisters being offered out of a complete outcross sire, KKC MASTERMIND 27D. To go along with this outcross sire, you’ll find on the bottom side of the pedigree, UBAR RED SEQUOIA 6072 to make it very unique. Her dam is a young daughter of Pelton Wideload 78B and has a balanced phenotype and perfect level udder with a 333-day calving interval and a 102 MPPA. Ruby is the epitome of fancy and feminine! She has a kind disposition and eye-catching structure with added capacity, solid feet and legs with a great hip and phenotype that reflects her sire’s influence. Don’t miss this opportunity to own a top-end female with this kind of maternal traits and udder quality that runs deep in her pedigree.

I couldn’t be more pleased with the overall quality of MASTERMIND’s first calf crop. Amber is a testament to MASTERMIND’s genetic potency. He is siring a very consistent pattern of depth, thickness and style with moderate birth weights along with great feet and leg structure. Just like her sire, Amber has a distinct style, elegance and quality about her. Her dam is one of my low-maintenance, easy fleshing, good uddered and sound, real “broody” Eastern MT cows that do it every year with a 368day calving interval. This stunning heifer’s great granddam is 13 years old and still in production. Amber has a lot of maternal, fleshing ability and longevity bred into her pedigree to carry on.
Moderate, cute and complete sums up Minervina 343L. This Stockman E116 daughter represents an old, long-time cow family that is backed by many generations of performance breeding. 343’s dam has been a work horse bringing in 6 progeny at a 105 wean ratio and an astounding 123 IMF ratio. She is by BHR King, a herd sire that left us with an impeccable set of daughters. The kind you could always count on for easy keeping, sound udders and above average production. Minervina 343 is sired by Stockman E116 and his daughters have really excelled in our herd plus in other herds across the country. You know they are consistently sound structured with great feet, legs and udders. We recommend that you put four stars in your catalog on this heifer and just get her bought on sale day. You won’t regret it!
This heifer completely lives up to both her sire’s name and cow family’s name. She is astonishing. We cannot believe the high performance of this heifer calf and out of a first-time mom to boot. The Peace cow family is one our oldest established lines that brings home a good one every year. She is deep dark red, very smooth, correct structured with extra frame and rib, expansive hip, great length of sides, that comes with solid feet and legs. This dark red beauty is a performance leader that commands your attention in the pen with her sheer size, easy fluid movement, and sweet disposition. Her maternal side carries some of the breed’s greatest proven sires such as Chateau and Mimi but offers a fresh, yet proven pedigree.
WOODHILL GAME DAY U6-Y98
CLARK MATTIE 1201-1401
This 2301 heifer is right from the top of our 2023 ET calves. 2301 is a daughter of the MR Coach 20003 bull that MR Angus (Wheatland, WY) raised and went on to produce many excellent cattle for them. Later purchased by Wheeler Mountain of Whitehall, MT, 20003 excelled in their herd as well. A black bull with a red gene, 20003 was identified in 2018 when a red son topped MR Angus’ sale to Crump Red Angus. The Coach cattle are real world type cattle with great feet and very positive carcass values. 2301’s mother needs no introduction. She is our 1401 donor cow that continues to do a great job for Clark Red Angus. 1401 has produced several herd bulls including Feddes CCC Beartooth, sold in 2017, and Feddes CCC Definitive who sold to ABS in 2020. 1401 is a female maker as well. She produced several outstanding females including the second high selling open heifer in the 2022 NILE Sale with a Resource 137E daughter. A full sister was a top seller in the 2022 Bet on Red Sale for Feddes Livestock. This 2301 heifer has loads of potential and will go on to do great things for the industry.
This 2302 heifer is standout female from the top of our ET program. 2302’s pedigree is proven and rock solid that has stood the test of time. On the ground, this heifer is powerful and really puts it all together from a phenotypic standpoint. The sire of this phenom is the PIE One of a Kind 510 bull, possibly one of the best 352 sons out there. 510 daughters have excelled in many herds, producing females that are fertile, milk well and structurally sound. The dam of 2302 is our R11 donor cow, purchased from Feddes Red Angus in the 2014 Big Sky Elite Female Sale. At nine years old R11, had already proven herself in the Feddes program producing many herd bulls, females and embryos. We bred and flushed her for another six years. Showing no sign of slowing down, at 15 years of age, she was still consistently producing 12-15 embryos for us. There is a lot of longevity and productivity bred into this 2302 heifer. If we didn’t have a few full sisters, we wouldn’t be letting her go.
Super functional early March female that comes in a feminine package with a deep rear muscle structure. She is stout, well-balanced, and maternally-made. This heifer is easy to handle and we’re sad to see her go. Her dam is sired by the HXC Conquest 4405P and consistently produces nice calves for us. 2240 is a worry-free heifer that will add style and femininity to your operation.
3313 the balance that we are trying to breed. Her dam is a top cow that we purchased from C-T Red Angus because of her impeccable udder, near perfect feet and her 107 MPPA. Her first son is working in the Cross Diamond herd in Nebraska and her second son sold to a very top commercial customer. She is on a very short list to get flushed next year. The maternal granddam, C-T VRDALE 5011 is a very top donor cow in the C-T herd. When you look at 3313 there is not much to dislike. She has nice extension in her front end with a beautiful shoulder. Her depth of rib will be hard to match and has great foot and leg structure. The udder quality in this cow family is second to none and this heifer will be one of those females that can be mated to almost any bull.

FEDDES BLOCKANA C31-E31
FEDDES BLOCKANA Y63-C31
The maternal granddam of this heifer, Feddes Blockana C31, is possibly one of the best cows we have ever produced. She has produced multiple top selling bulls and daughters that are donors in several herds across the country. Half of C31 recently sold to Niobrara Red Angus for $25,000. Her daughters have topped Reno at $30,000 and sold private treaty for $20,000 as a calf. She has a son at the very top of the bull calves again this year. Her embryos have topped sales all over. Feddes Blockana E31 is destined to follow in the footsteps of her mother and is already in our donor pen. 372 has the looks, style, presence, phenotype and numbers to end up in a donor pen as well. The Energize daughters have proven to be great females and backed by this incredible cow family, gives this heifer a leg up on the competition. We look forward to seeing what this heifer can do for her new owner.
HRR Lakota 632 comes from a long line of maternal excellence. In fact, 6 generations back her maternal lineage runs well over 100 on MPPA. The last 4 generations of her dams are or were in our flush program. Her Red Hill Julian 84S dam, HRR Lakota 699 is six for six for producing daughters in a timely fashion and is a right sized powerhouse with solid feet and udder conformation. 5l Body Builder 68D is adding base and rib to his offspring and will not disappoint in the udder department. If you seek power and consistency in your cowherd, check out 632 when she rolls into Billings.
I have really fallen in love with this gal. If you are a Junior looking for a show stopper, here she is. Looking to add her to your maternal line up? She’ll do that too. Princess is a deep ribbed, thick bodied, well-balanced heifer. I wish all of them were this easy to halter. Carrying genetics from DKK Sheba, 9 Mile Contender 8701, & John Wicks son Six Mile Private Stock, this heifer is the total package.
Elegant!! Who says you can’t put it all into one package? Exemplary type and kind matched with a pedigree that is second to none and a jaw-dropping set of numbers. This gal can truly go any direction. She is sleek fronted blooming into a soft made, high-capacity, structurally exquisite beauty queen. This girl simply floats when you put her on the move. A promising show prospect that even the most inexperienced could handle, and more importantly, a breeding piece extraordinaire. Maternally, DKK
Sheba 3016 is out of a first-calf heifer who is the result of Embryo Transplant, has excellent feet, udder and structural conformation and is a full sister to the dam of lot 43. Sheba 3016’s sire, STRA Relentless is a gem of a young bull from the up-and-coming Twedt Red Angus program. He is exceptionally deep ribbed and clean fronted with a shoulder designed for calving ease.
Extra Fancy! Several have commented that this is quite possibly the best Pie Captain 057 daughter out there. Deep cherry red, excellent feet, a strong muscle pattern, deep ribbed and elite style. Sheba 3035’s sire, PIE Captain 057 is one of the hottest bulls in the business, combining PIE Quarterback and 9 Mile Franchise 6305. Maternally, Sheba 3035 boasts a stylish first-calf mama who is a full ET sister to the dam of lot 42. I am not sure which of the two sisters is better. They are both very high quality. The great Sheba cow family consistently produces this kind – excellent dispositions, deep ribbed, structurally exquisite with good feet and exceptional udders. Klompiens secretly hoped that Mr. Jeff Thomas would not find this beauty, but he did so here she is.
Laubach Heiress 3018, a dark cherry red heifer comes straight from the core of our herd. The dam’s family line comes from a cow that Ken bought from McPhees, which goes back to Glacier Marias 548. She has been a great asset to our herd, with an MPPA score of 108. This calf’s sire is BB Propulsion 9096 and we are really impressed with his calves. She has 9 EPDs in the top 25% and some in the top 10%. This gentle female has great growth and stands on a good set of feet and legs.
Laubach Darling 3023 has everything going for her. She has a good set of numbers and will catch your eye for sure. This heifer’s sire is 3SCC Domain A163. We have used him for several years and continually enjoy watching his calves grow through the years. The dam goes back to our Fischer Oscar bull that produces outstanding females with a lot of natural maternal instinct. This gal is deep, thick, and long bodied. She would make a great replacement for anyone or an excellent show prospect with her gentle disposition – check her out!
“Stacy’s Mom has got it goin’ on.” She is bold, well-muscled, deep sided, strong topped, and carries it all with a commanding feminine flare. Stacy 301 is out of a low maintenance, first-calf heifer whose pedigree has 9 Mile influence maternally. Her sire is a Six Mile John Wick 882E son. It’s no surprise she rose to the top of the list of heifer consignments. Stacy 301 has already won a Reserve Grand Champion Red Angus placing against powerful competition of heifer mates and yearlings. Thus, she comes experienced in the show ring and handles well on halter. She is entered into both the NILE Red Angus Junior and Open Show. Don’t let this beauty get away! Take her home, start winning the banners and build a phenomenal cow herd. “She’s the one you’ve waited for so long.”
Tamera 3191 is the produce of two females we added to our herd, Mabee’s Tamera and VF MS Cheta Girl, both young cows that have a lot of future ahead of them. Cheta Girl’s first calf to hit the ground was Lost Creek Intensity, who was sold to Redland Red Angus. These are the first calves out of Intensity and we are pleased with what we are seeing. This Intensity heifer is feminine fronted, bold ribbed, deep sided and has a maternal set to her hip. Everything about this heifer says maternal ability. She is in the top 12% for HB and top 11% for HPG.
5L Foreman 2174-370E has produced a very attractive daughter in Lakota 317. She is dark red, moderate framed with plenty of capacity and thickness to balance her profile. Her dam is a Ridge Legend 2069 daughter that has earned a 101 MPPA with a 357-day calving interval while maintaining an easy fleshing look, and has a very nice udder and feet. The 2069 daughters in the herd are very consistent in type and kind and are easy to like.
It has been about 3 years since we were able to bring cattle to the NILE. Since COVID and some health issues, we’re excited to be back. Our heifer crop is extremely exciting this year. OWNG Lucinda 2309’s dam, Sherry 1327 is a granddaughter of N Bar Hamley 5913. Lucinda’s granddam has some of the greatest sires in the breed, with Pie Grid Master and Glacier Logan in her pedigree. Lucinda is ultra-feminine yet is extremely deep bodied. Her sire, Duff Red Blood 18114 is world known for his thickness and dark red color. Lucinda’s mother has been one of our top producers and at 10 years old maintains a balanced udder and a youthful appearance.
Briella 2311 is an own daughter of Duff Red Bear, a bull who has sired several class winners and champions. Briella will be in that class of females. Briella’s dam, Gabriella 1504 is a daughter of HXC Conquest 4405P. Her granddam on the sire side is a daughter of BFCK Cherokee CNYN 4912. Briella’s grandmother was 19 years old when we decided she had done enough for Owings Cattle. She never had her feet trimmed and had an udder of a two-year-old when she was 19. All while taking to AI for 17 years the first time. That’s longevity. Be sure to stop by and check out Briella 2311. She has a great look, shape and structure.
SUTH Dreamer 363L is a stylish, attractive female that demands your attention on the move. She is a clean fronted, well-balanced heifer that strides out with ease and confidence. She is the type to compete in the show and prove herself as a great cow. On paper she offers a balanced set of EPDs. Her dam is a very capacious, correctmade brood cow. On paper she records an outstanding 106 MPPA and has a BW Ratio of 3 @ 94 and Nursing ratio of 3 @ 108. Sired by the Six Mile Private Stock bull with an extremely impressive phenotype with tons of muscle shape and thickness. Dreamer 363L has the look, balanced EPDs and an exciting pedigree behind her, don’t miss out on the opportunity to own these genetics! Think smart and take this pair of powerful heifers home today!
SUTH Stormy 392L is a powerfully constructed heifer that impresses you from behind with her overall natural thickness and width. She offers a lot of muscle but in a phenotypically pleasing package. She will have the eye appeal and poise to compete in the show ring and should wean heavy calves at weaning time as she matures into a momma cow. She ranks in the top end of the breed for indexes, growth and carcass. Her dam records solid ratios of a NR of 4 @102 and YW Ratio of 3 @105. She has good feet and legs and will add longevity to the cow herd. Sired by the Six Mile Private Stock bull with an extremely impressive phenotype with tons of muscle shape and thickness. She is a very sound and complete heifer – you don’t want to miss this opportunity to take her home!
For 70 years, Stockman Bank has been serving Montana with the best in banking services, helping Montanans manage their money, achieve their financial goals, and realize their dreams. As the largest family-owned, privately held, community bank in Montana, we remain committed to traditional, western values and homegrown community service.
The Montana Red Angus Association (MTRAA) was officially organized on November 3, 1972. Several progressive breeders met at the Rainbow Hotel in Great Falls, MT. It was there that they elected officers and established bylaws. The first officers for the ensuing year were – President: Dave Cawlfield, Vice-President: Jim Leachman, Secretary/Treasurer: Pete Stoltz.
MTRAA has a total membership of over 65 members, which includes both registered and commercial breeders from across Montana and a few other states. Annual dues are $50 and payable by January 1st of the current year. Dues are to be sent to the Secretary/Treasurer. An annual meeting is held each October, in conjunction with the NILE. MTRAA happenings and membership listings can be found on our website at www.montanaredangus.org. We can also be found on Facebook.
Montana ranks as the largest register of Red Angus cattle in the Red Angus Association of America, with over 8,953 head registered this last year. Approximately 3,072 head of females and 2,219 head of bulls were transferred to other breeders this last year. Montana is ranked ninth for regular memberships with 133 Montana members in the national organization. We also have 44 Montana Junior members within the RAAA.
MTRAA has always been progressive and leads the way in many programs. They are proud sponsors of the NILE Prestigious Red Angus Sale, which started in 1982. The sale is held in conjunction with the NILE annually in
October. This was the first sale to promote Red Angus cattle being sold by areas breeders. MTRAA is a proud sponsor of youth and established the County Buckle Program in 2000. This program honors all county fair champions that show cattle with Red Angus genetics. These champions are awarded a belt buckle for their achievements prior to the NILE sale. A female futurity was established in 2009. Current NILE sale animals and progeny of past sale animals are eligible to participate. This was established to showcase that the animals purchased at the NILE Sale work in the “real world.” The futurity is held annually in October at the NILE in Billings, MT. We also sponsor the Montana Stock Grower’s Association Cattleman’s College each year in Billings, MT.
In 1977, the first “Feeder Calf” sales were held in Billings and Butte. These sales have expanded to Three Forks, Miles City and Glasgow. October has been dubbed “Red October” as thousands of cattle are sold in these sales.
A Montana Tour is held in the fall on a rotation system that enables attendees to view cattle from both registered and commercial breeders across the state. The state is divided into seven regions, with the breeders in the area hosting the event. We invite you to join us for this annual event of extraordinary camaraderie, plenty of food, gracious hosts, good cattle and fun.
