In September 2016, Pembroke Public Schools launched a communications initiative to engage members of the community and tell the district’s story. As more and more people use social media as a means of news and communication, it was important to the district to enhance our communication with the addition of these platforms. As part of this initiative, school Facebook pages were created and managed by key members of the school’s office, school administrators became active Twitter users and all of these platforms were embedded into our website and district app.

Our goal with adding social media to our communications platform, was to share what our educators are doing inside the classroom, tell the positive stories happening every day as well as give important announcements to our families and the community on a timely and consistent basis. Social media is another way for us to share our message, engaging with our school community more than ever before. In addition to social media, we have also launched an online and print district magazine which is published four times a year. Titan Times Magazine tells our story, the story of excellence in education. This magazine highlights all of the amazing things happening in our district in both a digital and printed format. We are always looking for new story ideas so please share them with us! We also launched our Let’s Talk feedback feature. This platform provides a place for the community to share feedback, ask questions and have their voices heard about the topics that matter to them. The feedback we have been receiving has been positive. Parents and community members are engaging on our social media pages with comments on our posts sharing our story and showing their support. The new district and school websites have been redesigned with responsive templates, giving our community easy access from their smartphones and tablets. As we continue to share our story we will also monitor engagement and seek feedback as we continue to enhance our communications platforms.
