Thai Charity Dinner for Thai flood victims
Saturday 12th November 2011 Time: 19.00 -22.00 At Lanna Thai Restaurant All proceeds will go to The Chaipattana Foundation of His Majesty the King through the Thai Permanent Mission in Geneva
Background and rationale The flood situation in Thailand remains critical. Since July this year, floods have inundated 62 out of 77 provinces and are now threatening many parts of Bangkok. To date, they have caused 366 deaths, 3 millions houses are damaged and 10 million people are displaced. The economic losses are unimaginable as several industry estates were damaged and roads and infrastructure destroyed. About 30 provinces are still inundated and the floods continue to increase, causing long term damage. In times like this it is very critical for all Thai people to support those who are affected. The Thai community in Switzerland is united in efforts to organize a Thai Charity Dinner to raise funds to help alleviate their precarious situation.
