Since summer 2012 How long have you been managing a team? This is my fourth season. What do you like most about managing a team? The satisfaction that the children are getting fresh air and exercise at the same time as enjoying themselves and making lots of friends. What do you find challenging when managing a team? Keeping the players focused Describe your team: Enthusiastic, keen and eager, future shining stars! What are you focusing on in training? Positioning and using the pitch Tell us the best game to date and why: 12/09/2015 against Bridge Hawks, each player played their socks off, with each player totally enjoying their part in the game and parents from both sides cheering. What advice/tips would you give to young, up and coming footballers? Stay focused, keep Positive, enjoy each game and remember winning is not everything but it is sweeter than losing.

Make every effort to improve skill, technique and stamina Avoid violence/rough play and help injured opponents Show respect towards match officials Show respect towards coaches and team mates regardless of age, disability, sex, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, race, religion or belief Encourage team mates especially when they have made a mistake Not use inappropriate language or behaviour Set a positive example for others, particularly younger players Attend at least 80% of the training sessions (exceptions granted for injuries) Attend at least 80% of competitive fixtures (exceptions granted for injuries)

Parents/Guardians/Spectators should:  

       

Ensure children have appropriate equipment – Drinks, boots, shin pads and warm/waterproof clothing in cold/wet weather and sun screen plus additional drinks in hot weather Ensure that children have a nominated adult to accompany them to training, matches, tournaments and presentations. The club or its managers/coaches are not responsible for the children. If you are not attending one of the above, then you must find an alternative adult to be their guardian Ensure children behave responsibly at all Pennine Juniors events Applaud the opposition as well as your own team Avoid coaching the children during the game Refrain from shouting/screaming at the children Respect the referees/assistants decisions Give encouragement to all children, not just your own Ensure that children complete the full season once committing to a team and accept that refunds will not be possible under any circumstances Ensure that all litter is collected from the side of the football pitch and acknowledge that smoking during a game is strictly prohibited

Coaches should:      

Match reports Next Match: Opponent: Bridge Falcons Date: 30/09/15 Venue: Home – Matthew Moss

Latest Match report: Opponent: Prestwich Marauders Date: 23/09/15 Venue: Away – St Mary’s Park Result: Won 10 v 5 Match report: Excellent opening play by sees Brieley open the scoring in 57 seconds. As Prestwich kick off Brieley intercepts the pass and scores Pennines 2nd goal in 1 minute 56 seconds. Prestwich take kick off and take the ball towards Pennine defence who stay solid and clear the ball. The 19 minute after some great play, Brieley scores his hat-trick. 21st minute see Andrew score, Pennine are looking really good as Prestwich heads drop. Taylor scores in the 23rd minute followed 2 minutes later by Charlie. Pennine defence carry on with positive attitude and keep a great back line catching Prestwich offside on so many occasions. What a great half 6 – 0 lead to Pennine at half time. Prestwich Kick off put Pennine under pressure and score a good goal. As Pennine kick off you can see them fired up as a great goal is scored by Evans in the 35 minute. Prestwich put the pressure on and score a three quick goals due to Pennine defence wanting to get in on the score sheet, score 7 – 3. Brieley takes the ball down the wing past three players then goes back the other way before taking a shot and scoring his 4th goal of the match in the 46th Minute. Leo scores in 47th minute, Pennine keep the pressure on and as the ball rebounds out Brieley charges forward and scores in the 49th minute. Charley takes a shot Page | 5


from a good way out, what a shot as it bounces of the crossbar. As the final whistle goes Pennine leave the pitch heads held high and each player buzzing with the result Pennine 10 – 5 Prestwich. Player of Match: Charlie. Most Improved Player: Brieley.

Match report: Opponent: Walshaw Park Wolves Date: 19/09/15 Venue: Home – Matthew Moss Result: Won 3 v 2 Match report: Good opening play by Pennine with good saves by Nicholas. The opening goal fell to Walshaw with a good attempt by Brierley and good pressure by Pennine on Walshaw. The first half finished with the score line 0 - 1 to Walshaw. The second half saw Brierley score to equalise and an offside goal to Pennine disallowed Good play by Pennine saw Leo make a good run down the field and score to make it two goals for Pennine Brierley scored a further goal to make it three after some good passing by Pennine. Walshaw managed a further goal before the end. Good defending by Pennine throughout, just need to keep moving

Opponent: Bridge Hawks Date: 12/09/15 Venue: Away - Bridge FC Result: Won 8 v 6 Match report: The game started with an opening goal to Bridge, followed by a couple of good attempts and a corner to Pennine. A good kick across from Leo saw Adam equalise to 1 -1 A corner from Pennine saw Andrew score to make it two goals to Pennine. Pennine on a roll and saw two further goals by Andrew to make it 1 - 4 to Pennine A further Pennine goal from Sam made it 5 and then a further 20 yard goal by Adam to make it 6 finishing off the first half with a further goal by Leo making the score line 1 - 7 going into half time. The play in the first half was fast and positive The second half opened with a penalty to Bridge making it 2 - 7 followed by two more straight through goals by Bridge making it 4 – 7. Taylor managed to pull a further goal making it 4 - 8, soon followed by two further goals by Bridge to bring it up to 6-8. The Game turned out to be one of two halves and a nervous last few minutes. Opponent: Elton & Walshaw Meercats Date: 05/09/15 Venue: Home – Matthew Moss Result: Lost 3 v 5 Match report: The opening play was good with a good shot by Brierley going wide. Elton hit the post, followed by a second near attempt by Brierley. Elton opens the scoring to take an early lead. Taylor equalised the score for Pennine, only to see Elton score their second goal of the game. End to end play is seen before Elton score a further two more goals to take stretch the lead. Adam finds the back of the net on his second attempt at goal, just before the half time whistle. Half time score of 2 – 4. The second half saw Pennine defence step up play on the offside ruling and caught Elton out several times with a great defensive line by Charlie, Nick and Ben. A good run up the field by Brierley, saw three attempts on goal but no luck converting. The play then quickly makes it way to the Pennine goal where Elton Page | 6


have three quick attempts on goal all saved by Lewis, before Elton squeeze the ball through to score their fifth goal of the match. Pennine managed to gain a further goal by Brieley, with four near chances for Pennine given away in the game leaving a 3 - 5 win to Elton.
