LET’S GO TO THE FAIR! Fall is a beautiful time to get out and explore our West Kootenay towns and valleys. The air is cool and fresh and the colours are stunning. And it’s harvest time, so there is a fall fair to visit every weekend. Enjoy the bounty – we have so much to be thankful for!

Creston Valley Fall Fair

Rossland Fall Fair

Friday, Sept 6 2 – 9pm Saturday, Sept 7 9am – 5pm Creston District Community Complex

Saturday, Sept 7, 11am – 5pm Rossland Arena, 3rd Ave & Spokane St

www.crestonvalleyfair.com $5 adults, $3 seniors/children, 5 and under free. An old fashioned agricultural fair with a tradition spanning over a century! Live local entertainment 2-9pm Friday & 10am-5pm on Saturday. The Welcoming & O Canada is at 6:30pm Friday evening, the awards ceremony at 4:30pm on Saturday. Friday & Saturday: milking demonstrations, 4-H showmanship classes, auction, antique tractor display – be sure to vote for the People’s Choice award. Saturday morning: Farmer’s Market and Lions Club pancake breakfast. Creative Monkeys offer impromptu shows throughout the fair as well as a stage show on Saturday afternoon at 2pm. Children’s pedal tractor pull happens Saturday afternoon as well.

www.rosslandfallfair.ca The Rossland Fall Fair on Saturday is an integral part of the weekend-long Golden City Days celebrations. The Fair features craft and market vendors, a petting zoo, fish pond, and live music and entertainment. Come and enjoy Rossland’s incomparable mountain culture and join in for this last hurrah of summer. grandforksfallfair.com The Grand Forks & District Fall Fair Society are pleased to present this year’s fair in this, the 109th year since the Fair began in Grand Forks! This traditional event features, agriculture exhibits, historical displays and informational booths set up throughout the grounds. Lots of free children’s entertainment and great local music are just some of the exciting activities scheduled for the weekend. Farm animals to meet. Our third year presenting the Grand Forks Fall Fair Demolition Derby.

Come with friends and travel together. The car-pooling incentive is free festival passes. The first 3 adults in the vehicle will pay and the rest get in free. So if you’ve got an 8 passenger van, fill it up! The more people who travel together, the smaller our festival “footprint” will be. The sheer size of this fair is almost overwhelming. No dogs please.

Harrop Harvest Festival Sunday, Sept 15, 10am – 4pm Harrop Hall, 6066 McConnell Road Free admission This annual event offers vendors, great food, music, and children’s events. The relaxed, pleasant atmosphere encourages you to browse at leisure. Stay for lunch and listen to local musicians performing throughout the afternoon. There are also prizes to be won through various draws, so plan to come for the day and enjoy the great ambiance and lots of local produce and crafts.

The Argenta Fair is more than worth the beautiful drive up to the top of Kootenay Lake. You’ll find a heart-warming, down to earth and fun environment to celebrate the turning of the seasons at the equinox. Vendors with produce, food, crafts and unique treasures. Talented local musicians play all day. Face painting, sports activities, preserves/ produce contest. The festivities will carry into the night, with a SQUARE DANCE 7-9pm and DJ dance party after that (suggested donation $10/person). This is a day our special community comes out of the woods into vibrant festivity – come join us! Family friendly, no dogs or alcohol please. Vendors welcome. Salmo Valley Fall Festival Saturday, Sept 28, 10am – 3pm Salmo Youth & Community Centre Admission is by donation!

Activities throughout the day will include a large sized cardboard box fort building, a local history talk and the Maker Mobile will be onsite. Lardeau Valley Harvest Festival Saturday, Oct 5, 11am – 4pm Lardeau Valley Community Centre The Lardeau Valley Community Centre is actually in Meadow Creek, about 35 minutes’ drive north of Kaslo. The valley harvest festival is a great family event. There will be a bouncy castle for the kids, face painting for the whole family, a cash-only BBQ lunch, and live music. Traditions celebrated at the fair include the art and skills of the farmer and small homesteader. There will be lots of vendors, some displaying wares you won’t see anywhere else. Bring your pocketbook and shop early for Christmas! Check out the produce, preserves, and home baking competitions. (Bring your entries in by 12:30pm on fair day.) Happy Harvest!
