It will provide enough energy to power about 60,000 homes per year and will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 400,000 tonnes, the equivalent of taking 78,000 cars off the road.

Hired Equipment Registration West Kootenay District The West Kootenay District of the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure is now completing Hired Equipment lists for the upcoming fiscal year. All individuals or companies who are currently registered through the ministry’s offices in Nelson or Grand Forks will be mailed invitations by the end of January to re-register their equipment for the coming fiscal year. Individuals or companies who were not registered in 2014, but who wish to have their equipment listed, are invited to visit or phone the Nelson or Grand Forks office to obtain the appropriate registration forms. You will be required to have Commercial (Comprehensive) General Liability Insurance with minimum $2 million third party liability and a WorkSafe BC clearance letter prior to starting work on any ministry projects. Dump trucks must provide a current weigh slip, front tire size, and manufacturer’s front axle rating. Equipment can only be registered in one area in any given year and must be owned or leased-to-own in order to be eligible for registration. Seniority is not transferable from area to area. The deadline for new registrations for the 2015/2016 fiscal year is March 20, 2015. Late registrations will be accepted, but may appear at the bottom of the open list. Note that there is no charge for registering new equipment or for changing or deleting equipment information already listed. The Program is located at Trafalgar Middle School for grades 6-8, and continues for grades 9-12 at LV Rogers Secondary School.

Doug was the youngest of seven children born to Donald and Molly Sutherland: Leona (Dick) Pedosuk, Joy (Bill) Fox, Darlene Wiebe, David Gavrilik, Teddy (Shelly) Sutherland, and Donna (Bob) Stratton.

Doug was living in Winlaw BC when he met Laura Lee Haviland. They were married April 3, 1976 and moved to Meadow Creek BC to raise their family of six amazing daughters. Leanne (Joe) Dufour, Lisa (Greg) Stooshnoff, Leah (Chris) Swales, Lynn (Huw) Davies, Elisha (Chris) Adams and Erin (Kyle) Nelson. Doug’s goal in life was to create memories with his girls so even after we were gone they could reminisce with their families and pass on family

Throughout this last journey of our lives together, Doug never felt sorry for himself or even asked “Why me?” In fact Doug often said “Don’t be sad, I’ve had a good life”. He was always more worried that his family and friends were okay. We lived by our mottos “One day at a time, one foot in front of the other.” “Live each day to the fullest because you never know” but most of all “Have Faith”. Doug continued to inspire people right to the end, showing his strength, positivity, love of life and family, and his daily smile always lit up the room.
