MY TRUTH
by Cheryl Smith, Publisher
Are you for real? Is work ethic something you can buy or teach? During my tenure as a professor, students at Paul Quinn College heard a lot about work ethic. I talked to them about being the best they could be whether anyone was looking or not. I also said that once they entered the workforce, they would not be working for their parents, so they did not need to act like children. In a nutshell, when you are at work, don’t be like children and play when their parents are away, or not looking. Instead, let your behavior be above reproach, no matter the audience or lack thereof. Too often, I told them, you could tell when the “boss was not in the office, by the way the members on his team acted--it took longer for the phone to be answered. People took longer lunch hours and the atmosphere was much more relaxed and less productive. I, on the other hand, work harder when my boss/supervisor is not in the office. Which brings me to my truth. See TRUTH, page 4

Punishing the Poor
There are approximately forty million Americans that live below the federal poverty line in the midst of a robust national economy in which the gross domestic product is nearly $20 trillion, the highest per capita of any nation in the world. Yet in the midst of economic plentitude, the financially fragile, and their children, continue to suffer and are being left behind, according to a recent report by the United States Census Bureau and by those of us who have helped to shape programs designed to give the poor assistance and free them from poverty. To make matters worse, many of the measures that the federal government is implementing seem designed to keep our fellow citizens poor, rather than encouraging them and their families to reach for the American dream. Instead, they are being offered an American nightmare. This is appalling and unacceptable, and must be reversed. According to national data, the income for the average American household increased nearly two percent in 2017, while the nation’s poverty rate was 12.3 percent. The previous year it was 12.7 percent, according to the census report. The poor are being battered while the Trump administration has attempted to curtail subsidized housing programs available to the poor, food stamp assistance for the needy, and impose stringent work requirements on people seeking decent housing. Additionally, the administration continues to herald the massive tax cuts that the president signed into law, giving massive tax cuts to the wealthy, and to corporations. It is almost as if people are being punished for being in poverty while an administration in power acts as if the ‘War on Poverty,’ has been won, when any fair-minded and prudent analysis concludes that the battle is far from over. Clinton Taulbert’s memoirs spawned a book and a successful film adaptation entitled; “Once Upon a Time When We Were Colored.â€? I like catchphrases and this one fit my diatribe on parenting. Coloreds were seen as model parents at one time. These days‌not so much. If you take a panoramic view of us today and juxtapose it to our past; something is missing. In fact, let’s change it up. How about, “Once Upon a Time When We Were Wealthy?â€? We ain’t been Colored in a while and I don’t want to create nostalgia or confusion for Trump’s voters. We always been broke or near unto, but now we suffer with spiritual poverty. We need to adopt some old- time wisdom as a weapon for this tech-savvy warfare. Grandma didn’t

As an employee, you have to be the person you want to have working for you when you become an employer. Are you a different employee when you are being watched? Do you want to be trusted but your actions are not trustworthy when backs are turned? Oftentimes the most impactful lessons are learned during your childhood. Although my parent would drill topics and lessons into my head, there were times when the best teachers were those in the street committee. While I loved school, from my very first days, there were lessons that I learned that also made a perfect attendance seem necessary. I think when I was attending gram-

Once Upon A Time‌ understand the “new math,â€? but she knew some of this stuff wasn’t adding up. Growing up on the “wrong side of the tracksâ€? wasn’t all bad. We had neither money nor fame, but we had pride, self-respect, and most importantly, respect for the rights of others. You know: real class! Emily Post didn’t live in my hood, but some of the maids and drivers in my community gleaned enough protocol from church and wealthy well-meaning White folks to teach etiquette for a semester. Trends never mattered as much as the tailored fit. Class has irrevocable standards. There were “packageâ€? stores, but smelly winos and sneaky winebibbers from the church, hid their booze in brown paper bags or in their back pockets. If you were smoking a Kool, you knew to avoid the church property. There was nothing more sovereign or sacred than Holy Ground. Even the “Shepherds of Satanâ€? in our community knew to bow in obeisance. When we were wealthy, our glory wasn’t found in four bags of bought hair or the latest Jordans. Rolling onâ€?26esâ€? would get you noticed, but
it wasn’t a sign of status or substance. Brothers needed more than a car and clothes to get a girl; you had to beg sufficiently and then be suitable enough to meet the family. How can we regain the inheritance we assimilated our way out of? Start with our kids. Set a time for your child to put the phone down. Then be prepared to have a conversation rather than a monologue. If you could beat some sense into children, our community would be overrepresented with Ph.D.’s. Parenting ain’t about demands, it’s about demonstration. Parenting is a lifelong dialogue. Secondly, you must be emotionally acquainted enough with your child to immerse yourself into their lives. One child at a time: they are all yours, but they’re all different. Turn Frankie Beverly off and listen to Cardi B for a change. Yo’ mama listened to “Flashlight and “Every Little Step I Take and got her groove back. You can’t honestly critique what you don’t know. And here’s another novel idea; take your children to church. Statistically
93% of Black folks believe in God, so this ain’t for that other 7%. But the rest of y’all can testify that if the “Lawd hadn’t protected you, you would be strung out, locked up or long since dead. God and spirituality are the only non-taxable and irrevocable legacies that every parent can bequeath. You know that there are 66 books in the Bible and can recite John 11:35 because you went to Sunday School. Them Easter plays gave you a start at public speaking. You know the second verse of Amazing Grace because they sang it every First Sunday. But most of all, the church has been the only refuge and therapy we’ve ever had. If you woke up this morning “in your right mind, it’s because you practice what’s been preached to you. Once upon a time when we were wealthy, we didn’t have Donald Trump and all these other issues to deal with. In the words of some of my country and western friends: “Dance with the one that brung ya. See ya Sunday!
mar school at Newark’s Chancellor Avenue School in New Jersey, I really realized that I needed to be in school every day. Two things happened. In 4th grade, I was chosen to play Queen Isabella in the school play. For some reason, I had to stay out of school two days and when I returned, my part had been given to my neighbor down the street, Renee Barron. There went my big break! Then too, at that same school, it appeared that if you missed school, you became the subject of MESS. That’s right. We didn’t have enough extracurricular activities at school, so someone had to be talked about. I didn’t want that someone to be me. I would beg my mother to not let me miss school. I would hear her on the phone, “Yeah that Cheryl loves her some school!
So happily I would go off to school, but I also started working on my behavior, as I got older. I didn’t want to be included in the mess and I didn’t want to fight. Well, if you messed with my brother, much to his chagrin, I was jumping in. Later when we moved to another school, as encouragement to keep from having to prove myself, I let it be known that I was ready to throw down. Nope, I wasn’t knocking the chip off your shoulder to start the fight. Instead, I would just start swinging away and never relinquishing that position of power. It was known that Cheryl was not gossiping nor was she going to take any mess. Looking back I have to laugh because someone was always caught up in some “he say. She sayâ€? mess. If you came up in my face, talking about, “Did you say‌,â€? usually my an-
swer was “No! But I couldn’t leave it there, I had to put an end to the drama because I wanted people to know that I wasn’t the person to approach like that. So, I would ask in return, “What if I did say it, what you gonna do? That question usually was answered with an explanation that everything was cool. It was cool and they never came in my face again. I also learned it was important for people to know who you are so that it wasn’t as easy to spread lies about you. When you are at work, is it easy for you to be called on the carpet because, you are messy, gossipy, always in something? Or does your work speak for you? What is your reputation? Even your worse adversary or the co-worker you don’t like, can’t help but respect your game if it is good. How good is your game?

TWO PERSPECTIVES
Statement from Dallas County District Attorney Faith Johnson As the top law enforcement officer in Dallas County, I am committed to aggressively pursuing and investigating the shooting death of 26-year-old Botham Shem Jean. As the prosecuting agency, I cannot provide specific details regarding this incident, as it is an open investigation and I will not compromise the integrity of the case. I can, however, share the following facts and process with you. The Dallas Police Department conducted the initial investigation. The District Attorney’s Public Integrity Division Response team was deployed the night of the shooting and immediately began its own independent investigation. The Dallas Police Department requested the Texas Rangers take over the investigation. In most cases, the police department conducts the investigation and they issue the arrest warrant. In this case, the Texas Rangers, acting as the law enforcement agency, conducted the investigation and issued the arrest warrant for manslaughter for Amber Guyger. Once an arrest warrant is issued, an individual can be arrested or any citizen can turn themselves in to any law enforcement agency. In this case, The Texas Rangers were aware that Amber Guyger turned herself in to the Kaufman County jail.
Let me be clear, this does not change the fact that this case will be prosecuted by the Dallas County District Attorney. The DA is now taking the
any case to the public could be very detrimental. Releasing facts of a case to the public before a trial is conducted could cause evidence to be thrown out, bias the potential jury pool, eliminate potential jurors from participating in the trial and possibly force the court to transfer the case to another county. I want to ensure that this case remains in Dallas County and that the citizens of Dallas County ensure that JUSTICE is done. Additionally, I want to categorically refute the allegations that we released the search warrant return for Botham’s apartment. This is absolutely untrue. Our office had nothing to do with the release of that document to the media. As your DA, I have required all 300+ prosecutors to fairly review and prosecute despite race, education or even profession. I assure you, my primary goal is, and has always been, seeking justice for all. I understand there remain many unanswered questions. However, I urge you to allow my staff and me to properly and thoroughly investigate this case. Until then, please continue to keep the Jean family in your prayers, for at the center of this, is a deeply hurt family who lost a remarkable soul.
Additionally, I want to categorically refute the allegations that we released the search warrant return for Botham’s apartment. This is absolutely untrue. Our office had nothing to do with the release of that document to the media. lead on this case. The completion of a criminal investigation entails significant time to interview witnesses, secure lab results, analyze technical data and review other evidence that is critical to the prosecution of the case. I am simply asking you to be patient as we gather this information. Furthermore, releasing details of

John Creuzot’s Statement on the Death of Botham Jean Once again, we are experiencing the pain, sorrow and anger caused by the death of another black male at the hands of a police officer. We ask with dismay, how can it be that an officer meant to serve and protect instead shoots and kills an innocent person like Botham Jean? Our hearts and prayers go out to his family, and we demand a speedy, transparent, and just conclusion to this tragedy. This case is unusual for many reasons. There was no “street encounter” between Officer Amber Guyger and Jean. Apparently they did not know each other. Officer Guyger claims to have entered Jean’s apartment believing it to be her own, and believing Jean to be an intruder. We will, of course, learn much more about the facts of this encounter as the evidence is revealed. Law enforcement is saying they will charge Officer Guyger with manslaughter. Why not murder? What is the difference between the two offenses? As defined by Texas law, murder is committed when a person intentionally or knowingly causes the death of an individual or intends to cause serious bodily injury and commits an act clearly dangerous to human life that causes the death of an individual. The range of punishment for murder is confinement in the Texas De-
partment of Criminal Justice for life or any term of years not more than 99 years or less than five years. An optional fine not to exceed $10,000.00
sciously disregards a substantial and unjustifiable risk that the result, in this case death, will occur. The risk must be of such a nature and degree that its disregard constitutes a gross deviation from the standard of care that an ordinary person would exercise under all the circumstances as viewed from the actor’s standpoint. The range of punishment for manslaughter is imprisonment in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for any term of not more than 20 years or less than two years. An optional fine not to exceed $10,000.00 may be assessed. From 1991 to 2012, I was one of your state district judges, and I have practiced as a prosecutor and as a defense lawyer handling hundreds of cases. I am not aware of a case in which a person shoots another person in the torso, with death as the result, and is charged with manslaughter. In Dallas County, the longstanding practice of our law enforcement agencies, in similar cases, has been to charge suspects with murder by either intentionally and knowingly causing the death of an individual or by intending to cause serious bodily injury and committing an act clearly dangerous to human life that causes the death of an individual. This deviation from the norm begs many questions. Are there facts in this case
Another question left unanswered is whether Officer Guyger, based on the facts and standard protocol, is being charged with an offense a level below what you or I would be charged with under similar circumstances. may be assessed. As defined by Texas law, manslaughter is committed if a person recklessly causes the death of an individual. Texas law further states, when the offense is assaultive in nature, such as shooting an individual, that a person acts recklessly, with respect to the result of his conduct when he is aware of but con-

that warrant a departure from standard practice? Is the fact that Guyger is a police officer the reason to bring a charge of manslaughter instead of murder? Jean’s family and this community deserve a transparent and rational explanation for the departure from standard charging protocols. Can we expect Officer Guyger’s attorneys to raise well-recognized defenses? Yes. Expect the defense to raise the issue of “mistake of fact.” In Texas law, “mistake of fact” is defined as follows: it is a defense to prosecution that the actor through mistake formed a reasonable belief about a matter of fact if this mistaken belief negated the kind of culpability required for commission of the offense. How might “mistake of fact” apply to this case? Entering an apartment that you thought was yours. In other words, Officer Guyger’s defense could argue that she was not a trespasser or a burglar or someone intending to commit a criminal act, but rather someone who mistakenly entered the wrong apartment. Additionally, if Officer Guyger’s attorneys argue “mistake of fact” they will likely also argue that she had reason to defend herself. It will be incumbent on the prosecution to show that she did not have justification such as the use of deadly force for self-defense, or deadly force to prevent the other’s imminent commission of arson, burglary, robbery, aggravated robbery, or theft during the nighttime or criminal mischief during the nighttime. Based on what little information we have so far, this is the best explanation of the law that I can provide for the community. Left unanswered is why Officer Guyger’s arrest and charging were delayed. Was this delay in part due to the fact that she is a police officer? I suspect so. Another question left unanswered is whether Officer Guyger, based on the facts and standard protocol, is being charged with an offense a level below what you or I would be charged with under similar circumstances. Certainly it appears she is benefitting from leniency. As I said, the family of Botham Jean and the community are owed a transparent and rational explanation for how this tragic situation has been handled to date. Let us hope we get that. I hope I can explain this right, because I really need your help. I don’t want to go to family with this, not yet. About a year and a half ago I went back to my 30th year high school reunion and had a really great time. I’ve been divorced for over eight years, so it was good to see so many old girlfriends. I hadn’t been back to my hometown for a really long time. I’ve had short visits every once in a while since joining the Army after graduation. Shortly after my visit, my homie called to tell me Sharon (not her real name) wanted to talk to me about my son. Sharon is one of my old girlfriends. I was like, what! I NEVER knew she was pregnant and I certainly didn’t know we had a son. I was shocked by what he said and didn’t follow through. I thought, if it was true, she should contact me directly and handle her business a little better than that. Fast forward two months ago I read on Facebook, Sharon had died. I don’t know what to do. Should I reach out to her son? He has to be at least 30 years old by now. How do I approach a grown man
www.texasmetronews.com
Ask Alma by Alma Gill about being his father all these years later? Maybe I should just leave it alone, but it bothers me more and more every day. I’ll be honest, I’m angry and pissed! What is your advice? Signed, Father Maybe Dear Maybe, Wow, I can’t imagine the shock, surprise, resentment and disbelief. Clearly, you’re wrestling over this 30 year bombshell , blast from your past news that has bruised. Talk about a knock out — I feel you, son. Hopefully, my ability to sympathize and connect will break the ice and allow us to have a mini, meaningful, mature conversation. This is enormous, and yes, yes, you have every right to be outraged. My advice is first, do what you do to relieve stress, then, get to crackin’ and clean up this mess. The pain of a child overrides the pain of a parent. He’s grown, but you’re “growner” (my word, you know what I’m sayin’). As the parent, you must make this right. Is it too late for you to recon-
cile? No with a capital NO! Don’t you dare take your mind down that road of disillusionment. That’s a cop out. Ummhm, the same clumsy, selfish, inconsiderate decision his mother made years ago. The reality is you owe it to your son to “man up and own your circumstances.” It’s time to acknowledge him and correct it. Mama tried, whatever, better late than never. We’ll never know her reasons why. Today belongs to you, make it right, make him whole, cause that’s what fathers do. If you aren’t looking to get or gain anything from your son, I’d say by all means, take the first step. Approach him unconditionally with an open heart. Be frank, he can handle it. He’ll make the next move, respect it. If it’s a positive reaction, what a blessing. If it’s a negative, he has reasons, thirty of ‘em. So keep at it, don’t give up on him. Never, ever speak ill of his mother under any circumstances. Accept the empathy that’s overwhelming you and respond to it, don’t ignore it. Sharon’s watching down from heaven, praying you’ll do the right thing and so am I. Alma

O’Rourke answered questions on a range of topics including voting rights, civil rights, gun violence, healthcare, economic inequity and criminal justice reforms. Fahrenheit 11/9 Filmmaker Roger Moore has made a series of comedic documentaries over the years that have had one thing in common: they were all super critical of the far right wing of the Republican Party. However, in Fahrenheit 11/9 (the day Trump won the presidential election), Moore goes in on both sides of the political aisle and shows how money and corruption are running the U.S. political process. Some of the movie is funny, some parts are sad and some parts are hopeful as he shows some great examples of how things can be changed for the better from the grassroots level. His plan in the movie seems to be let's just blow things up and start all over again. His point in the film is that we cre-
ated Donald Trump by alienating the minority voter with corrupt politics and by rallying "Joe Q Redneck" with his message of hate aimed at nonwhites, Muslims and immigrants. Moore also shows some eerily similar footage of Hitler exposing a very similar message. The film shows Trump as a corrupt, misogynistic, egomaniac who is just plain mean. Moore relates a story where a reporter asks him if he ever gets tired of being "the eye of the storm?" Trump's overinflated ego answers, "I am the storm." Of course, Moore spends some time in his hometown of Flint, MI where he reports on the tainted water that is killing the children of Flint. He places the blame on Michigan Gover-

nor Rick Snyder. Snyder built a pipeline, making huge sums of money for its investors, and piping in polluted water as the city's water supply. Of course, when the water starts to ruin the finish on the cars of the remaining GM plant in Flint, he switches back to the old source of water, but only for the car plant and not the people. A really heartbreaking moment in the movie is when President Obama comes to town and, obviously in a staged bit, coughs and asks for a glass of water. You can hear the audience noticeable groan as Obama takes a sip of the polluted water (looking up close Moore shows that Obama only touches his lips with the tainted water). Interviewing the parents who attended, you can see and hear how
disappointed they are with Obama. They were expecting help from their president and felt betrayed that instead, he vouched for the other side. The movie also mentions that Obama received more money from Goldman Sachs, one of the largest investment banks in the world, than any other presidential candidate. Moore covers a lot of ground in Fahrenheit 11/9, perhaps too much in a movie that runs 2 hours and 2 minutes. Hopefully, the movie will be a thought starter that will get people to
talk about the way the government in this country has become so corrupt. The movie is rated R for some adult language. On my "Hollywood Popcorn Movie Scale" I rate it a JUMBO.

Back to School Edition! Part 2-
A Message for the Parents
School is officially back in session! You have been dropping your children off in front of the schoolhouse with glee in your hearts. Before you burn rubber again, the following information is to be embedded into your mental psyche and spirit. 1. Supplies-while we run to the store at the beginning of the school year collecting every pencil, pen, notebook paper, binders, etc.; kudos to you for that. When buying supplies, consider you are buying supplies at the beginning of the year. You have a minimum of 185 days to get through. Please keep in mind to replenish your child(ren)’s supplies as the school year progresses. Paper and pencils run out. Classrooms teachers are always baffled how parents think certain supplies purchased at the beginning of the year will last for the entire school year. Also, while you may not like “community sharing,” one reason that students share certain items is because you all do not supply throughout the year. You may not like me saying it, but that's one reason community sharing of tissue, hand sanitizer, construction paper, is so common in schools. As a former teacher, I can attest that teachers come out of their own pockets purchasing supplies for their classroom because students have run out. A teachers’ salaries cannot afford to do that all the time. So, please make sure your child has the www.texasmetronews.com
necessary supplies and tools that they need throughout the academic year. One thing I always tell parents to do is replenish at each break. During the fall semester, use the month of October to do a spot check to determine if supplies need replenishing. Depending on the supplies and the quantity you purchased at the beginning of the semester, you may can wait until Thanksgiving or Christmas to replenish. The likelihood you will need to buy everything is very slim.
However, take inventory on what your child needs so that when they return for the next semester all rested up from the Christmas break, they will have a fresh set of supplies to get them through the second half of the semester. You will do one more spot check at Spring break just to make sure that they have what they need. It is essential that you start your child off with their supplies but also to maintain. So, help your teacher out by replenishing your child’s supplies throughout the academic year. 2. Student health-Part A W hether you like vaccinations or not when you decide to put your child in school, public or private, you are agreeing to the rules of having your child vaccinated. Children's immune systems are not strong and when you put a weak immune system child in the room
with someone who has not had their vaccinations, it can cause a lot of problems. Therefore, when you see those notifications from the school nurse saying that your child needs to have their shots updated by the time the academic year rolls around, please get it done. Do not wait until the school sends you a notification stating your child cannot return to school until your child’s shot records are updated. When you receive the notification, no attitudes please. What’s the attitude for anyway? You knew all year that your child was turning a certain age and needs the appropriate vaccines. Therefore, work with
the school by ensuring that your child has their updated shots. Another point that bears mentioning is to always keep your child’s original shot records for yourself. School officials are human. Things can get lost. So, make sure you always provide a copy of your child's shot records but keep the originals. Part B-GERMS! In addition to reading, writing, and arithmetic, the lovely germs are a part of the school year. Hanging around bullying students is the arch nemesis germs. If your child has a fever when they wake up in the morning, do not assume by giving them a 4-hour dosage of Tylenol it Continued on next page

will stay in their system for the entire school day. You did nothing but bring them to the school and made other students sick. While you have your reasons of wanting the sick tot out of the house, in the long run it's hurting you because at some point you will have to keep them at home. If your child has a fever, it is important to get the fever under control so that they are not contagious to others. Maybe the next day, your child can return to school. When you decided to take the germ-stricken kid to school while they are still contagious you are making matters worse. So, please do not drop your child off at school when they are sick. They are contagious and can spread those germs to their fellow classmates and teachers. 3. Think before you ACT!-As a former teacher, I remember parents saying to me and my fellow colleagues, “I have no problem getting arrested from this school for the sake of my child.” I need you to think before you speak such volatile statements. As school shootings continue to arise, if you are being disruptive, the school will call the police on you.
And no, you cannot have an attitude when they do. I really need you to think before you are conducting yourself in a manner that is putting a school and/or your freedom in jeopardy. If you are being belligerent, do not expect the situation to end in your favor. Regardless of what the problem is that brought you to the school, maintain control and handle it in an adult mature manner. We do not live in times where you can be confrontational at the school and think security will not be called on you. Your child’s biggest advocate is you and school officials do want to work with you to resolve the issue that brought you to campus. Stay calm and work with the administrators to get to the root of the issue. Consider this. If you are in jail, how will that help your child? Keep your attitude and your temper in check because the one thing you do not want is your child to see mom or dad getting arrested and escorted out of the building in front of all their friends. 4. Home/school Communication -It really does take a village for our children to be successful. Therefore,
it is important that when teachers call, email, or text you, respond back. Regardless of life circumstances, working numerous jobs, etc it is imperative to show interest in what your son or daughter is doing at school. The worst thing for an educator to experience is to see a child struggle with the content, want to help, but unable to get the parent(s) on the phone. The teachers feels helpless because they need to schedule a parent conference but the parent is not returning the calls. Keep the lines of communication with home and school open. If you know your child is Chucky or Rosemary’s baby, that is not the time to not answer the phone. You know what you dropped off at that school. The school didn't create that little hellion you have at home. When you go missing in action, it is very easy for the child to play you and the school against each other. Trust me, they know when home and school is not on the same page. Therefore, to keep the disruption to a minimum, make sure that you keep the lines of communication open.
TEXAS METRO NEWS September 26, 2018 5. Be the Cheerleader-Children need support. If no one else believes in them their parent or guardian needs to believe in them. Yes, they may struggle in math but do not give them excuses as to why they can not be successful. Don't say things like, “I wasn't good in math, so my child is not” or “my child has a learning disability because they struggle with reading/ writing.” Do not give them a pass to be unsuccessful. When you give them these types of crutches in their mind, it is harder on the teacher. Did you ever wonder why your child is behind in reading because you never required them to read at home? If the only time, a child is reading or working on math is during school hours, they will struggle but it does not mean they have a learning disability. It means that they are academically behind and need to catch up--which can happen with hard work outside of school. Speaking for those who work at the collegiate level, it is sad that college professors and advisors have to deprogram students on statements parents have told them when they were young.

Here they are in college and they are still fighting negative comments. We want you to be your child’s advocate. That support is so needed. Continue to give them encouraging words, pray with them in the morning, have motivational quotes that they can recite back. In other words, show them that you know they can achieve anything they put their mind to. If the child does not feel somebody in their house cares about their well-being; teachers, principals, counselors are working double time fighting the negativity that's going on in your child’s mind. So help the school out by being your child's biggest cheerleader in a positive, non-disruptive manner because again we do not want you to get arrested at the school house. Parents before you burn rubber and drop the child off again at the schoolhouse remember these five things and let's have a great year.~Doc Shep Speaks Dr. Felicia N. Butterfly I emerge from this darkness changed. Leaving behind so much of what was me; whole but with missing parts. Pushing myself through a realization that does not include you, physically. Your transformation complete. Mine ... only beginning.
