Endorsements, anyone... Early voting for the midterm elections began on February 20, 2018. I usually try to vote early because tomorrow is not promised. I remember taking my Godmother to cast her vote for Sen. Barack Hussein Obama. While she was not with us to witness the inauguration she expressed her pride at having the opportunity to vote and also hear the results of the historic election. She felt strongly about voting and she wasn’t the least intimidated by the abundance of McCain/ Palin signs we saw around Cairo, GA. Now, these midterm elections are very important and sadly many will forego the process. On numerous occasions I have been asked if Texas Metro News would endorse candidates. Believe me when I tell you we are progressing to that point, despite opposition from loved ones and advisers. You see, some of the arguments as to why it is not a good idea for the Black press to endorse include: 1. You don’t have the luxury (resources) of the so-called mainstream press 2. Your readers don’t listen to sound reasoning because many choose personalities over issues 3. Candidates take it personally and won’t advertise with you if you endorse someone other than them 4. You, your papers, your mama, will come under attack Well what are some good reasons for endorsing? 1. You know the real dirt - the good, bad and ugly 2. People trust you 3. People will take you seriously 4. Who better to tell the truth, accurately and fairly There are people who want to hear from the Black Press. They get information on so many topics but they thirst for more on the controversial and sometimes volatile subjects. No, they aren’t begging for gossip or salaciousness. What they want is someone to break down some of the senseless stuff we witnesss and put it into perspective. The Black Press has to be vocal! We have to return to those days of fearlessness

MY TRUTH

By Cheryl Smith Publisher

where we called out people who were wrong and stood up for those who were right. But times have changed. You remember the days, when you told someone to go sit down because they had no business even thinking about running for dog catcher; or they know darn well their child stole that money because everyone knows he’s a thief; or, you can say that baby is yours but he looks just like that big-eared, slew-footed man around the corner! Get the point? No not really. We live in a time when people rather remain silent, or lie. “Yeah, her child is bad but I won’t tell her,” or “I’ll tell him he should run for that office, but I’m not voting for him.” Today you are supposed to keep your mouth shut to keep the peace. But who benefits from your silence? Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said, ”In the End, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.” There was a time when Black people looked to the Black press for that friendship because we weren’t getting love anyplace else. Those soldiers without swords not only shared the news, they spread the truth and let the hit dog holler. Now some of the messages could be somewhat sharp and downright hurtful. I’d venture to guess that the harder the subject’s head appeared to be, the harder and stronger the message was. You know some people just don’t listen. But it’s true that you also have to watch who you’re listening to and understand the motivation behind their message. There will come a time when there will be endorsements from this publication, and other I Messenger Media outlets. We’re going to come correct. We will do our research and rest knowing we won’t be for sale! Advertising with us is the right thing to do, whether we endorse you or not. You want to reach our readers! If we don’t en-

dorse you, we will tell you why. Get yourself together and come back correct. In the meantime and the between time, you may see on occasion an endorsement from one of our columnists. And that’s okay. As attempts are underway to build a respected and quality publication, we are getting ourselves together for that day when we can withstand any assaults that come from our efforts to educate, enlighten and inform our readers. We began this journey by establishing a publication with journalism at its core. We have a team of award-winning journalists, journalism educators and communications/media professionals who have what it takes to produce a stellar publication and we’re continuing to build. Many are students of ethics and communications law. Others while well-versed in the Associated Press Stylebook, also realize the importance of our own style and nuances that speak to our realities, our struggles, our lives. We’re constantly looking for more talent, interns, volunteers and seasoned professionals. We’re embracing technology and collaborating with others to maximize our resources; while building and sharing with others. We must, in the spirit of the Black Press credo, plead our own cause. We want to tell our stories. We want to be the voice for the voiceless. We have more resources today to give more folks a voice but we still have to take into consideration that there are many who still find their voices muted. And just because someone has a platform does not mean they have taken the steps to be adequately prepared to use that platform for the benefit of others. You might find someone totally abusing the platform, themselves and society. You have to know the difference! We stand on the shoulders of men and women who makes us feel the need to come strong and that’s what we are working on. We feel a moral obligation. We’re providing that strong base so when we do endorse, readers will trust and believe, and take us to the polls with them!

Caraway sends message to NRA From Staff Reports

Calling attention to the significant part gun violence has played in Dallas history, Mayor Pro Tem Dwaine Caraway has asked the National Rifle Association to cancel plans for their annual meeting. At a press conference earlier this week, Caraway said, it's just “not appropriate” for the NRA to hold its annual national meetings at the Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center, May 4-6, 2018. “Gun violence has played a significant part in Dallas’ historical past from the assassination of President John F. Kennedy to the five Dallas Police officers gunned down in James Dunn July 2016 to the brutal murder of a mother of six children in District 4 this past Christmas,” said Caraway. “It is time to put the heat on the NRA and demand that they work with elected officials in our country to establish gun laws that protect our children and keep our communities safe. Mavericks Source of Workplace Sexual Harassment, Investigation Reports: outside counsel hired By Dorothy J Gentry Sports Editor

sexual behavior: alleged public fondling by the team president; outright domestic assault by a high-profile member of the Mavs.com staff; unsupportive or even intimidating responses from superiors who heard complaints of inappropriate behavior from their employees; even an employee who openly watched pornography at his desk. The #MeToo Movement - which spread virally in October 2017 as a hashtag used on social media to help demonstrate the widespread prevalence of sexual assault and harassment, especially in the workplace – has reached the walls and halls of the American Airlines Center, and crept The Allegations and Responses deep into the culture of one of Dallas’ most beloved franchises; the Dallas Mavericks. The investigation will focus on the specific allegations related to this former employee, and will look more broadly at our company’s workplace practices and policies. In addition, an employee whose job was to receive and investigate such complaints and report them accurately and fully, has been suspended pending the conclusion of our investigation. In a separate matter, we have also learned that an employee misled the organization about a prior domestic violence incident. This employee was not candid about the situation and has been terminated. There is no room for such conduct in the Mavericks’ workplace—or any workplace. The Mavericks will provide all necessary resources to ensure that every current and former employee receives appropriate support. We will also conduct comprehensive training through experts and take the necessary steps to ensure that our workplace is a safe, respectful and productive one for all Dallas Mavericks employees. We are committed-- to our employees, our team and our fans-- to meet the goals of dignity, security and fairness that define the Dallas Mavericks. We will not make any further comments until after the completion of the investigation. The SI story stated that at least six former female employees spoke to the magazine about a corrosive workplace environment in the years leading up to Ussery leaving the organization. They said there were times when they did not feel safe. The Mavs’ statement about the investigation did not include any names, but the SI investigative story identified Ussery. According to the investigations’ findings, as far back as 1998, the Mavericks conducted an internal investigation about Ussery after several female employees complained about inappropriate workplace behavior. According to SI, the results of that probe were not released and neither then-owner Ross Perot Jr. nor Ussery commented on the findings, other than Ussery saying: “It’s been addressed.” Both Ussery and Cuban gave statements to SI after the story was released. SI stated that Ussery issued his statement to them on Tuesday that read in part: “I am deeply disappointed that anonymous

sources have made such outright false and inflammatory accusations against me. During my career with the Mavericks, I have strived to conduct myself with character, integrity and empathy for others. “During my nearly 20 year tenure with the Mavericks, I am not aware of any sexual harassment complaints about me or any findings by the organization that I engaged in inappropriate conduct. In fact, on multiple occasions I and other senior executives at the organization raised concerns both in person and in emails - about other Mavericks employees who had engaged in highly inappropriate - and in some cases, threatening - sexual conduct. The organization refused to address these concerns, and I believe these misleading claims about me are part of an attempt to shift blame for the failure to remove employees who created an uncomfortable and hostile work environment within the Mavericks organization.” The SI story included this comment from Cuban: “I want to deal with this issue. I mean ... obviously there’s a problem in the Mavericks organization and we’ve got to fix it. That’s it. And we’re going to take every step. It’s not something we tolerate. I don’t want it. It’s not something that’s acceptable. I’m embarrassed, to be honest with you, that it happened under my ownership, and it needs to be fixed. Period. End of story.” Cuban told SI that he was not aware of any improper behavior by employees. “This is all new to me,” he said. “The only awareness I have is because I heard you guys (SI) were looking into some things ... Based off of what I’ve read here, we just fired our HR person. I don’t have any tolerance for what I’ve read. It’s wrong. It’s abhorrent.” The Mavs, in a separate matter, also learned about Sneed who reportedly misled team officials about a previous domestic-violence incident. Sneed was not identified in the Mavs’ initial statement. The statement said only that the employee “was not candid about the situation and has been terminated.” SI reported that it was him. Sneed, who was a writer for the Mavs.com website, worked with the organization for seven years. Sneed released the following statement to The Dallas Morning News late Tuesday: “While both instances described in the re-

port are damning and language used is not accurate, the two relationships described in the report are not something I am proud to have been a part of. I underwent much counseling after both situations, under the direction of [Mavs vice president of human resources] Buddy Pittman, and I feel like I grew from that counseling. I also signed a contract stating that I would not have oneon-one contact or fraternize with female employees after the inaccurately described incident with my female co-worker, who was a live-in girlfriend. “I abided by the details of that contract for four years, and received counseling during that period to avoid future instances. I thank Buddy Pittman for helping me to grow during that time, and I thank Mark Cuban for his willingness to help facilitate that growth.” Sneed was traveling with the Mavs organization in Los Angeles last weekend during the NBA’s All-Star 2018.

The NBA Response Late Tuesday evening after both the Mavericks statement and the SI story were released, the NBA released its own statement regarding the situation: “The Dallas Mavericks have informed us of the allegations involving former team president Terdema Ussery and Mavs.com writer Earl Sneed. This alleged conduct runs counter to the steadfast commitment of the NBA and its teams to foster safe, respectful and welcoming workplaces for all employees. Such behavior is completely unacceptable and we will closely monitor the independent investigation into this matter.” The fall-out for the Mavs after this stinging investigation is not known and remains to be seen but they could be far-reaching and have serious implications for the franchise moving forward. Possibilities include anything from a fine to a cleaning house movement to being stripped of draft picks. What is known is that Dallas’ beloved Mavericks franchise, home to one of, if not the top athlete in the city, Dirk Nowitzki, has a lot of work to do to restore the integrity and popularity of the organization to its fans, and more importantly to show that harassment of any kind has no place in its organization.

A Small but Meaningful Step

After much consideration, I reluctantly voted for a sixweek stopgap spending bill carrying a bipartisan budget deal, ending a less-than-sixhour government shutdown on February 9. The $400 billion budget deal was based upon practical political considerations, and my belief that a bipartisan Congress that gets things done is in the best long-term interests of the American people. The budget deal did not contain everything that I had wished, but it does support programs that are vitally important to those who elected me to wisely represent their concerns in Washington. For example, the budget agreement includes $89 billion in emergency supplemental appropriations to respond to the devastation in Texas caused by Hurricane Harvey, as well as other states impacted by Hurricanes Irma and Maria and the wildfires in California. It took more than five months for the Texas delegation to secure this funding for our state, which necessitated the cooperation of Republicans and Democrats alike to bring this desperately needed support to assist communities all throughout Texas during the recovery. The legislation also achieves a number of items that are important to residents of the district that I represent, and to those who are concerned about the well-being of children and senior citizens in our country. The bill closes the Medicare Part D “donut hole” a year earlier than the Affordable

Care Act, meaning seniors can expect to save thousands of dollars in out-of-pocket prescription drug costs. It allocates $6 billion to support various healthcare initiatives and battle the opioid crisis that is gripping the lives of many of our citizens. Additionally, the legislation contains funds for the expansion of community healthcare centers. These facilities are crucial to many people in North Texas. The legislation extends the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) by an additional four years. Community health centers are funded in the bill, and funding was approved to make the necessary repairs for clinics that service our veterans. Eligible seniors will see a reduction in their share of drug costs under the legislation. Significant funding for medical research is included in the legislation. Medical research and development is crucial to finding cures for disease and to scientific advancement in our society. The measure even addresses climate change by expanding a tax credit for companies that engage in processes that capture and store pollutants that

result from fossil fuels. It is generally believed that a reduction in carbon emissions will led to few drastic changes in the global climate. It also allocates money for our nation’s infrastructure needs for the repair and construction of highways, bridges, railroad lines and airports. While the budget did not contain everything of importance to me, I believe that it was a step in the right direction, particularly in the life of the Congress, which has been paralyzed by inaction. Nobody benefits from a government shutdown.

In fact, often times the ones who suffer the most are the seniors and other underserved segments of our population who depend heavily on the federal government to provide healthcare, housing, and support. I voted for the bipartisan budget agreement so that those who need us the most are not left carrying the burden of Congressional inaction. • Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson represents the 30th Congressional District of Texas.

HALL: Photo-Ops, Phonies, and Prayers QUIT PLAYIN’ By Vincent L. Hall

It begins rolling downhill for me, (the direction dung usually flows) when the local police give their shout outs. Now there are those who will disagree that the intro to Mass Murder press conferences is the time and place for lauding and applauding, but not me. Nowadays, if there’s a Mass Murder or any other disaster that calls for law enforcement, politicians or “experts,” it goes kinda like this. “Before I begin today, I want to recognize the fine job the trans-jurisdictional teams have done. I want to thank the Mayor and the Governor who have come here to be with us through this tragedy. We received calls from the Senator and Representatives in this district and we’ve talked to the White House.” That’s what I call the two-minute drill. The “Chief” will shout out the “Quick response,” the “Tireless efforts” and “Unsung heroes.” (Police and fire professionals whose praises never end until they ask for a pay raise). Next is a question and answer session, revealing absolutely nothing more than is already obvious on videotape. Parenthetically, let me

give a shout out to law enforcement. Because I do believe that “Black Lives Matter,” in the age of Trumpian rhetoric, you probably thought I didn’t like cops. Wrong!

uents or first responders. I hate photo-ops!! “Phony” politicians have ignored the need for stronger gun legislation for years. We lead the world in gun deaths, Mass Murders and the proliferation of arms; small and large. We blame it on mental illness, but they got the mental illness in Sweden

Honestly, the only thing I don’t like about “Good” cops is they allow spineless worms like Trump to use them as a cudgel against their political adversaries. “DJ” Trump uses “heroes” like he uses the “symbols” of patriotism to rally his base. Community activists and advocates, who know communities from street level, know first responders are heroes because they show up daily in communities and human circumstances that are deplorable. They work in crime-ridden neighborhoods because most local and national politicians don’t give a damn about their constit-

too! We blame the FBI for missing a clue or lax security. Magnetometers are not enough for a nation where gun deaths are 25 times more likely than in other high-income countries. America is 5% of the world has 31% of the mass shooters and incarcerate more citizens per capita than anyone in the world. America possesses 48% of the world’s estimated 650,000,000 civilian-owned guns. Sweden has a third fewer guns per person. Maybe that’s why Trump sweet-talks the Swedish and throws shade on African “Shithole” countries. BTW, none of the “Shithole”

QUIT PLAYIN’

countries are in the top 50. We suffer senseless gun deaths because of the National Rifle Association. The NRA has more prostitutes in Washington, D.C. than self-declared Pimp and Whoreologist; Don “Magic” Juan could ever claim. Former presidential candidate and proven choke artist, Senator Marco Rubio tweeted his obligatory prayers and wishes but has taken more than three million dollars from the NRA. John McCain, (whom I love) did the same and tops all of the Potomac streetwalkers with a whopping $7.7 million lifetime. So, I’m, tired of the photo-ops. I’m weary with the phonies and hollow prayers don’t move God. An African Proverb says that “prayers ought to have feet.” The Bible, James Chapter 2 says; “Faith without works is dead being alone.” I said, if the deaths of 20 innocent little White 1st graders in Sandy Hook didn’t sway them, there is no hope. But then I heard that teens are planning their March on Washington and hope sprung up. If you know history, you understand that every major modern movement commenced when teenagers got involved. Let’s pray the NRA doesn’t get to them first. #StayWoke #QuitPlayin Vincent L. Hall is an author, activist and award-winning journal-

The Black Press Remembers “Before the Mayflower” Author, Freedom Fighting Journalist Lerone Bennett Jr. By Stacy M. Brown (NNPA Newswire Contributor) Perhaps no other voice—or pen—captured the real life of Africans and African Americans like Lerone Bennett Jr., the former editor of EBONY and Jet magazines, who died on Wednesday, February 14 at the age of 89. Chicago Sun-Times reported that, Bennett suffered from vascular dementia. Among his many hard-hitting and compelling works was the exposé, “Before the Mayflower: A History of Black America,” in which Bennett traces Black history from its origins in western Africa, through the transatlantic journey and slavery, the Reconstruction period, the Jim Crow era, and the Civil Rights Movement. The book was later re-issued five more times and ultimately included life in the 1990s. Bennett would go on to pen at least 10 books, including the eye-opening, 2000 book titled “Forced into Glory: Abraham Lincoln’s White Dream,” which, for some, shattered centuries-old myths about America’s 16th president’s involvement in the freedom of slaves. A description of the book on Amazon. com said: “Beginning with the argument that the Emancipation Proclamation did not actually free African American slaves, this dissenting view of Lincoln’s greatness surveys the president’s policies, speeches, and private utterances and concludes that he had little real interest in abolition.” Pointing to Lincoln’s support for the fugitive slave laws, his friendship with slave-owning Senator Henry Clay, and conversations in which he entertained the idea of deporting slaves in order to create an all-White nation, the book, concludes that the president was a racist at heart— and that the tragedies of Reconstruction and the Jim Crow era were the legacy of his

shallow moral vision. “Smart man and great author. His book [about Lincoln] changed my life,” said comedian Sinbad. “Before the Mayflower’ educated me about the need to research our true history.” Others too expressed their sadness and profound gratitude for Bennett. “I am personally saddened by the death of Lerone Bennett Jr. We have lost another great journalist who will be sorely missed,” said Dorothy R. Leavell, the chairman of the NNPA and editor and publisher of the Crusader newspapers in Chicago, Illinois and Gary, Indiana. “We knew him as the conscience and voice of EBONY and Jet magazines and through the many books he published. The world is richer, because of his work here on earth and we are grateful for his many contributions.” Bennett counted as an elegant scholar and freedom fighter who used the power of his pen to awaken millions of people to the true history of African people in America and throughout the world, said NNPA President and CEO Dr. Benjamin F. Chavis Jr. “Bennett’s journalistic genius will be missed, but his contributions to documenting the struggles and triumphs of Black men, women and children will continue to be cherished by generations far into the future,” Chavis said. “The NNPA salutes the living legacy of Lerone Bennett Jr. with a commitment to pick up his pen and put it into the hands of today’s freedom fighting publishers, editors and journalists.” Bennett worked for EBONY for nearly 50 years, after starting at Jet in 1951 and then moving to the sister publication in 1953. By 1958, he was the executive editor. “Lerone worked side by side with my father in establishing EBONY’s voice,” EBONY CEO Linda Johnson Rice told the Chica-

go Sun-Times. “He was the guiding light for the editorial vision of EBONY. Lerone was not just essential in the formation of EBONY’s historic trajectory, he was a pillar in the Black community.” The Griot reported: “In addition to being remembered as an editor for these two magazines, Bennett, a graduate of Morehouse College, is known for his books, many of which cover the Black experience in America and the civil rights movement.” Bennett’s footprints are cemented at the International Civil Rights Walk of Fame in Atlanta and he once served on President Bill Clinton’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities. The veteran journalist and historian also served as an early adviser to the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture. In a tweet, the Rev. Jesse L. Jackson Jr., praised Bennett’s work. “A classmate & biographer of Dr. King, during the turbulent 60’s, his was a pen that mattered. As historian, author of ‘Before the Mayflower’, editor of Ebony magazine, the most read voice of the freedom struggle, his impact will long be felt and remembered,” Jackson tweeted. From its official Twitter account, the NMAAHC tweeted, “it is with great sadness and profound sense of loss that we share the news of the death of Lerone Bennett Jr., a gifted historian and journalist.” On Twitter, Bernice A. King called Bennett a beloved and brilliant man. “If you haven’t read his books, I encourage you to. Even if you have, I encourage you to. Truly one of a kind historian & scholar,” King tweeted. “Grateful for what he’s meant to my family.”

Forgiving my Cheating Husband My sisters and my girlfriend say I’m crazy

Ask ALMA Dear Alma, My husband and I have been married for eight years. He was my first love, and I love him dearly. We have four children, ranging in age from 10 years to 8 months. I am dedicated to my husband and our children. While I was pregnant with our last child, he had an affair and fathered a child with that woman. He and I have worked through our problems and are determined to make our marriage work. We have opened our home and will raise the other child with our children. My sisters and my girlfriend say I’m crazy and that I should not forgive him. Every time we are together, they make me feel stupid and say things that hurt my feelings. I don’t want to stop seeing them, but how can I get them to leave it alone and stop making me feel bad? Signed, iforgivehim

Infidelity is extremely heartbreaking, and to have it happen while you’re pregnant rates as a super-sized undeserving blow. But that’s not the question you asked. As for regaining the respect of your sisters and girlfriend, that might be harder than the reconciliation between you and your husband. A best friend and/or sister-girl can be a tough nut to crack. You know how we are – wobble-neck and all, LOL. Truth be reminded, though, they are coming from a place of love, concern and protection. I’m

easier for a spouse to forgive, forget and move on than it is for an extended family member. Continue to remain strong in your faith and decision to hold on to your husband and the unity of family. As long as you’re both at peace with your decision, it doesn’t matter what others think or say, including me. Only you and your husband know the details of what goes on in your prayer closet. If your best life includes standing by your man, stand tall, chest out, feet firmly planted. Explain to your sisters and girlfriends how much their support means to you. Ask them to respect your decision to stay, just as they would have respected your decision to leave. Remind them to refrain from using words that are damaging and hurtful. When the conversation leads to negative comments, defend yourself and especially your husband with a positive response. Redefine how you allow others to speak about your family. It will take a while for them to come around, so be patient. Keep your head up! You are an excellent reflection and supreme example of the ability to forgive. Alma

Hello Iforgivehim,

sure it was hard for them to witness your fears and tears of heartache and pain. Now that you and your husband have retied the ties that bind, you want them to be forgiving of him as well. Come on; you know that’s not how this ball is dunked. It’s much

Lost and Found and Lost and Found Again Spiritually Speaking by James A. Washington

The subject of being lost is the message of this column. Have you ever been lost, I mean really don’t know where you are, what you’re doing, how did I get here lost? I used to wouldn’t or couldn’t admit being lost to anyone, The truth be told, I’ve been emotionally, clinically, physically, chronically and of course, spiritually lost many times in my life. It’s no accident that finding me by me coincides with me finding my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. You see lost in the secular realm can mean a lot of things, including, simply being lost in time and space. Geographically, that can mean not knowing which direction to turn in order to get to a particular designated place at a specific time. Spiritually, being lost runs the gamut from borderline lunacy to physical depravity, from chasing your own tail to sniffing

Women’s History Month “Hidden Figures” Panel As part of Women’s History Month, the local black public relations (BPRS) and black sports professionals’ (BSP) societies are hosting “Hidden Figures” a

everyone else’s. For those not following my point, merely consider those times in your life when you couldn’t explain your own dumb behavior to anyone, including yourself. Think, if you will, about all of those times when you were in the middle of where even you knew you weren’t supposed to be, had no business being there. But you wouldn’t, dare I say couldn’t leave. Folks that’s being lost in the truest sense of the word, if you engage in destructive behavior and can’t stop; live a lifestyle you despise but feel obligated to continue; stay in an abusive situation and can’t leave; love yourself so little that you lose sight of who you really are; blame the world for your predicament and won’t see any way to change it. Can you spell l-o-s-t? If being spiritually lost is in essence a state of mind, doesn’t it stand to reason then that being spiritually found is also a state of mind? We all know how it feels after being lost for a few minutes or a few hours and finally

getting going in the right direction. You’ve not yet reached your destination but you experience great pleasure in the fact that you absolutely know where you’re going and how long it will take you to get there. Being spiritually found, or finding yourself spiritually brings the same feeling, only tenfold, because really, most of us have been spiritually lost for more than a few minutes, or a few days or even a few years. To wake up on any given morning and recognize the truth, about which I write, necessitates praising God in a manner only the saved can understand. At that point, in that moment of understanding confusion gives way to clarity, lunacy gives way to sanity, turmoil bows to peace, purpose replaces insignificance and the angst of the spirit is replaced by faith in the Almighty. It’s an awesome thing y’all with some awesome responsibilities. I believe once you find yourself spiritually, there is one irrefutable fact you must acknowledge. You can no longer plead ignorance to the ways of the

Lord. No longer can you play victim to your own self induced frailties. No longer can you claim weakness as an excuse for succumbing to sinful behavior. This spiritually found thing bears a price tag for redemption. Salvation does indeed require a paradigm shift. But it’s okay. Just like being on the wrong highway all night and finally finding the right one, even though you’ve gone far out of your way, there’s nothing like finally getting it right. Now it’s just a matter of time. “He said to them, ‘It is not for you to know the time or dates the Father has set by His own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you’…” All I’m trying to say is being found is so much better than being lost and being spiritually found is considerably better than being spiritually bankrupt. Maybe I’m just glad to know the difference. May God bless and keep you always.

A Way Out of This Out of the darkness, be drawn to the light. It will warm and comfort you and turn your day from the night. Allowing you to see the good times and find strength in them It will show, without a doubt, that your strength comes from Him. Everything imaginable rearranged by death. Outlining the measure of the dash that you dwell on earth. Although weakened by sadness, muster all you might. Weep if you must but keep moving towards the light.
