CAREER SERVICES

The Department of Public Safety (DPS) is committed to providing and maintaining a safe and secure environment while respecting the rights and dignity of individuals using programs and facilities of Pepperdine University.

Specific services include 24/7 security patrols, emergency response, threat assessment, building security, parking/traffic enforcement, campus safety escorts, event support, investigations, and dissemination of safety-related information. Other services include roadside assistance for problems such as vehicle lockouts and jump starts, the Safe Rides Program, and management of the University’s fire and lifesaving equipment.

We also encourage the use of the LiveSafe app, which offers users a variety of campus safety resources as well as the ability to communicate directly with DPS and 911, if needed. This app allows your student to report concerns anonymously.

Safe Rides

Pepperdine’s Safe Rides program exists to provide a safer community. If a student does not feel safe in an off-campus location, regardless of the circumstances, they are encouraged to call DPS for assistance at 310.506.4441.

DPS will facilitate your student’s safe return to campus by using the appropriate resources. This is not a confidential service, but students should not fear punishment for seeking assistance when in an unsafe situation.
