Davenport Institute for Public Engagement and Civic Leadership
CIVIC ENGAGEMENT AND VIEWPOINT DIVERSITY
The Davenport Institute for Public Engagement and Civic Leadership works with local governments, nonprofit organizations, and residents to both promote and support constructive and broad-based civic involvement in decisions that affect people where they live and work.
TRAINING The Davenport Institute offers to help local and regional leaders improve their public engagement skills.
THOUGHT LEADERSHIP The institute offers a variety of resources to help design, deliver, and promote inclusive, authentic, and effective public engagement.
CONVENING Central to the institute’s goals is its provision of a unique platform where partners committed to civic leadership and public participation in local government are brought together.
Put most simply, public policy is about solving problems. Partnerships with the Davenport Institute and HSAC@SPP provide students with access to hands-on problem-solving opportunities, teaching them how to best engage with and lead their communities to make solutions work.
