The Homeland Security Advisory Council (HSAC) at the School of Public Policy is an innovative academic enterprise focusing on disaster preparedness, crisis management, and resiliency through engaging the public, private, and civic sectors.

TECHNOLOGY HSAC’s web-based crisis and event management platform, SALUS - The Crisis Hub, puts the power of geographic information systems directly into the hands of crisis managers, public safety professionals, and policymakers, providing its users with an innovative way to visualize information and effectively analyze data.

ENGAGEMENT SPP and HSAC bring together cross-sector leaders to speak on emerging crisis management issues and how to solve them, and to hold workshops on emergency management and leadership.

CAPABILITY HSAC supports policy research and educates the broader community throughout Los Angeles in best emergency management practices.

A Premier Faith-Based School

The Pepperdine School of Public Policy is one of only a handful of master of public policy programs based at a Christian university. For this reason the program emphasizes the human, moral, and ethical dimensions of policy challenges in its coursework alongside quantitative and qualitative analysis.
