Students also have the opportunity to apply what they learn in real-life scenarios through Mediation Clinic practice and externships. * All of our LLM programs may be tailored to help students qualify to take the California and/or New York Bar Examination.

PROFESSIONAL SKILLS PROGRAM

32-unit program for students with a bachelor’s degree but without a legal background.

US LAW AND LEGAL WRITING SEMINAR 4-week program designed to provide an overview of US Law while strengthening legal research and writing skills.

3-day workshop program for practicing professionals to gain specific expertise in the dispute resolution process. Choose from 12 courses including basic, advanced, and specialized courses.

WOMEN’S NEGOTIATION ACADEMY

MEDIATING THE LITIGATED CASE 6-day program in negotiation and mediation skills for experienced litigators, in-house counsel, and other practitioners.

2-day program with a concentration on the most recent research on gender issues in negotiation.

The Straus Institute also offers short programs that enable international professionals to become acquainted with the US legal system and prepare for their LLM studies by increasing proficiency in the English language, learning negotiation and mediation skills, or deepening knowledge in their field of interest.
