Mick Bulman’s Tohatsu Runpet won Best Japanese bike. Many clubs took part, and the presentation of displays is improving with every year this event takes place. We had our display in the usual place, at one end of the oval, while the Z Owners Club had their display at the other goalposts, celebrating 50 years of the 900. We utilised both our gazebos for the first time, and it was a great improvement as the sun was out and the shade was appreciated. We had two members who won prizes, one was for his Z900 on the other display and Mick Bulman took out the Best Japanese with his Tohatsu Runpet. We would have had 20 or 30 bikes around our gazebos at one time, I didn’t count as I was run off my feet talking to interested people and handing out application forms. Overall, it was a great success, and I was told that the attendance topped last year’s 4500. I could believe it as I looked over the huge mass of bikes parked on the oval.

Plenty of variety on the VJMC stand.
